  1. Can you hold them shut while wearing, if so you just need a better closure system I glued strips of elastic across the inside the front shins of my Mando and Sithtrooper, just make sure there is a little give when you apply the glue so they can flex, on the rear I use velcro. If you find they are not wide enough you may have to add some more material to the back sides.
  2. Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks
  3. I found with Jims helmets that there is the odd bump or lump or low area, an easy way to find this is give a light mist coat of black then when you sand you will see some black will be removed and some with still be there, this shows you high and low areas, you can then fill the lower spots and sand the higher spots. For base sanding of primer or spray putty I use a 240 grit wet and dry sandpaper and use soapy water as it helps the sandpaper from clogging as quickly.
  4. Excellent news trooper, congratulations and welcome to the ranks
  5. All three ear screw are countersunk

  7. For some types of weathering I use a rag, pick up from the middle, twist and you end up with a small ball, tie this with some string and you have a dabbing ball, you can then use waterbased acrylic paint to add to the armor or foam, it does stick quite well and you can build up until you are happy with the look. Once you are finished you can give the whole thing a coat of satin clear which will help the acrylic to not rub off. Lots of builds over at MEPD, here is just one I found http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?/topic/16175-muddy-mimban-from-australia/
  8. A few of your lines are a little on the wobbly side and a little thick, I have found you can remove some excess paint with a toothpick or sharpened popstick or scrap plastic. You may want to remove a little paint from the gums too Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. Some references to compare with what you have
  9. That trim line should give you a little more room. Notice also one of your sides/ear is very close the the trap while the other has a large gap, it's ok to have a difference but can make a difference to were they meet underneath. The tilt of the front plate can also open or close the opening. Here is a comparison to a recent centurion approved RS helmet, the photos are taken slightly differently but will give you an idea, notice the slight difference in the tilt/angle of the faceplate to the cap, also the length from the front area to back of the helmet, yours length appears slightly less. To adjust the faceplate you would need to remove the ears, drill out rivets or bolts what every has been used, then bring the faceplate forward on the base to increase this angle and opening, you will also need to check how much you can move it while the two pieces still meet underneath allowing ears to cover any gap. Hope that makes sense I've only had one coffee Dan has a great thread showing the angles/tilt on helmets which may help you see the differences
  10. You may also want to check the colors as from memory I think RS use a darker blue
  11. Most solvents with burn plastic if left on straight from the bottle but mineral spirits is a little gentler. I have found a touch of general automotive thinner has worked for me.
  12. Here's one in the For Sale area, not sure if he still has it but you may want to inquire You can find most armor makers supply helmets, mostly in kit form but some do already assembled like RS and TM and others Maker info here

  14. 1500 is a nice smooth base normally used as a base for chrome paints, I normally just use 600 which is a little easier to sand. Looking forward to seeing the paint applied
  15. And I noticed these images weren't in the gallery section so they have just been added
  16. Could you remove the S trim so we can see the bottom of the helmet, to check mold lines. CRL can be found here https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt
