And you feel that unfettered recasting of anyone's kit, anytime is a good thing. How's your recasting of TM coming along?

Sure are. Nice try for fish Rob.
  3. I think you guys do. Congrats to you Henrik, you do the Nordic Garrison proud.
  4. Doesn't get any better than that. I was 9 when I saw the Tantive IV being run down and our boys in white blasting their way in to the ship. From that moment I wnated to be a stormtrooper, and it was the first action figure I ever had (wish I still had one now).
  5. +1 and this is what I do. Though I've seen some people cut the cod and make it removable, what can happen is that since it's no longer rigid with the ab plate you can get the "happy trooper" effect, where it angles out.
  6. If you are applying as new to the Legion or are going from retired to active, the suit won't pass. If a person from 15 years ago has worn that suit and never had a break in service, it would still count. There is not a single costume from 15 years ago that would be approvable now. Heck, when I joined to be a Legion sandtrooper you could be an HWT with dirt and voila - sandtrooper! What is base CRL now for sandtroopers is what MEPD deployed standards were back then.
  7. Talon as it at least looks Star Wars. Arica could be a super hero costume - on one really would know who you are at an event.
  8. 100%, absolutely agree We gain nothing in tearing each other down, and everything by working together.
  9. Totally understood Matt and this is worth highlighting. I'm sure Rob is a decent fellow and as you note has years of excellent service to the Empire under his belt. I don't think anyone really meant to say he was a knob in truth. Still, it's worth the thought though on how the CG can be perceived by people outside the garrison in how it treats new members, especially considering the posture is different from most of the Legion operates. Is this a good thing, bad thing? I can't answer that as it's not my garrison, so I withold judgement as every garrison is free to do as it wills. That said on the flip side, it would be great if more members of the CG would present their opinions on why they think their current process is beneficial to new and existing members, as if it's really a good idea then maybe others can benefit.
  10. Well, sounds like the Canadian Garrison and their CO is in the minority. I can't think of any other garrison that handles new people this way. Then again, it's for these kinds of reasons that FISD was created. Can't get local help - then sign on here matey and we'll get you 100% squared away
  11. Yeah, that's very much an exception as normally you can't transfer just because you "don't get along". If garrison's aren't geographically based, then what's the point of having them? The whole reason is to provide a local command structure esp. for event requests.
  12. It's possible, however... What he is asking for is usually only done in situations like say someone in northern Idaho who regularly troops with Havoc squad (part of Garrison Titan) rather than driving down to Boise and trooping with their geographical garrison. My understanding is that one can only do this if they regularly troop with said garrison due to the distances involved. Else I could have my membership moved to the UKG if I wanted to, or the China Outpost, which makes no sense at all.
  13. On the plus, as long as you have an acceptable costume, troop once, and are over 18, they really can't deny you membership because they "don't like you". Once in, as long as you troop once a year and keep your head down, there's not much they can do either. There is no rule people have to be one big happy family. I don't get along perfectly with everyone in my garrison, but it's a "to each their own" kind of thing. I am surprised by your reception though - sounds very un-Canadian. Fortunately, there are other Canadian Garrison members here who can help ensure you're taken under wing.
  14. Makes me want to live in the UK - you guys get all the cool TK stuff. And Billy Haggis Well done!
  15. Looks a bit dodgy to me. Best ship it to me directly as I'm just not really getting a feel for it from the photos. j/k - it's a real work of art, in every sense of the word.
  16. LOL - yeah get back to pulling kit. Terrell - you've been an integral part of FISD for so long, and as my XO kept me sane during the various flame wars, recastor debates, DIY, and LSD incidents. I've have gone postal long ago, and your insight and friendship to me and everyone else on FISD is exceptional. Here's to 5000 more.
  17. The undisputed Queen of Handguards, you've done more that just that. You're tireless commitment and support for FISD, the 501st Legion, and troopers worldwide have earned you much respect and appreciation. May your days at FISD be long, indeed.
  18. If you want to be uber-accurate, the it should be bakelite, e.g. solid brown in color. However many people use a woodgrain as it can be more pleasing to the eye.
  19. SithArmor at least is a reputable person for over a decade of good products. He is the same person behind tkboots.com and shoulderpauldrons.com, among other things. Also used to go by the ebay handle nutsaboutpins.
  20. So basically, this is the "basic" trooper base that could be used for the ICN & TKC, right? E.g. you take this, add some red or blue paint and voila! TKC/ICN. Ideally it would be that way, as that seems what's intended. As noted, artists are not TK experts, and make compromises due to time, budget, or simply lack of knowledge. I'm sure with unlimited amounts of each, there'd be no pixilating/sharp edges and we'd get what is seen in EPII/EPIII realistic animation.
  21. Best feeling ever eh? Enjoy your first troop and take plenty of photos
  22. Or when you are traveling by airplane in coach...
