  1. Thank you! The CRL pictures were the reason I asked, the Hero does not have the legs cut out, but the Stunt does.
  2. I have done some searching on the forumn, but still want to double check with you guys on a couple of questions. Is it okay for a ANH Hero to cut out the bottom of the thighs and the tops of the greaves, in the back, to make walking easier? (Like this \____/ for the geaves and turn that over for the thighs.) I feel like I am waddling everywhere. Basically my calf is hitting the bottom of my thigh piece when I bend my knee. Should I shorten my thighs? I was also trying to find a solid answer on return edges for the thighs and greaves. Can they be taken off completely or is it required to have them? Of course I removed them completely from the bottom of the greaves, but is there a minimum amount that should be on the top. I also have removed some from the tops of the thighs and none from the bottom. I do not want take plastic off if I should not, it is not very easy to get it back on.
  3. I think the "expert" got it wrong from I could tell. It looked like FX to me.
  4. Looking pretty good Jordan! In the picture with Batman, it looks like the button plate on the front of the ab is upside down but it is okay in the first 2 pictures. You will want to move the belt up so it sits right below that button plate. Also, the drop boxes need to be moved up so there is just barely a gap between them and the belt.
  5. If you search the forum you can find screen captures that show the plate sitting on a ridge that is wider than what is on the AM armor. Just checked mine and it is still holding tight (lost the paint on one of my buttons though).
  6. I glued down my plate with E6000 and it is holding up good. I did not do any sanding on the ridges to reduce their size. You will want put some glue on the back of the buttons to make sure the nuts do not come loose.
  7. I made snap plates using plastic, glued them on with E6000, and did not experience any warping. But, I do like the idea of using webbing to conform to the shape of the ABS. As for getting the snaps flat, I also ditched the circular pounding thing and used a flat piece of thick metal to pound on to get the back flat. Brian has a thread somewhere that has a lot of helpful pictures.
  8. Hi Jordan! The best thing you can do is take your time and do a lot of taping, fitting, taking tape off, taping again, fitting, etc. I worked on my AM kit in my spare time and it took me 8 months. I also have the problem of my helmet sitting on my chest, even after I removed alot of the tabs on my shoulders. But, it is an AM helmet and I plan to upgrade soon. Good luck with your build!
  9. I would recommend trimming the front of the shins (also thighs) and butt joining them also, since you are going for a ANH look. It depends on how close you want to be to screen accurate. I think you will like how it looks with forearms and biceps.
  10. Thanks for the picture Paul and for everybodys advice. I will go ahead and make marks where I should cut based on the photos and other advice, then post some pics before I actually cut.
  11. I have begun to make modifications to my armor for EIB status. I know the belt corners need to be cut at a 45 degree angle, but is there an exact measurement from the corner where I need to make the cut? I have searched the forumn, but have not been able to find a number. Thanks!
  12. Thanks Gary, that is a great alternative. If the E6000 does not hold up and it eventually breaks free, that would be the way to go.
  13. I was also looking for extra ABS and a local garrison member sent me this link: http://trooperbay.com/abs-plastic-extension-strips/ They are not 2 to 4 feet long, but should be long enough for any part of your armor.
  14. Looks like a great start! I also have AM armor and it is a great set. Your kidney plate might be upside down based on the photo, I turned mine over and over about 20 times before I figured it out. Trimmig some of the return edge off the top of the thighs will help pull them up more, I ended up taking about half or more. Take your time and it will turn out great.
  15. It was the same experience for me. The order was processed and dispatched in 2 or 3 days. It seemed like it took less than 2 weeks for my kit E-11 mod kit arrived.
