  1. Hello.and welcome aboard there can be a lot of differences in color from one maker to another, even the same maker can have different shades it all depends on what they are supplied. I would recommend contacting your local garrison and hopefully see the color of other suppliers armors, you can contact your local Garrison and hopefully see some ABS from other makes in person, you can find your local Garrison here https://www.501st.com/maps/ Also take note of our CRL's as they do change from time to time and you may need to make updates , you can find them here https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL
  2. Looks like you don't have a central trim line on the left image, the right has, normally you try to centralise your trimming something to take note of with trimming other pieces, not as important with your biceps but will be when you trim your thighs as the bottom ridge is exposed and covered with a strip.
  3. Have you tried reaching out to your local Garrison, many have armor build days, you can search here https://www.501st.com/maps/

  5. Hello and welcome aboard. If there is any differences in your cods this would be for the TFA and TLJ versions, there are a few things different depending on what version you build. Can't go past @ukswrath FOTK build And also @sillyface When in doubt head to our gallery sections https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/category/20-fotk-reference/ Good luck with the build

  7. Those helmet clips look difficult to remove, appear them are either molded in or painted after assembly
  8. Very nice Joseph
  9. Getting close now, just remember the better the base the better the finish, the more time you put into prep will make for a better outcome
  10. Hello and welcome aboard, this isn't the cheapest hobby around, especially if you are seeking 501st costume approval. Here is a great thread full of useful links
  11. Getting very close
  12. Great news, the sheer excitement, then later that day, the panic sets in

  14. Not many do this mod so don't stress to much, it won't affect higher level clearance, same as how many tabs are on the chest, not an issue
  15. Beautiful work, came out a treat, if I would recommend anything to tweak it would be your left ear, the ear is a little more on an angle than a lot of references references
  16. Could be my eyes but the top spat isn't split the same as the bottom spat, should only have one opening and that should be under the clip, both appear to be open towards the back, also the back seam is present in the references but glued closed, I guess if you could keep them completed closed it would be ok but the front under the clip should be able to open References
  17. A few threads which may be helpful, some trimming and reworking pieces https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38416-crickets-rs-stunt-build-for-the-vertically-challenged/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38842-fragarocks-rs-stunt-build-not-to-scale/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42868-sha-shas-wtf-anh-stunt-build-complete/

  19. This would be a good one to add to the compilation, I did have a look but only one coffee so far so I may have missed it
  20. Bit hard to see in the images but try to have no gaps between the lower ridges of the thigs If you have any gaps you can always add a small strip of ABS behind or fill with ABS paste or Sugru or other similar product Examples of filled gaps in screen used ridges
  21. Just an FYI you will find that ATA armor does not allow the shoulder straps to be placed the same as the original armor was, normally there is one larger tab and 4 to 5 smaller tabs, with ATA the chest ridges is higher so it's not really possible to get more than 1 large tab and 2 to 3 smaller tabs, Screen accurate 1 large tab and 4-5 small tabs Only image I have of one of my ATA, you can just make out 1 large tab and 3 small tabs And note the lower amount of ridges will not prevent higher level approvals
  22. You may want to reach out to your GML (garrison membership liaison) first as they normally set your MB profile to "detachment pending" when your costume is first approved, then normally before elections these pending are made :active". Our detachment leader Andrew @Sly11 could possibly do a manual update if you ask nicely him nicely Posting in the section mentioned by others will give you higher access here on our forum but not on your profile. You may also want to speak to your GWL (garrison web liaison) as you don't have any images on your legion profile
  23. This may also be of use, worth a try, a few other threads on armor ABS yellowing: http://www.vintagecomputing.com/index.php/archives/189 One thing you may find is that even purchasing new ABS sheet from the same maker the color may be different, depending on the color of your armor, makers have found differences in color of their ABS as well as differences in color between armor makers.
  24. I used internal strips on my first set of armor but found they weren't really needed except for the shins as you are opening and closing them a lot they can take more strain than anywhere else, but really it's just up to the builder, no issues with higher levels no matter if you have them or not. On your thighs you may want to add some small strips just behind the lower ridge in case you have any gaps between these two pieces
  25. You can cut on an angle or leave flat either is fine, really depends on the make of armor, I prefer the more finished angle look, albeit they get covered by your shoulder bells You can see screen used armor had angle cuts to the cover strips in places A few threads on the subject https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/51701-arm-cover-strip-alignment/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26736-cutting-cover-strips-at-an-angle/
