  1. Good save. :-) As per the above reference pic, you could trim the button plates a little more, with squarer edges, if you wanted to go for all out accuracy. ;-)
  2. Hiya, Don’t worry - mistakes happen. Hopefully you’re using a glue like E-6000 which is easily removed. Just gently remove the parts and trim the edges. If you want nice straight lines, use the score and snap method with a metal straight edge as your guide. :-)
  3. Great news, Luc. :-)
  4. Congrats, Arthur. What a BEAUTIFUL set of armour, and wonderfully put together. Excellent work. :-)
  5. Welcome aboard!! It's great to see how much research you have already done into EI and Centurion. That's a great starting point for a build. Regarding the painting on the helmet, it can be very rewarding to hand paint your lid. Most tend to use a stencil for the blue tube stripes on the 'cheeks', with the other part painted freehand. Although, there are also stencil/templates around for the traps and tears (the grey bits) so the options are there to suit the individual. As you already have the decals, you could perhaps try hand painting and use the decals as a fall back? As per the CRL, Tears/traps shall be hand painted or use decals that emulate hand painted (with correct ANH TK details), so either of these is allowed. Look forward to following your progress. Best wishes, Dan
  6. Hi Marcel, We’re nearly there. Could we just have a picture that shows your E-11’s d-ring, please? (Clear shot of rear of blaster). Many thanks Dan Deputy Deployment Officer
  7. Nice work, Rat. One of the team will be with you soon. In the meantime, if we could please have a photo showing the d-ring on you blaster and a well lit shot of your mic tips and vocoder. Thanks in advance. :-)
  8. Hiya. Have you signed up with the Canadian Garrison? They might have more regional zones within the forum, covering armour parties etc.
  9. Ooo, looking very Stormtroopery. :-)
  10. Haha!! Oh yes - I think the work I was looking for was “plenty”. ;-)
  11. Tactical pads work well for me. I only need 4 in my lid so planets of room for airflow, fans and mic.
  12. Hi Trever, I’m not sure about members that worked on the movies/with LFL etc., however, if you’re viewing on a browser you’ll see members’ credentials on the lefthand side, under their name. To make sense of all the logos and badges, see here; https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/43879-fisd-user-ranks-awards/ There are lots of incredibly talented members active on this forum, and you’ve already had at least two of them comment on your thread. Troopermaster (Paul) is renowned for his detailed knowledge of the original trilogy armour (mainly ANH if I’m correct) and has highlighted many areas of that armour over the year that have benefited the community. He also makes TM (Troopermaster) armour, one of the best looking armour kits on the market. Skunky (Mark) is the man behind CFO (cast from original) and is one of (if not the only) maker of ROTJ armour. Again, a lot of knowledge there. You’d also do well to follow the work of UKSwrath, JustJospeh, Sly11 to name but a few. The more time you spend on this forum, the more you will see input from influential members. Keep with it bud and you’ll have the lay of the land in no time. :-)
  13. Wow - ingenious use of that pot to double as a head filler/neck. I might send mine back and follow your method. ;-)
  14. Good tip, Brien. :-) Good to see you back. [emoji1303]
  15. Lol. This is funny to catch up on (across both threads...) [emoji6] Personally, I think that this might be better suited to different events. For example, at a smaller, family type event, a trooper is likely to be more personal/specific with their chat. I get a lot of people ask me “can we take a photo with you?” I will answer along the lines of “of course, sir/ma’am”. In that scenario, a loop wouldn’t be fitting. At a huge convention, in a massive hall, with thousands upon thousands of visitors, surrounded by tens and tens of fellow troopers, a little generic “chatter” would probably add to the ambiance. Each to their own, as always, however I have never run one and it wouldn’t really appeal to me. I like the specific interaction with people and rely on my TRamp and my bad American accent for that!! Lol
  16. In all honesty, it doesn’t look that bad in the photos. Perhaps try some natural light shots (daylight) when you can. Ref the note on the pics about the tubestripes; with a grey frown, your lid is an ANH lid. You’re right that ESB used stickers/decals for the lids, but in this case, Anovos have just done it to save time/money. :-) (Btw, you’re right about FISD - it’s a great community. [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303])
  17. +1 for the little tabs that Q suggested (in this scenario). Usually, the butt return and the lower kidney return edges butt up again each other which helps to keep the butt from riding up. As you’ve have to remove the return edge from the butt plate, it will always want to ride up. Those tabs should help prevent that. :-)
  18. Haha. Thanks, Dan. ;-)
  19. Good stuff. I can see that you have some great troopers helping you along the way. You’re not alone with the FISD behind you. ;-) Keep up the good work. :-)
  20. Nice progress so far, Taylor. Just an observation. I know it's early days and you are currently in the "tape bits up" phase, and it might just be the angle of the photos, however it looks like you might be sizing the shins and thighs a little on the big side. Usual rule of thumb is to leave around a fingers width around most limb parts (some suggest a little more around the top of the thighs for mobility), so that the armor is a nice fit to the wearer. Nice and snug around the boots is also a nice look. Here's a nice example of the fit around the boot and lower leg: Keep up the great work. :-)
  21. Impressive work, as always. :-) (Almost thought you’d forgotten us!) ;-)
  22. Welcome Trever. :-) It is believed that the six ANH “hero” helmets were made with white ABS. As above, the original 50 “stunt” helmets were made from Khaki coloured HDPE, then painted white.
  23. Congrats on your EIB. :-)
  24. Haha. No worries. Here’s an alternative method. This is my armour maker’s videos, mainly using lexan scissors. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt_lWzaSmADNiCC8TkZyfwg No right or wrong - just whichever one suits you better. :-)
