Hi Jennifer and thank you for your Centurion application - in addition to posting a new photo of the sanded forearms, could you please take a photo showing the handguards beeing flexible, I know you have ones from Joseph but I still need to see it, thank you2 points

No idea, but I'll keep you posted if I find out! Sorry for the lack of updates lately - I've been mentoring a couple guys in my Garrison, helping them finish AM ANH-S suits, so I haven't been working on my projects as much, butttttt... ready to submit one of my mentees for basic approval today! Now that he's done, time to focus on my stuff! Taking the armor to my paint shop today to get a more precise quote to have it automotive-quality painted. Our build group meetup got rescheduled, but I picked up my undersuit from the tailor and it fits much better now. Been messing around with Plasti-Dip and Flex Seal as well... More on that later...2 points

Hi again Simon and thank you for your application for Centurion, always great to see a fellow trooper take their armor to the next level. (For those looking at this review for their own future application please be aware that this review is made in appliance to the previous CRL, meaning that there are elements in this review that are suggestions that will be manadatory for those beeing reviewed according to the current CRL as per regulations stipulated for when the changes would take affect, you can read about it in this NL https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/47339-june-fisd-newsletter-2019/) CRL and Centurion Application Requirements All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to Centurion! On behalf of the DO team and myself, many congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly In this area we discuss areas that could benefit from additional improvement. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. And just like in EIB we'll start from the top down. Starting with the belt we still feel that raising it a tad more would be spot on. Moving on the the cloth portion we recommend you replace it with something more sturdier as it´s creasing quite a bit, the belts in movie were thicker and that would add to that prestine look. Next up is a heads up to be mindful of the drop box when suiting up and patroling the streets. Final item is the posterior plate and we still suggest some tighter strapping to rein it in. And that´s it, great job on your armor and again congratulations and welcome to Centurion2 points

Advanced Tactics Awards EIB - The March To 1000 Merchandise & Branding Officer Public Relations Follow FISD It is sad news that we report the loss of another legion member, Denio Caerio (DZ-14086) of the Novo Império 501st Legion passed away On the 25th of July, 2019, . Forever smiling and playful, Denio brightened the day for everyone. He was especially focused on cheering patients in hospitals by organizing costumed troops. So strong was his will to help offers that few even realized Denion was ill himself. He is survived by his partner Mary Mutz (CT-29563.) Our condolences go out to his family and friends. "Buckets Off" Greetings Troopers, It's August already and the year is flying by! This month on FISD saw the addition of the newest trading card run, of which the first cards are at the printers now. We also have gotten approved and are kicking off several new coin runs, including the first ever FISD PRIDE celebratory coin, and our newest iteration of gold Expert Infantry coins! Check our Merchandise entry below for more info and links to those runs. As I spend this evening strapping down large props to a trailer for this weekends convention, it gives me plenty of time to reflect on just how amazing of an organization the 501st is and everyone that helps make it possible; in the legion, in the garrisons, and in the detachments. So many give so much of their time and energy to making these things function and flow on FISD, from Brien organizing and championing our detachment merch, to our deployment officers Daniel, Sha Sha, and Mike tirelessly helping us on our March to 1,000, to all of our web masters keeping our systems running, COGs keeping our boards clean and managed, and all of our PR Officers keeping people in the loop (especially Glen for making the newsletter happen every month!). The Attache's helping troopers daily on the forums and at armor parties, and the stormtroopers out there being bad guys doing good. You all rock, and without all of you, the 501st and FISD would not be the amazing costuming group it is today. As we look forward to the rest of 2019 and beyond, we're always on the look out for more folks that want to take a more active role in FISD. The Fire Team program is completely optional, and is intended to help form a common identity and spirit of camaraderie among 501st Legion stormtroopers in the same geographic area/garrison that troop together. Fire Teams are not officially recognized by the 501st Legion nor the FISD, although they will be able to access a Fire Team sub-forum on the detachment website. Because Fire Teams are unofficial groups, they cannot have any 501st or FISD markings, including 501st Legion, 501st, Legion logos, Vader's Fist etc. on their branding or logos. However, Teams will be allowed to use any unique markings at informal events provided they follow these guidelines. Guidelines No 501st or FISD markings. Period. Any active Legion member with a valid stormtrooper costume in the specified geographic area can join. The Team can create a name, logo, backstory, etc. for itself (names usually contain Fire Team, though this isn't required). A list of each Team (with their specific "Teams Name") with a current list their members will be kept in the Fire Team sub-forum on the Detachment website. A Team member must troop at least twice per year to maintain status as a member. Two or more Team members must troop together once per year to keep the group active. Merchandising Again, no 501st or FISD markings. Merchandising will only be limited by the imagination of the Fire Team. Any merchandising should be submitted to the detachment, or through proper Legion channels. A master list of all Fire Team merchandise (with photos) will be posted in the Fire Team sub-forum. If any of these guidelines are violated, the group will be disbanded. Here is a link to the Fire Team area: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/130-fire-team-area/ 501st membership is needed to view this area. This is a great program that is strictly just for fun and it also allows fellow TK's get to know each other better. At certain times of the year this embargo is lifted, generally around Blu-Ray / movie releases, May 4th and Force Friday, the recent correspondence from LFL outlines the lift of the embargo: "While there is currently a retail moratorium on character appearances in effect, it is being lifted during the following days:Oct 1-31 -- ok to appear at schools, libraries and book stores for Star Wars ReadsOctober 4-6 -- ok to appear at any retailers offering the new SW-related merchandise for Triple Force FridayDec 1-31 -- ok to appear at retailers selling SW-related merchandise for the holiday seasonDec 19-26 -- ok to appear at theaters showing The Rise of SkywalkerAll fans, costumed or otherwise, can participate with venues of their choice within these windows with the restriction that costumed appearances must not be used in the advertising for the event. LFL will not need to approve or coordinate these. Please note that retail locations should not include restaurants, bars, or venues with no apparent reason to feature Star Wars characters. In the coming weeks and months, we may send out a list of ‘preferred' retailers from certain regions who would welcome fans to participate at their venues within these event windows, but you are all still welcome to make plans with appropriate retailers or venue hosts of your choice regardless of whether or not they appear on the list. Thanks everyone, and thanks for all you do!" Our aim is to have at least one in each and every Garrison, Squad and Outpost in the entire legion to be the eyes and ears of the FISD on a local level. A suggested level of EIB or above is preferred, as part of the duties include assisting those aiming for levels 2 and 3, but is not a requirement. Being active on the boards on a regular basis , welcoming new members and helping out where you can is, though. Some of the benefits: 1. Access to exclusive Attaché merch., including patches, etc. 2. Having the Imperial Attaché title under your name. 3. Being a part of the team that welcomes new and prospective members of the FISD. 4. Being the "go-to" person in your Garrison, Squad or Outpost. 5. Exclusive access to the Attaché HQ area, Imperial Propaganda Machine (newsletter) and merchandise discussions. With Unquestioned Loyalty Preston Christman TK-91488 "Pretzel" PRO Lead - Attaché Ambassador So what exactly are EIB (Expert Infantry Badge) and Centurion levels? These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! It also works on giving a better look to the Legion as an entity, and you can bet others will take notice of your hard work. The 501st has a list of detailed requirements for Basic approval, (level 1), EIB, (level 2) and Centurion, (level 3) which can be found here in the Costume Reference Library, (CRL) http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL Here are a few of the questions people may be wondering about: 1. "I am a (tall/short/heavy/thin) Trooper. Can I still apply? Of course! These programs are open and encouraged for all sizes of TKs, as long as the costume is correct and meets the guidelines. There are many specific build tutorials to every option, as well as a vast network of fellow TKs on the FISD to help you out and offer suggestions. 2. "How much extra will I have to pay for extra items"? The cost is actually quite reasonable, considering the few extra supplies you will need, which are listed in the requirements area. While it may run you a little more to implement these additions to your costume, they will go a long way to improving accuracy. All needed items can be found for sale on this thread: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/16-ongoing-sales-project-orders/ While blasters are not required for basic approval, for EIB and Centurion levels they are, and may need upgrades (also listed in the CRL). 3. "I haven't even got my kit yet, is it too early to start planning"? Actually, aiming for Centurion is easiest to do right out of the box. 4. "I have my basic TK approval, can I still get in these programs"? In a word... absolutely! 5. "Are there any "perks" to this extra work and cost"? Besides knowing that you have a great looking set of armor, the 501st and FISD believes you should be deservedly recognized for your achievement(s), and allows you to wear the appropriate embroidered "rocker" badge of rank (available for a very minimum cost) on your shirt, helmet bag, etc., as well as rank decals to put on your armor bin. You will also have access to select "challenge coin" runs, receive (free) a cool certificate for your new rank, and have your title posted below your name in your FISD signature. Plus, once you reach these levels, you will have the extra knowledge to help out those who are looking to apply as well. 6. "Is it hard to apply, and what happens then"? After basic approval, all you do is make sure your armor is up to the standards set forth in the CRL, post a thread with the required photos in the appropriate area (see below), and wait a bit for the D.O.s (Deployment Officers) to address it. (Hint: Studying other people's threads before you submit can be a GREAT help). These are also listed on the main page of the FISD site. While waiting for approval, you will get some comments from others who will offer suggestions and constructive advice to help you out. If you should need any changes, the DOs will let you know, so you can adjust accordingly. Don't be dismayed if you do need changes... it's all for your benefit! After you are approved for EIB, then you can submit for Centurion. EIB https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/19-request-expert-infantryman-status/ Centurion https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/72-request-centurion-status/ Just remember that the FISD is here to help you every step of the way with whatever other questions you may have, but if you can't seem to find what you are looking for in your research, just ask away here on the forum. This area lists all those who have gone above and beyond basic approval toward screen accuracy. Request your free Centurion certificate here If you see any of these Troopers around your Garrison or Squad, be sure to congratulate them! As many of you are aware, the FISD is currently in our March to 1000 program. Our goal is to reach the one thousand mark of Troopers who have earned their Expert Infantry Badge, and although we are well on our way to this goal and have just reached the 928 mark! The amount of approved submissions is increasing (over 80 this year alone) thanks to the dedication of those willing to go the "extra mile" toward screen accuracy. Here is a brief description of EIB as written by Paul (Daetrin), our founder: "Expert Infantryman status is not required for members of this detachment. It should be viewed as an optional set of requirements for those who wish to take the accuracy of their costumes to the next level, and be recognized accordingly. We're a costuming club - think of it as an award for costuming excellence and you get the picture. The requirements will not replace or supersede 501st standards, but only serve as an inspiration for the level of accuracy that can be achieved. The standards are meant to be high but achievable..." Besides the added pride you will have in your armor, those reaching this level can purchase exclusive EIB gear (patches, decals, coins etc.) and get a free certificate for your accomplishment. If you are interested or would like more information about the program head here that will help. You can also contact myself "Pretzel" or any Imperial Attaché, and we will be more than happy to assist you! Greetings, troopers! August is jam-packed with merchandise news. First off - gold EIB coins are here! If you have reached EIB (Level 2) status and do not have a gold coin, head here and claim yours today (supplies are very limited!): The silver coins are currently shipping, so be on the lookout if you haven't received yours yet. Second - Pride coins are here! These are open to all active 501st members and can be purchased here: Third - Racing Shirts are coming! We're going to be offering BOTH regular and First Order versions and for the first time ever, the option to have Expert Infantry, Centurion, or Attache rockers printed directly on the shirt! Thought maybe it would be fun to share this here - I've been experimenting with different coatings for my parts and came across a suggestion to use polyurethane and plastic bonding spray paint combined quickly. Much to my surprise, it left a very interesting (almost leather-like) texture to the part... This is a part off the new blaster specifically, which is why it's a little relevant here. I should have something to show by wednesday or so.1 point

This kit is approved! Chris received his formal 501st approval for his very first costume this weekend. He chose TK-10441 as his ID since it's similar to mine (TK-10401). He is thrilled, and I've nudged him to get himself introduced here in the FISD and also at the Georgia Garrison forums. I took some additional photos of him in kit on Saturday. Unfortunately, I don't currently have access to the pics I took with the Fuji X-T3 (which looked amazing, I must say!), but I managed to snap some with my cell while we were wrapping up. This looks like something you would see in a brochure of the Stormtrooper Retirement Benefits package. And some extra shots of the kit. I like to continue to evaluate the fit of the kit not only by watching how it moves when being worn, but also in candid photos after it's been worn for an hour or so. These kind of pics help me really see where things might need adjustment. Overall, I'd say it doesn't look too shabby. I see that the left thigh rotated out, but that's an adjustment of the elastic sliding on the garter belt. And maybe I could loosen the elastics on the drop boxes by a few millimeters to reduce some of the tension that causes them to angle out slightly. I might still shorten the forearms a tad, and trim the left and right of the chest plate a bit as well for comfort. Despite those things, I'd say this is a wrap. Wouldn't you say that this new TK looks supah-happy?! His first troop will be at the DragonCon parade at the end of August. I can't wait for him to experience all the awesomeness that is being an approved TK! Thanks to everyone here at the FISD for your guidance and feedback as always. FISD is Best Detachment!1 point

Hi jayke, I would recommend you, don't trim anything till you have made the straping and tested . take care of the cover strips dimmensions and be sure to wear your final black inner clothes . Keep on doing a great job.1 point

Making progress for sure. But when you assemble your belt assembly to hold up your thigh pieces, just try to close the gap as much as possible. You'll also want the shoulder bells to be pulled in as close to your shoulder straps as much as possible. If the top of the bell can touch the plastic shoulder strap then even better, since you are aiming for centurion. As for mobility, you can add the cuts to the back of your leg pieces. But per the CRL update, be sure the cuts don't extend past the raised edge. Again, an example with how I did my cuts. Keep up the good work!1 point
