  1. Getting off to a good start, can't wait for the rest of your build, good luck
  2. I have snaps, hammer, elastic, super glue, 5 min epoxy, heat glue and gun, and if all else fails I have white duct tape, have not needed any of it as yet
  3. Congrats Sam and welcome to the the ranks, now you can come to the dark side LOL
  4. Looking good, I am quite slim and I am getting inspired, I do have a freind who wants me to join the rebel legion, how cool would a C3PO be . vac metallizing would be my choice if you are going to all this trouble it would be worth while in the end
  5. Lucky I was only crossing my fingers and not holding my breath lol, Congrats Sam well done, now fix that belt and onto next application
  6. There are a few different ways to attach the snaps here you can glue the nylon directly to the ABS. You should use elastic between your arms and thighs as it will alllow a little movement
  7. Just check what elastic you are using, there are two types, as I found out lol, one does not allow very much side stretching the other is not as tight and easily stretched. You may also find that your bell elastic is just too tight, also check your arm elastic it may be too short and pulling the bells down too much. .
  8. There where so many versions in the movie, different scopes, placed differently, with or without power cylinders, listen to Vern he is a blaster guru
  9. You will drop your money on something you think will be ok and regret later, save you money, save up a liitle more then buy an awesome armor and never look back
  10. Very nice documentaion, this will be handy for future newbies, well done
  11. Looking good, it's great that the will send out the lid while you wait for the armor, gives you something to go on with
  12. Hello and welcome aboard, the info you need is in here
  13. Just wondering what you will use for the top coat, will it be shinny as on screen. I have seen on some autormotive shows that they use a liquid chrome finish on some paint jobs, they apply several different coats and the last one it basically a wet wash. I suppose if you used something like this and went over with a few coats of a tinted yellow/gold clear paint and this would give you the gold effect.
  14. I soldered wires to the back of the speakers and just used common connectors to run to the jack, you an buy these jacks and connectors at the electronics shops too.
  15. Another great troop Charles, wish we do more over this end of the world, well done
  16. A great start to your build, getting everything ready before your armor definately helps once it gets there. Have a think about building to EIB and Centruion requirements as it is easier to do this from the get go. Good luck with the build
  17. Nice setup, yup covering with latex is just what I thought also, keep up the good work
  18. Just went to my local electronics shop Jaycar, you can buy online I am sure you will have similar in the US

  20. Very cool, just watch out for the really hot troops I made a push to talk switch which I had in my glove and due to sweating the switch gave up, I may try to cover the new one so it is fluid proof
  21. Thanks guys, been four days and I am still on a high, the long wait between approval to troop is now just a memory
