  1. Awesome!! Pinning so it won't get buried in the future
  2. Is that the same that was being sold at C6? If so the ears weren't painted correctly. Very lazy...
  3. Perhaps Tom will allow this - it's in his hands now.
  4. FTW!
  5. Wow, someone plugged the professor in to the hyperdrive! Well done Locitus FWIW, these are not space troopers. They are ANH TK's with a space pack. Space Troopers are huge and hard to do and are found on Spec Ops.
  6. Then we should decide at what point to put these for a vote. I'd also suggest making the "effective" date about 30 days out from time the vote ends to allow in-progress Centurion applications to finish their work in progress. Since the elections are soon and there will be an email blast out to the membership, I'd suggest we include this one as well to maximize the voting potential and bring light to this issue. My $.02...
  7. As noted we mention other armor makes as well. Why not start with at least the things we all agree on? E.g. No AM/FX chest/back pieces for instance, then go from there. Time was when the FX helmet was allowed even for EIB, and the first time we tried to get rid of it the vote failed. Next year it passed. I think it's worth calling out, and we can at least start with the worst pieces and work from there. No board shorts should be part of the base CRL. People's thighs should properly fit as a base requirement. And, armor makers do change their molds based on our standards. Both RT & Mr. FX did. I think it's OK to start adding things like swoops to shoulder bells. Lastly, I'll break this out as a separate thread, we should move to only allow changes to standards once a year. Otherwise it's a moving target, and I'm getting complaints from folks who are in process that they are frustrated that they are near Centurion and that requirements may change from under them. Would that work? Let's face it - out of the box AM and FX should slowly phase out from Centurion. I think we can all agree on that - we should instead put positive pressure on the armor makers to make better kit for big troopers. We have before, and it worked out. Lastly, as long as we're tweaking standards we should clarify - no yellow armor!
  8. Well, any make can do the job really. CFO would be easiest as it's already ROTJ, but he costs a lot compared to other makes. If you can't go CFO due to cost, then TM is even more out of the question as it's the most expensive of the lot.
  9. Zero gap is not required. Per the CRL: ideally there should be no gap between the ab and kidney plates, just a single visible seam line. So ideally you're right, but it's not mandatory and not all screen seen TK's had zero gap.
  10. Love the new one
  11. Hi Dennis, Flagship Eclipse doesn't need an above-and-beyond program as the standards for EU SL's are already at very high levels. Alas, the TK seems to have a *very* vocal group that is heavily represented on the Legion Council that will block, rant, and otherwise try to prevent any upgrades to the TK CRL. If you've ever had access to the LC areas of the Legion boards, you can review older threads and it's amazing to see. I think we're all in agreement that there is an unmet need at the top and are now just trying to see if we should use Centurion for that or something else. I can see merits to both sides, though I kinda like Brian's idea that recognizes the "ultimate" that really isn't meant to be attainable by many, or at least that many will not desire to attain it. And, I like your idea of having a review committee, much like SWAT over at MEPD. If this is to be the ultimate in TK costuming, then a panel makes sense. Thanks for being open to Brian's ideas - right now it seems the way to go, and can be done separately from our L1/L2/L3 Legion programs. Lastly, just so it's not lost, while there is special benefit from recognizing and working with the top of the costuming club, my only concern is this is not done at the expense of us losing focus on the other 90% of the Legion TK's. Creating a high mark is a great first step, but the real work is getting those near the bottom up to a higher par.
  12. I'd like to see a 3rd trooper in the graphic as I think it would lend more of the squad type of feeling. For text, we're actually the 1st Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment. FISD is an acronym, but "First" is not our name. Lastly, as Terrell notes there are a few Legion branding guidelines to add, but these should be minor. The overall look is solid. All I ask is that it's available in something other than black. I must have 30 black t-shirts.
  13. Lastly, in the end as with all upwards changes to the Centurion standards, it should go before a vote of the det. Honestly, if the majority of FISD chooses to toss out FX/AM for Centurion, well then it's probably time they were disallowed. This is the same path we followed for buckets. Dennis - if you want to call for a vote now, I don't see why we couldn't have one. With the emergency elections, this is probably the best time to get people to vote for anything as long as they are on the boards.
  14. Dennis - where it comes in to play is that not everybody can fit in to TE derived armor. What is someone who is 6'4" to do? Until you give them an option for their size, while I agree your statements are in the right direction, it's pretty discriminatory. Not everyone is built like you, no? We allow 6' jawas in the Legion too, and Vaders who are 5'10" (or shorter). Rather than calling out a particular maker, why not call out the detail that bothers you? This way people may be able to make modifications that suit the accuracy bar.
  15. In the end, if you think you can do a good job, go for it. RT & AM (and even the original FX) were all fan sculpts, as was Kev's ANHv2 helmets. Others have used TE type armor as a base and modified them from there. For most it's quite intimidating, but then clone armor is all fan sculpt too, so it's not like it can't be done, or hasn't been done. If you really go down that route, do keep progress pix of the molds.
  16. OK, I'll work on a short patch run then.
  17. I have a bunch of red ones left. I will work with the next DL (Tom I presume) to see if I can do a quick run to toss off what I have. Else the next scheduled run is around Christmas.

Good one! Yeah, you know some in the Legion believe dets exist for the sole purpose of cranking out merch?
  19. I love the hero look! Actually you can see them elsewhere besides Luke/Han. The trooper saying "The ships all yours", plus one of the troopers escorting Leia on the Tantive IV. The bubble lenses usually do suck, but Mike Appling made a set for me that I could see out just fine. Not sure what he did differently, but it can be done. Still my dream - full on TM Hero!
  20. Have you asked Rom himself? he's usually good about getting back to people. Never heard of this issue - usually they are top shelf.
  21. My only concern for doopys is it's resin. How will you feel when it's dropped? I guess that's why I stick with hyperfirm - not overly detailed from 5' away, but looks the part from 10' and they never break. Still, we all go through several blasters in our days and having > 1 is good as there is no perfect one. I'm getting big on de-milled, but then I never holster mine anyway so the weight is not an issue.
  22. Looking good! Would you havea a shot of your biceps? I ask in that the one on the CRL is not fully correct. Are you going to stay clean, or dirty it up a bit?
  23. I'd do it if only I knew where to get another set of white armor...
  24. Todd has dibs - let's see if he's going to go for it, if not then Jim you're next in line.
