  1. Rubies is excluded from Centurion level but not mentioned in basic and EIB. So, as long as it meets basic and EIB, it should be fine. Here is the ANH Stunt CRL for reference; http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt
  2. Congrats, Trooper. :-)
  3. What a wonderfully presented application! Best of luck for approval. :-)
  4. Hi Mark, Gotcha - I see what you mean. Mine has triggered a couple of times at huge events like MCM. :-)
  5. I’d agree with the others that there isn’t really one that sounds like a stormtrooper, as such. You’ll have to adapt your voice to the voices heard in the movies. Ie, tone and accent. Regarding units to use, I have TRamp and it’s a good unit. The static bursts are not cannon but do add to the illusion that it’s some kind of CB system. They’re not random - they are using a noise gate of sorts so only kick in when it senses that you’ve stopped taking. I’ve also just purchased an Aker 1505 and it sounds a little deeper (bassy) than TRamp. Still sounds good though.
  6. Good for you, Rat. I’m sure you’ll do a great job. :-)
  7. Thanks to some encouraging feedback, I’ll be offering this type of helmet as commission builds in the not too distant future. As with this build, carefully constructed to emulate the majority of screen used Stunt helmets, sprayed following the originals processes, with hand painted detailing. More details to follow.
  8. Tubestripes look really good - great job. :-) Best of luck for L3, and well done for returning to it and making those tweaks. Centurion is not far away. :-) Best wishes Dan
  9. Hehe. Yes, that’s why they’re so awesome. ;-)
  10. Hiya. The only maker I know of that supplies a separate vocoder with their helmets is SDS on their Battle Spec. I’d perhaps try them. :-)
  11. Good work, Eric. Sounds like a busy, but very successful, year. :-)
  12. Great post, Paul. So true. Many thanks for your contributions, Glen. As others have said, your advice is always accurate, helpful, and welcomed by fellow troopers. Keep up the amazing work. :-)
  13. Hi all, As we’re all sharing helmet pics (WIPs, clearance etc.), I thought I’d share a little photography tip for anyone that wants to give it a go; As many of us use smart phones to quickly snap out progress, holding the camera too close to the subject will cause some distortion, leading the the helmet looking “droopy”. Try taking a couple of steps back and zooming in - this will look much closer to how the human eye sees it. :-)
  14. Hi Brian, No - as I mentioned right at the beginning, it might be mentioned as a ‘suggestion’ but should not prevent you from Centurion (in my opinion). Hope I haven’t panicked you - it was purely meant as an observation and as a future accuracy upgrade, IF you wanted to. :-) Regarding size, you’ve fitted the armour to yourself really well. That’s the most important thing and you look great. :-)
  15. Hi Brian, Apologies if I’ve confused the issue. Link above updated. Just to clarify, you don’t have to change your belt. The CRL is not this specific. This was just a point of interest for you and any other prospective troopers that there is a visual difference between this belt and screen used. As Daniel (theSwede) mentioned, this will not cause you issues for clearance, but could be a nice upgrade if you choose to do so down the line. Best wishes Dan
  16. Here’s an example of a really nice one. I believe they are 8 layers total. https://www.facebook.com/burkbenchdesigns/
  17. Great job in the TD, Brian!! :-) The belt will likely get you through, just might be mentioned by the DOs as a suggestion for greater accuracy. There was talk of prohibiting the central support structure with the recent CRL updates but this doesn’t appear to have been implemented. :-)
  18. Btw, CRL pics are okay, however, don’t forget either starwarshelmets.com and the screen used armour/helmets in the gallery. :-)
  19. Hi Mark, Frown looks good. :-) The shape of the vocoder is okay and should pass fine. If you wanted to, you could extend the 2nd and 6th bars as many Stunt helmets had that look; Regarding the neck opening, you should easily be able to trim to the pencil line you have. If you have additional shots of your helmet (ideally from a few feet back), we can see whether you could trim any neck opening around the back, if required. :-)
  20. Nice work, Brian. Just a couple of things that I don’t think have been mentioned; - thermal detonator end cap look a little big (without measurements, I’d guess that the end caps are around a third too big and are affecting the proportions of the TD) if you trimmed them down, the clips would also have to be moved outwards - screen used belts were usually a closer colour match to the armour and also didn’t have the thick support structure in the middle - this could be a future upgrade if you fancied higher accuracy Good luck with approval. Shouldn’t be too difficult for you as you’ve done a nice job overall. :-)
  21. No worries mate. If they’re the correct ones for the armour, they should fit okay. The bridges only need a few mils. Post it on your UKG thread when we get to that stage. :-)
