LEGOeatPokemon's TM Snowtrooper Build
gmrhodes13 replied to LEGOeatPokemon's topic in Other 501st Costumes
Looking forward to seeing the build I've not seen E6000 plus so can't help with info there. Some reviews on this Amazon page, down the bottom https://www.amazon.com.au/E6000-Plus-570110-Adhesive-Clear/dp/B07QJDJYC6 With ESB blasters for Snowies there are a few options Standard ESB Stormtrooper style, no counter or hengstler Promo/ROTJ style More images in this thread A few options for purchasing, recently these have been mentioned 3D printed Quest Designs (not sure if they can do an ESB style) https://www.questdesigncanada.com/collections/frontpage/products/star-wars-stormtrooper-e-11-blaster-prop-replica-stormtrooper-v3 And JMC looks to do the ROTJ style greebles https://www.facebook.com/Troopercoola https://www.facebook.com/groups/300153641472608 -
Unless you pay for photobucket you won't be able to use, most of us use Imgur as it's free A bit hard to comment without a photo but I have seen quite a few people add velcro to the middle section of the belt to help keep it up. If you make sure there is an upwards angle on the belt on the sides you will find this keeps the belt in place and tight, as it sits into the curve of the back and when tight won't sag. This image is of my TFU but it shows the belt angle on the sides, notice the angle upwards towards the rear and also the belt sitting in the curve of the back, when tight it can't slip at the front

Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks -
This info was posted by Paul "Troopermaster" The brow trim is 15mm tall and the neck is about 10mm tall. The trim has a 2mm channel gap on one side and a 4mm channel gap on the other. The trim is mounted on the helmet using the 2mm gap and the thicker side is on the inside. Chris DPRO from UKG posted this info The stuff most use round this way is SW150 http://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/shopping.asp?intDepartmentId=4 There are a few threads with comparisons but unfortunately no longer have active image links There is a thread here

Tim’s first time build (RS Prop Masters ESB TK)

As the ear will cover it you wouldn't even need to fill that hole. If you really want to tape behind before applying ABS paste. I always advise to use self tapper screws for test assemble before using rivets. For drilling rivets out use a sharp bit with a slow speed and make sure you grip behind with a pair of pliers -
Have you thought of just running one fan at a time, that's all I use and it's enough even on the hottest troop, I keep the second charged and read in case I need to switch over, but that's only at very long weekend events.

SageLeader's TFA FOTK Build (Walt's Trooper Factory)
gmrhodes13 replied to sageleader's topic in TFA Build Threads
You can still see a little trim edge remaining, "the step" or "lip" if you know what I mean, I would take this off. Also finishing sanding with a finer sandpaper will help stop the sanded area from cutting/grinding into your gaskets. I finish with a 400 grit. -

Some great references in the gallery sections Some glue their clips prior paint some after painting, just depends on what paint you will be using and how it covers, I use automotive acrylic paint which dries quite quickly so very rarely drips in raised/sharp areas while enamel based paints take longer and you may find drip and run

HOWTO: Super clean helmet electronics/interior build
gmrhodes13 replied to kamikaze's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
I have also seen a sticky backed felt used before and sticky backed soft velcro, I've often wondered how these would hold up, at times it can get pretty wet and sweaty in the bucket and no doubt some would soak in. A few other options Self adhesive EVA sheets I ran across this mod, his helmet used plasti dip and cheesecloth A good idea also is when using padding to have that on velcro for ease of removal and washing -
Themaninthesuitcase F-11D Standard build
gmrhodes13 replied to themaninthesuitcase's topic in Weapons of the First Order
TLJ mods are looking great, nice work on these. Apart from the never ending 3D print sanding fixing issues with the printers is the next biggest pain, you can be on such a good roll then a disaster, but some time and a little patience then it's back to running up the power bill Good luck with the fixes. -
These are awesome and there was one I especially enjoyed, thank you for that one, gave me a great lift on a down day I hope we see more get on board with these and if you don't mind we may feature some in the newsletter

ShadyP's FOTK built thread (Backstage Props - preorder FOTK)
gmrhodes13 replied to ShadyP's topic in TLJ Build Threads
At least purchasing a full yoke front/back and chest you should be able to get these over your original abdomen. Unfortunately you will have to fill the seam between the yoke and backplate and the two cylinder detonator sections, no getting away with this as most kits are assembled this way. I used JB weld which is sandable and a little stronger than using bondo/filler. There are a couple of Walt builds but as yet I don't think I have seen anyone tackle these pieces in assembly. -
