  1. Yeh, I realise that now Tom [emoji23]. Work has gone mental at the minute so haven’t had any time to get stuck in...I’ve also got my BBB sat in the kitchen waiting to be started...when I get chance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  2. I just finished and submitted this costume, and it was approved today! I highly recommend Troopermaster's TS armor and strapping kit, and Rob Kittell's duster and pouches. Here is my build: http://www.blizzardforce.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=5787

  3. - 3D modeling: 100% - Splitting and optimizing: 100% - Hardware listing: 100% - Exporting files in a 3D printable format: 100% - "Directions" .pdf: 50% - Uploading: 0% - FISD topic creation: 0% I'm getting very close to finally finish these First Order quadnoculars now, perhaps even by the end of the week. But right now, I'm in need of your help! I am looking for this picture in high and clear resolution to illustrate my "Directions" .pdf: I've searched a bit on Google but with no real luck. So if any of you has it, or have the Visual Dictionary and a good scanner, I would be very grateful if you could post it here. Cheers, T5H.

  5. Thanks awesome, I hope to someday have a few. I’ve been looking around for a second costume cause I really did enjoy it. I know I can’t even get the first to pass and I’m already looking at a second. Joined a few other forums. Been looking at ROTJ Royal Guard, Biker Scout, or Snow Trooper. I like the thought of the mask to remain anonymous. My main concern is growing out of the lower half of my TK. Any suggestions? From what it looks like it’s basically all around the same price. 6. I run my mic wire under my neck seal. Everything else I have in the chest plate area.

  7. Thanks Dan! Yeah, I was sort of thinking of putting my new USB power source somewhere in that general area. I was hoping to put in along the back - I don't think that will happen - I'll see when it arrives. I put my fans just below my frown, so I'll have to see what room is left. I tried putting a piece of that padding at the back of my helmet like yours - my nose was mashed against the front and my eye lashes were brushing against the lens. For running wires down towards the torso - do most just drop them down below the chin outside of the undersuit and neck seal (I tuck my neck seal in, but if I didn't I guess I could hide the wires behind the neck seal)? They would be visible if I looked up - but I can't imagine that happening very often.

  8. Hi Greg, I’m another one with a big head. ;-) What you might find helpful is to put your lid on, then feel around with your hands to see where the space is. For me, it was near my mouth and cheeks, so I put my cylindrical power bank near my right cheek (sort of). Here’s a pic, if it helps. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Well, while I wait for my ID# to show up (10 days so far - just sayin'), I am picking away at a few things on the build - mainly the electronics. I have a couple of fans and some tactical pads (from TK421propstop) as well as an Aker 1505 amp and an old iphone 5 with Troopertalk. I wore my armor around the house the other day and realized that the fans need to go in pronto. Until now, I had only wore the suit in our basement - where it is cool - the rest of the house is not as cool and I was a sweaty mess in no time at all. I also need to find a lighter weight undersuit. Anyway, I rigged my helmet up with padding, fans, powersource for fans, and mic for talk assist system. The only thing that didn't fit in the helmet was my head. So everything except the fans came out. I've ordered a new USB power source, but I'm thinking everything will need to be located elsewhere. Yeah, I have a big melon. Pending adjustments will include: adding foam to fans so they are not so loud. They are attached with Velcro and the edges are bumping up against the interior of the helmet. I need to isolate them from the helmet with some thin foam (weather stripping or even poster putty). Hearing will still be an issue but time will tell if I need to do something about that. Cut custom pieces of soft foam for the padding. The tactical foam pieces were just too thick for my melon. I was wearing the mic when I tested everything - I will need to remove the mic from the supplied headset and mount in the helmet trim back the screws that hold the helmet together and add caps of some sort to the ends. I wear a UnderArmor skull cap to catch sweat but it also does an awesome job at catching the screws as I try to cram my head into my bucket. USB power source, iphone, and aker amp will either be installed within the torso someplace or I will come up with some manner of belt/harness to wear under the amour. The 1505 amp is pretty heavy - I would rather attach it to a belt than have it stuck to the inside of the armor. To be honest, as I look at what other troopers have done with their helmets, I am shocked that they can get their heads in there. By the way, if you are new to this and debating on whether or not you should bother with a voice system - debate no more. Get one. It really adds to the trooper persona. Anyway, gotta go check my email to see if my ID# has showed up yet.

  16. Now that I had my ears trimmed up I dissembled the bucket (face plate and helmet shell) to mount the lens and move on the plasti dip spray the interior black. For mounting the lens I opted to use these small screws I picked up from Ace Hardware. I do not recall the size exactly. I than drilled a hole in the middle of my lens that came with my kit (it was cut up in some odd ball shape so I still have to clean it up a bit if not order a new lens). Than I used a dab of E6000 on the head of the screw centered it on the inside of my mask and used a magnet to hold the screw in place until the E6000 had cured completely. End result is I still need to put in the screws on the side to hold it in place and bring the lens closer to the face plate to eliminate some gaps from that can be seen from the front

  18. Congratulations on your BBB day! First thing on my mind was "a bi-colored trooper" but then realized it must be the protective foil. Good luck with that build. Helmet looks cool already.

  21. I do not have any issues. Good adhesive Velcro sticks well. As for the smell. It doesn’t linger. I did a coat, let it sit upside down on a chair outside for 30-45 minutes and did another coat, and did a few coats that way. Just strong when you first apply it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  31. I'd go to Imperial Boots.com for both, but mind you they tend to undersize boots. But in regards to all things Shoretrooper go to Pathfinder Detachment forums. They currently hold the Shoretrooper CRL, while this forum is for specifically Stormtroopers.

  32. Thanks, it's not high density is it?
    1 point
  33. The EVA is, I would guess, around 1.5mm. The tactical pads are not really putting any pressure on my head - just stopping the wobble. I have a long troop in March so I’ll report back.

  34. You may find those are a little hard on your head if you are trooping for a long time, I tried some high density foam and ended up transferring it for a soft foam If it works for you then great

  35. I went for black, self adhesive EVA sheets and cut them to size. Easy to work with and can also be used to cover any wiring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  39. The only downside we find with the self adhesive Velcro here is that with the warm the glue tends to leg go and leave a really sticky mess There used to be an automotive product I used years ago and not sure if it is still around called flock, would leave a fine fur finish, just looking and seems it's still around, I may have to try something like this one day.

  40. I used the plastic dip. Worked well, smells bad while it’s drying (not after) and needs a few coats. And yes I did mine after the fact because I was unaware of it and it’s much easier to do it before trimming. I do like the Velcro idea. It seems a bit more convenient when installing electronics. 41. Of course, but I would like to be part of the conversation, so if there is any confusion, it would be clarified it at the moment.

  42. Actually No, it all comes down to the unit leader’s decision, Being a CO and a Merchandising and Branding officer I have spoken with both Lesley and Scott about this. The Only logo that cannot be changed or have a variation is the main 501st Legion Logo, every other logo can have an official Variation. Multiple Garrisons and Detachments have made variations of their logos and all are officially Recognized. Sith Lords Detachment recently (less than 2 years) have made all of their approved characters logos variations official, Pathfinders also. The main logo stands, but members are free to choose which one they’ll use. At the end of the day the important thing is the name of the unit being represented.

  44. Jimmiroquai is the only one doing these kits that I have heard of yet... They are a combination of rigid and flexible fibreglass.

  45. Jim, I just received my kit and am very impressed with your amazing work! I'm now a believer in flexible fiberglass. I also received the perfectly tailored R1 undersuit and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. One question, would it be possible for you to include pictures of how you did your ab, cod strapping and belt assembly? This kit's a lot different than my Avonos TK and it would be really helpful to learn from your experience. Thanks in advance. I'll keep my build thread updated with progress.
