  7. Desert Scorpion Squad Troop Report Event..Telethon Commercial Channel 7, Elizabeth Quay, Perth City, Western Australia, 29th August 2016 Troopers..gmrhodes13 TK85421 / Liz TB13310 / DV64 Stuart SL51164 Report..Arrived at nearby car park about 9am and kitted up.Made our way to Elizabeth Quay ready for a 10am start. We enjoyed a pre production hot beverage and received several requests from young and old for photos. Channel 7 had pulled out all stops. We were provided with a change van, savoury muffins, croissants and a personal assistant for the the next hour or so during filming.I asked why Vaders name was not on the door, the assistant was not sure what to say. We were there to be part of a small crew of costumers to take part in the production of a commercial for the upcoming Telethon Kids Carnival which is sponsored by Bendigo Bank. Nat,the Telethon organiser and Sadie the Producer welcomed and thanked all of us for our time. Rehearsals commenced and then we moved into filming...take 1,take 2,take 3.....take 47,well it felt like it however everyone remained up beat as we all wanted the best possible outcome for Telethon. In between takes we were at times offered breaks during which members of the public swooped in for photo requests.About an hour or so later ,filming was over, that's a wrap. Now fingers crossed we don't end up on the cutting room floor, well they don't have cutting room floors anymore however you get the drift. All of this report is true except for the van, muffins, croissants and assistant. As there was no van there was also no door to put any name on it however everyone had a great time. 10. DSS TROOP REPORT EVENT: Zing Grand Opening LOCATION: Westfield Carousel, Albany Hwy Cannington, Western Australia DATE: 27th July TIME: 6pm-9pm LANDSCAPE/WEATHER: Indoors TROOPERS: TK4582 - Michael - Chivo IC36367 - Luke - Verfolger TI4748 - Ken - Zander SL98593 - Garry - GAZMAN TR40515 - Mellisa - Miss Red TD84001 - Tahlee - Tahlzy TK85421 - Q - gmrhodes13 WRANGLER: Liz REPORT: Troops started arriving from 5pm, changing area was split into two small rooms as at the last minute EB Games was told to stay open so we lost our main change area. As soon as members got kitted up they hit the crowds for photos as people had started to gather from 2pm that day, many of those after that hard to find collectable and the 20% off storewide, the line went all around the food court. At 6pm Sammy the manager gave a small speech and after a 10 second countdown Lord Vader cut the ribbon with his lightsaber, a loud bang and falling confetti and the crowds started rolling in. Lots of photos taken, high fives given and a large amount of trooper dancing to the DJ's tunes. As it started to get quiet we called it a night at 8.30 and kitted down. A great opening night for Zing, thanks for having us along. MISSION STATUS: complete REPORT BY: TK85421
