  1. I believe I have the only lid ever pulled, and it's already weathered. I had hoped to make another suit to match, but life pulls me in other directions. I'd only be willing to sell it if someone will commit to seeing this through. Note that since the helmet is weathered your suit will need to be as well, unless you want to strip the helmet and start the paint process all over again.
  2. In big bold letters - no suit can really claim to be 501st approved, until it's been fitted to the wearer. You can take a TM or RS suit and make is to that it is not 501st approvable. You can take an FX plop an AP helmet on it and it can be totally 501st approved. So any claim referencing 501st or FISD should be ignored. The other "tell" for AM is that the chest/back are massive and very angular, and if you have a pix of AM compared to a TE derived one it's very easy to spot.
  3. The faceplate still looks wrong to me from the front. At C6 one of the vendors also had a TKC helmet on display. While OK, they had the ear paint completely wrong - it was just an ANH with a stripe of blue paint. For this reason I stay away from commercially made TK helmets - they never seem to get all the details right, and if I had more money than time/skills there are plenty of great builders on this forum where I can get a pre-built for the same price that is head and shoulders more accurate in appearance.
  4. Congrats on getting approved! As noted pre-built armor is never perfect out of the box (speaking as someone who has gone this route multiple times), so I'm glad to see you didn't have that expectation. A few tweaks as suggested are always in the spirit of helping you look your best, and even if people build their own it takes several goes usually to iron out the kinks (as any GML can attest). The big part is that you are enjoying your kit and have years ahead of you having fun trooping. As for the snipes - you folks - and you know who they are - button it. You can create your own thread for venting else you know what the consequenes are. Stay on target folks...and happy trooping.
  5. I think it was a matter of not having them flap around. I trooped as a TD and we were told no packs/BFG's, just pouches/pauldrons. I'm sure it was either that or else that what they wanted in the TK ranks was uniformity, and they may have realized that if not everyone had one, then no one would. Maybe someone from A Co or Flag Co will remember.
  6. Nice! Though I have to confess to me they look like zip codes. I'd much preferred if they did a format extra like shown in the Clone Wars novels, e.g. TK-12/345. I'm waiting for Trooper 90210 Wondering how many people will pick their zip codes now for their TKID.
  7. Hmmm...I got a new member DAMIT notification yesterday with a 4 digit ID (I'm a GML too)...
  8. A basic IC is the way to go. It's just a jumpsuit (buy, but needs tailoring) with cog patches, cap (buy), belt (buy), and boots (buy). There are only two greeblies that are cheap - one on the buckle and one for the hat. Can be done for $150 or so, with the boots being 1/3rd to 1/2 that cost. OK, maybe $200 for a good IC at most. Yes, you can add code cylinders, compads, belt boxes, and gauntlets, but these are options for base 501st and not required elements.
  9. 4 mille - not something to be taken lightly. And most were very helpful posts to members (as opposed to me too).
  10. Congrats on being #250. This is quite a milestone for the program and you can now claim you were in that first big batch. 250 - that's larger that almost every garrison! Well done
  11. Wow, this is looking really good. I'm not an electronics guy, but perhaps you can canabalize something from a toy blaster?
  12. Congrats Karin! And also, thanks for recognizing the works of the pioneeers in this field who started the path away from hard plastic hands. You've enabled many to live their dreams.
  13. You are indeed the first Centurion in our garrison, but I hope to have this changed fast. We have a lot of EI & close to EI folks - it would not be hard to have a "centurion party" on a weekend and get a good number of folks over the top. Maybe someone with space can host? ;-)
  14. I don't think they did. When you see them in helmets off pictures on the Tantive IV or even the sandtroopers, they all are sans balaclavas.
  15. It's a permissions issue, and I can't remember what it is. We had this once before - wish I could remember how to fix it.
  16. Next stop - Centurion. You'd be the first in Titan and I think you'll be a good pass there too!
  17. Thanks for getting this together Ingrid - you're work is noted by the Emperor himself
  18. All the best Mathias. I hope it's been an enjoyable and relaxing birthday for you, and wish you many more.
  19. I suspect an easy pass - you look great Todd!
  20. Keep frosty gents - the staff is aware and working on this, and we'll have a resolution before C6 is concluded.
  21. g-man31 is a person on EBay that is buying and selling Legion merchandise at inflated rates. Two are being sold, one is an FISD 5th Anniv ----------- The other is an old silver one: --------- He is Greg Laws (Lawson?) who has been running a scam asking Legion members to donate items for his kid, but instead he's turning around and selling them on eBay at inflated prices and making a mint. This is one bad dude - don't be duped!
  22. Wish it were mine - stunning
  23. Never used one, don't seem to miss it. In the end it's a personal decision.
  24. Billy is right. They should be added to the Xml file in chronological order, and their EI numbers assigned in the date order in which they were approved. Actually for the Xml file it's not much of a difference as you can sort by granted date, but the real crux is that EI numbers for sure have to be granted in the order in which they were approved. Good catch Billy!!!
