  1. Congrats and well done, some nice detail work there
  2. There are a few guys that use the same picture, didn't know it was yours, your website wasn't working so who knew. Lots of random non copyrighted photos of TK's out there on the www lol
  3. Looking forward to the new project, I know a lot of guys that had tried your old website and it was a shame they couldn't get to it as you had a nice build there.
  4. I have the same and I agree not very accurate
  5. I have seen some pretty large back cover pieces, even some triangle shaped ones, but really you are doing the best thing making the front and rear match. Shame about having to wait for more ABS but it will be worth it in the end. Keep up the good work
  6. Looking good, I had the same problem with my forearms, just place two small pieces of foam inside and added a little super glue. Just make sure they are far enough up the arm so they don't stop your gloves going inside.
  7. Looking good, your thighs could do to come down a little.
  8. Also the fitment is not aligned properly it should follow the ridge underneath, also the ammo belt on the other knee is too high up, should be riveted in top corner and aligned with the ridge on the side. Good luck with approval.
  9. Those side projects can keep us busy lol. Now hurry up and get back to work, I am waiting to congratulate you
  10. Really!, have you had a good look at TM armor, very nice indeed, it is on my wish list
  11. Good luck team for the year ahead, TK85421 ready to serve
  12. Be aware that not all armor makers use the same ABS and there can be a difference in colour, I have just seen the difference between TM and ATA and you do notice when the piecs are right next to each other. Also you build the armor to fit you, have a look through some of the build threads to see the differences in body size and shapes and the different armors used.
  13. Glue down at the front, depends on what armor maker you have but usually 1 large and 4 small ridges (ata can only fit one large and 3 small ridges due to the chest). Make sure that it sits over the back plate in the right postion, before gluing taped the straps on, wore the armor and looked at the back of the straps in the mirror, once happy I marked around the front of the straps with a pencil. If you find the back of the straps sit too high you can apply some heat and bend them slightly.
  14. Yes you can tweak the ABS with some heat but it takes a bit of practice and no it doesn't ruin the finish. I have ATA and am 6 feet and 67kg, for the arms and legs you can make larger or small finish strips depending on your size. Most armor makers sell full kits of armor the odd one will sell you a part. Building is entirely up to you but for basic approval you need to at least build to the base CRL's. Some build for comfort, some build for absolute screen accuracy, I built for centurion as I wanted to have the most of the small details you get to see in the films but with comfort and durability. You could have intoduced yourself in the new members section just to make everyone aware that you are here
  15. Very nice indeed, good luck with approval
  16. I have just recieved one of TM's grappling hook boxes and when you sit it next to ATA armor you can tell the difference in the colour but it is slight, the gloss would be the same. I don't think you would get away it if it was a replacement part of the armor but as it is the lid and seperate from the rest of the armor I don't think people would really notice.
  17. If you watch when TK's are running down some of the hall ways you can pick out the occasional hero helmet here and there. I look at the movies so much more differently after building my TK, I now tend to look for all the differences, mistakes and quirks, stormtroopers holding their helmets so they don't fall off or running away as their should bells fall off LOL.
  18. If you are buying from ATA the lid comes with correct mic tips and lens. Karin's handplates are great, I bought the raw version so I could paint them myself and that allows for some weathering as on screen seen handplates. Gloves came from local supermarket cleaning section, Humbrol paints for local toy shop. If you or your wife are good at sewing you can make your own belt and neck seal, holsters are quite easy to make too.
  19. And just in case you haven't read the above, stay away from ebay
  20. From the front it looks slightly off but that may just be the photo, but sides are the most important to get right, make sure the ends have the same profile as the ridge angle
  21. All I know for sure is Luke on the left has the grappling hook, he is also the TK who pretends his com's are faulty outside the falcon. Hear is a nice photo of both Luke and Han ----------
  22. ATA can supply you with the hero ears, they only have three bumps. You can purhcase a hero upgrade kit on the forum and some members on the make bubble lenses, but the hardest part of the hero version would be the outer teeth need to be filled. For a complete hero lid I would go for TM
