Rob's ANH real Sterling build ( pic heavy )
matt black replied to matt black's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Getting started on this again and thinking about the cylinder wires. I know that there is this pic but does anyone know of any screen caps that you can see wires on an E11. By bsac15 at 2012-07-24 I'm trying to decide whether or not to have any wires on my build. Do we know if this pic is of a screen used gun as it was seen on screen or could the wires have been added at a later date? -
New Battle Spec armour from SDS
matt black replied to Squigs's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
The Andrew Ainsworth debate is something that has been running for a long, long time now and there are many facts and opinions regarding it. The best thing to do is search here for Andrew Ainsworth of 'AA'. A similar search over at the RPF will also show you a tonne of discussions. Also search for 'Andrew Ainsworth courtcase' on the internet. Interesting stuff. As for which armour is considered the best, it's really a matter of opinion. All the vetted armour makers here on FISD make quality stuff. It depends somewhat if you are more interested in trooping or more into the screen accurate side of things. -
And then you can pay Andy a pecentage of all your profits as it's his designs you are using

Beautiful and fit's like a glove. -
Very interested to see this. Is there a reason why you have two different sized capacitors?

Screen accurate vs 'reality' accurate
matt black replied to Dday's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I agree with all the points made by Paul and Lou. For collecting I like all the scrapes and scratches but for costuming I like it to look how you were supposed to see it and not how we see it now what with blu rays and such. It's like if I wanted to build a replica of the General Lee. In real life the cars were patched up and just made to look good for shots of a few seconds long. They probably had weld seams, rust and dents. I would want the car to look pristine. Same thing with my armour. Though I do like the wonkeyness so I guess it's a little bit of both for me. -
ATA Helmet Noob Build.
matt black replied to TK-6202's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
You do indeed have more to trim off from the cap and back. Give this section a good read as there are many ATA build threads with lots of good pictures http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showforum=6 Also, look at the gallery in the top tab bar for some good screen used helmet pictures. -
New Battle Spec armour from SDS
matt black replied to Squigs's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
When you look at the more expensive armour on the website it still has the 'Elvis' boots and in the new pics of the battle spec armour you can see that they coloured over the seams digitally hence no side elastic. Also, i it just me or does that helmet look pretty 'funky'. The cap looks too small for the faceplate? -

Black everytime for a costume that is to be worn for me. I think it looks better when you can see up into the helmet and also looks much nicer when the helmet is not being worn. Just my opinion though.

How long did it take to put together your TK?
matt black replied to Dracos's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
It doesn't matter how long it takes you so long as you do it right. It's good that you are spending more time researching than actualy working on the armour. Read twice, cut once -
TK 7944 Requesting ANH stunt EIB status[232][FX]
matt black replied to Hunterhwt's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Congratulations TJ. As you are now double EI what would you like on your profile of the EI page? Your TK or your HWT? -
Perfect reference shot. Nice one Paul.

Hi David. Apart from the bicep and shoulder bell problem that you already mentioned I would rotate the thighs outwards slightly and raise them a bit so that they fill in the gap where they meet the crotch piece.

You haven't got a booby prize. It's a nice helmet but more of a collectable than a costume piece. It has been idealised which takes away the look somewhat of a trooper as seen on screen. Some members have done mods to the eFX and have made it look very nice. Take a good look at the forum and read as much as you can about the various different makes of helmets and you will soon see what makes for a good screen accurate helmet. Oh and welcome to FISD

You could shorten the strap that goes from the top of the shoulder bell to the webbing that is under the shoulder bridges. This should pull the bell up onto your shoulder more.

Bought a suit - Looking for opinions

That's starfortressproductions. -
If it is made of the material that I think it is then it will be shiny. The undersuits should not be shiny but made of cotton.

If you can cancel your purchase, do it! He is on our list of sellers to stay away from http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=19329. It might be a cheap suit but it is still not worth it. Try to get your money back and take some time to save up for a suit from a good seller.
