Freduster's ANH Stunt TK build (RS Props, aiming for Centurion)
CableGuy replied to Freduster's topic in ANH Build Threads
Great news - Welcome aboard! Look forward to taking those next step with you, Trooper. :-) -
I removed a coverstrip with a standard butter knife. Just take it slow and gently slide the knife to break the bond. :-)

Nice job, Daniel. Good luck with clearance. -
Hi Alex, Welcome aboard. :-) Not sure if it’s just me, however, I can’t see your images. I’d suggest using the BBCODE option on Imgur or using the free Tapatalk app to upload images. :-) Dan

That bucket is looking tasty!! :-) That’s one beautiful belt, too. Burkbench use about 8 layers of fabric to build that up, if I remember correctly. Lovely craftsmanship. Keep up the great work. :-) -
Manbehindthemask's ANH stunt build thread (RS props)

Awesome!! Congrats on clearance. I’ll keep an eye out for your EIB application. ;-) It’s a great feeling getting out there, right?! [emoji1][emoji1][emoji1] -
Ah yes. Looks like they stop a bit short. Here’s a badly drawn example of where they would usually go. The front coverstrips look a little wider than the norm. Did you aim for around 20mm? (Rule of thumb, 15mm arms, 20mm thighs and shins, 25mm calves).

Looking superb!! :-)

Hi Aaron, Mark’s right - you can get much better blasters from other sources. Based on your location, I’d perhaps check out Praetorian Blaster, Quest Design (Canada), Hyperfirm or (if you fancy a DIY build) the DoopyDoos kit. :-)

Hi Alex, Don’t let it get to you. Just keep doing your research and take it it step by step. You’ll do fine. :-) Whilst I’m not saying that this is THE way to do it, I personally found these build videos from Ross at RWA incredibly helpful. His videos go all the way from trimming the armour right through to finishing and fitting. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt_lWzaSmADNiCC8TkZyfwg Hope that helps a little. Even if you don’t follow it exactly, it give a really good understanding of what’s involved throughout the build. :-)

Hiya. It’s not too easy to see exactly where the rear ridges are from this one shot. A few more angles would probably help a little. I think this is where they should ideally be going; This shot shows the rear ridges - the ammo plate is riveted near to these ridges. Hope that all makes sense. When you can, stick up some pictures from left, right, rear etc and we’ll have a proper look. :-)

Great job. Many congrats. :-) -
You’ve made a great job of the frown paint, Mark. Not tempted to paint the whole lot? ;-)

Hi Aaron, Out of interest, do you have any further pics of your thigh ammo pack from different angles? I might be wrong, but, it looks like your pack might be a little short and attached to the wrong part of the thigh. Approximate positioning, if I’m seeing the parts I think I’m seeing. Ref

TK-42715 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status (ATA) [852]
CableGuy replied to FodiChan's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi Nicole, and thank you for your ANH-Stunt EI application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted, and I am very pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantryman (well, Infantry lady? ). On behalf of the Deployment team, congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. You’ve made a really tidy job of your armor, so the following are mainly “dressing” issues that could be easily adjusted. The following suggestions will help to take your armor another step closer to its on screen counterparts. Starting from the lid. In a few photos, the brow seems to have raised up quite a bit. We would suggest a nice even brow, possibly secured if required. Reference: The frown paint on the majority of ANH stunt helmets extended a little past the un-drilled 5th tooth. This is a really easy addition which would add to your accuracy. Example: Reference You could consider refining the tube stripes a little. As it stands, they are a little wide in comparison with screen used ANH tube stripes. As Joseph suggested, we would recommend adjusting the position of your left ear. Whilst you've made a nice job of the neck seal, it is quite different in appearance (and the materials used) to the screen used neck seals and we would suggest swapping it for something a little more accurate for level 3. I understand what you mentioned about having a little more room around the neck by having the elasticated fastening, with regards to a hint of claustrophobia. As such, I would recommend making or ordering a neck seal at least one size larger than you need. By the time you have your balaclava, neck seal and lid on, the extra size around the neck is unlikely to show, but will give you breathing room around the neck. Example We would suggest keeping a close eye on your shoulder bells. It appears that they have a tendency to twist outwards in certain photos, leaving a bigger gap around the chest/back area (depending on the photo). Checking your internal fixings would be a good start to see why they're moving. Example of shoulder bells/gaps: Raising the waist ammo belt to just covering the ab buttons will add to the look. Reference: Also, the smaller of the ab buttons should be a little smaller (possibly the bigger one, too): Reference: It looks like the outer edges of your ammo belt are lifting away from the canvas belt. Usually, the plastic ammo belt would be connected to the caves belt with fixings underneath the square plastic tabs. If there are no fixings there, this would be highly recommended. Evening out the arm spacing will really help to improve the overall look. It looks like simply raising the your right bicep a couple of inches should help out there. As your fellow troopers mentioned, keep an eye on those thermal detonator clips to see how they hold up to trooping. If they show signs of weakness, possibly consider changing them to something a little more hard wearing. This is not an issue for level 3, just an observation. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. More detailed photos will be required when you go for Centurion and will allow us to look at the finer details, however, from what we can already see a really easy fix would be to adjust the position of the drop boxes. These should line up nicely with the edge of the ammo belt, as seen here: Reference: Also, for L3 you'd want to keep an eye on the back/kidney gap. Reference It looks like Centurion was in mind when you started this build and you've done a great job so far. We look forward to seeing your Centurion application soon… -
TK73076 Requesting ANH stunt centurion status (RWA) (411)
CableGuy replied to ATAUK's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hi Dave, Welcome back to the advanced tactics section. It looks like you’ve made some of the suggested tweaks since your EIB, such as the shoulder bells and back/kidney gap, and it shows in the overall appearance. Nice work, sir. Now, let’s get to your review… CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required submission photos are now present. Tony, Joseph and I are excited to welcome you to Centurion rank. Excellent job, Dave! This marks a couple of firsts - the first RWA armour to reach Centurion featuring RWA’s new “big boy parts” and my first Centurion review as a Deputy DO. Cheers to both, Dave. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: As per your EIB review, just keep an eye on the front alignment of your thighs and shins. It looks like your left thigh wants to twist outwards to line up with your shins. Also, watch the alignment of your calves (when velcro-ing up). Now, get back to your post, TK73076!! -

Chest Plate and Ab gap with the Bracket & Loop
CableGuy replied to ocmano's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Hi Aaron, Internal strapping will not affect clearance at any level, so do what you have to make it fit. I’d agree that you could drop the chest a little, then shorten the chest to ab elastics a little. Btw, you might be best to start your own WIP thread and ask your questions in the one thread. It’ll be much easier for you to track your responses in one place. :-) Keep up the good work. :-) -
Hi Ryan, Just a little tip. It’s always recommended to do your test fitting with your undersuit on. Also, a finger’s width around the majority of parts can be helpful to allow movement (if possible). :-)
-
Excellent work. You’re right to be proud of that. :-)

Hi Aaron, Unless it’s getting some real abuse, they should last fine without. :-)
