Hi Ian Are your thighs raised as high as they’ll go? Do you have any pics with them on? I’m not sure we’ve seen pics since you glued them.

Also, be careful of breathing in too much E6000. Well ventilated room etc. Just in case. :-) -

TK-31275 Reporting for duty
CableGuy replied to cymeria's topic in Newly Approved Members - Sound Off!
Great news, Sean. I'm not too far from Hampshire so hopefully troop together soon. Are you aiming for EIB or Centurion in the future? (If so, get in there now before you get inducted. Your UKG shoulder decal will need to be removed for EIB and Centurion applications). Best wishes, Dan -

Looking great, Laura. :-) Just a little thing that caught my eye. If you wanted, you could get away with losing some thickness off of the ears. Here’s an example; Looks like clearance is just around the corner for you. Excellent build so far! [emoji1303] Dan -

Great news! Those videos REALLY helped me - I watched them quite a few times, even before my armour arrived. It makes the whole process a lot clearer. I’ll just put a disclaimer here - this is just one build method. It worked well for me but it’s worth checking other methods too, just to see which one you like most. Best wishes Dan -

Clarification and Help with posting my build

Hiya Tapatalk is a simple way to upload your posts, including pictures. Otherwise, a service like Imgur would work well. Upload your pics to your Imgur account, then copy and paste the “BBCode” link into your post. Here’s a great tutorial; https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42381-howto-post-images-in-threads-using-imgur-easy/ Hope that helps. Dan :-) -

Hi Sean, Here’s the method I used. Some would double up on the snaps (poppers), however single works okay with good quality snaps. Best wishes Dan -
Hi Adam, Sorry to hear that you’ve been having troubles. Unfortunately, this isn’t an overly cheap hobby, and there isn’t such a thing as a 501st approved kit. Even the best kits on the market need to be carefully built and fitted to the wearer to achieve 501st clearance. Certain kits are also better for different body shapes. Ie, some kits are better suited for larger troopers, taller troopers etc. I’d suggest having a look at this link for vetted sellers. These cover many different price points; To give you an idea of what’s involved and which armour types might suit you best, I’d suggest checking out the build threads: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/80-anh-build-threads/ Some amour makers will offer to make the armour for you for an additional cost. Even those built for you will need to be cleared by your local garrison. Have you signed up to your local garrison yet? That would be a great place to start your journey. Between your garrison and the FISD, I’m sure we’ll get you the information you need. Best wishes Dan

Nice one. Let the fun begin. :-) Great to hear that you’re aiming for Centurion, and that you’ve been following other builds. Sounds like you’re on the right tracks. Shout out of you have any Q’s and we’ll be happy to assist. Best wishes Dan :-) -

Looks AMAZING with the chest pack on! 10/10 for the way you’re documenting this, btw. [emoji1303]

For me, I just used the toothpick and gently chipped/scraped away any excess. Although I’ve not tried it myself, quite a few folks recommend applying the stencil, then a light coat of white paint, then the blue. This can reduce the appearance of bleed from the blue paint. :-)
-
Don’t be too worried - It’s really not that bad. With the stencils carefully applied, then applying light coats, then tidy any bleed with a toothpick. Stencil applied: Before and after toothpick corrections: Hope that helps a little. :-)

Hiya, That little gap is fine. In fact, it’s just like this screen used one: Just be careful of how far forward it is. It’s a little hard to see from your pic, however this is a good example of the ear positioning: Do bare in mind, however, that the ears will vary a little from helmet to helmet. :-)

Welcome aboard, Mr Spaceman. Another great source of inspiration is the EIB and Centurion applications. Especially those with the same armor as yours. Ask away with any questions and we’ll be happy to help. :-) Best wishes Dan
