Hey Jack, Ears are looking good. Gaps are screen accurate as every ear was hand cut and slightly different, however no one will complain if you make them without gaps. It looks like your RS ears have natural cut lines on them. I’ve tried to highlight it here; However, as Q/Glen said, take a little off then offer it up to your lid. Keep going until you’re happy. And remember, the FISD gallery and Starwarshelmets.com are a go to place for screen references. Yours are already looking promising; Keep up the good work. :-)

AP Armour - Trimmed - ANH Centurion - First Build Thread

One side of your coverstrip material should match your armour - that’s the side to have on display. :-) -
Haha! Good point! :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s personal preference, but, there are lots of inaccuracies with that E-11. Scope in the wrong place, t-tracks are too short, Hengstler is wrong etc etc. A well crafted Doopys would be more accurate to screen used examples. :-)

Hiya. Ah yes - I meant back (same as rear, really). [emoji3] -
Welcome back. :-)

Hi Dan, Nice work! Those coverstrips and your lid are looking great! If you wanted to go a little further with the detailing, here’s a couple of little bits I’ve noticed; Thigh ammo pack is a little under-trimmed at the moment - Screen ref; Also, your frown paint could extend past the in-drilled fifth hole for a little more ANH stunt magic; Ref; Keep up the good work! Dan :-)

Yep, looking good matey. :-) Following the pic that Daniel posted, you’re not far off. Btw, need me an RS lid - they are a whole load of perfectly imperfect wonky goodness. Mmmmm... [emoji39]

Tarok's Anovos ANH TK Build - TK27777 Approved
CableGuy replied to tarok's topic in ANH Build Threads
Hi Rudi, Nice progress. Looks like some tidy work! If I may, I’d highly suggest doing any and all fitting whilst wearing your proper undersuit. A tight fitting undersuit is a must for a well fitted TK. Fitting with normal clothes could lead to some unfortunate surprises when you get it all on with your undersuit. Keep up the good work. :-) Dan -

Also, if you haven’t already, check out some of the AP builds here on the forum of members with a similar frame to you. You’ll then see how they worked around it. :-) -
AP Armour - Trimmed - ANH Centurion - First Build Thread
CableGuy replied to Mr_Fahrenheit's topic in ANH Build Threads
Hi Mister Thanks for the pics. So, it looks like your an average build. As such, personally, I’d try to keep the coverstrip sizes as close to screen accurate as possible. If you go for the sizes you mentioned, it will look very disproportionate, especially compared with other troopers that you troop with. Below is a rough estimate of how they’d look. At over twice the recommended size, with your frame, they would look a little odd. So, in my opinion, I’d prioritise the top/front of the forearm as screen used armour only had the ‘ridge at the top of the forearm. Here’s a shot of screen used with approx sizes. Perhaps try cutting a 15mm coverstrip and try a test run like the picture above. Then see how much space you’d need at the back. You might be able to add an internal coverstrip at the back, with just enough room to add around 15mm coverstrips at the rear. If not, you could consider slightly larger coverstrips at the rear as the front will be more noticeable. Hope that helps a little. :-) -
AP Armour - Trimmed - ANH Centurion - First Build Thread

Hi Mister (sorry, not sure if you’ve shared your real name), To help us gauge the coverstrip situation, do you have any pictures of how the parts are sitting on you with your undersuit on? Looks like the parts are quite a standard size, but perhaps over trimmed? If so, looking at shimming the gap and keeping the coverstrips thinner could be a plan. 35mm is much wider than usual - if you are a much larger trooper, (which is fine, of course), then larger coverstrips can work in proportion to larger parts. If your armour parts will be around the average size, then such large coverstrips are likely to look out of place. But don’t worry - with more pictures I’m sure we’ll be able to advise the best looking option with what you have. :-) -
Hi Mark, Looking good overall, Trooper. To allow us to move forward with your application, we would have to ask for a couple of accuracy upgrades required by the L2 specifications of the CRL. The mesh on the Anovos Hovi tips is too fine. These would have to be swapped out for something more accurate, with white innards, for L2; Level two certification (if applicable): -Correct 'Hovi mic' aerator tips. Thermal Detonator Screws need to be swapped out for L2. Level two certification (if applicable): Clips shall be attached with slotted, pan head style screws, and be black (two per clip). We would also kindly request photos of your thigh ammo pack, inside and out, please. Hopefully some quick fixes to get us ready for your application review. Many thanks in advance. Dan

TK-17529 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status (AP) (875)
CableGuy replied to Scimitar's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hey Eric, and thank you for your EIB application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. I am pleased to confirm that your your armour displays and the required components for L2. On behalf of the DO team I would like to congratulate and welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry . Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections Honestly, there is not a lot to say in this section. You have clearly done your research and made a fine set of armour. A suggestion for a slightly cleaner look would be to bring those thighs up a little. This will help to reduce the black gaps around the cod and also give you a little more room at the knee, handy for movement. As it stands, the top return edge of your ab plate is very thick. We would suggest trimming this back to match your kidney plate. This will bring it more in line with the screen used suits. (Example below) Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. We have a few areas that will need to be resolved before applying for Centurion if you choose to do so. At this point, we cant see any obvious areas of concern. We look forward to seeing your Centurion application soon. Many congratulations on joining the ranks of EI. Back to your post, trooper... -

Hiya. Here’s a nice example of some screen used bicep and forearm coverstrips. Check out the FISD gallery for more examples. :-) Best wishes Dan :-)

Good plan of action, Greg. [emoji1303] If you wanted to add to that list, the tubestripes could be adjusted as they are currently sitting quite low (usually around a pencil width from the cheek) and the vocoder paint could be more defined. The latter will be more of a challenge, just depends how far you want to take it. :-) Happy to provide ref pics if it’s helpful. :-)

With respect, if it IS a scam (which I think we’re all pretty sure it is) and one simply gets a refund from PayPal or a credit card company, the scammers have won. This thread concerns me....
