No. the ear rank is in the back. It is a shadow at the front. The brow has also been raised from the standard AP line. By bsac15 at 2011-05-02 I still don't see how having a high brow means that they ears have to be that much wider.

If you don't like tthat then maybe don't post pics. The ears do not need to be that fat to have no gap and here is proof. This is my AP lid. Ears trimmed correctly and no gap. Maybe. It looks to me like more of a flat, dull silver colour than a shiny reflection in some shots though.

I have made a second rail that sits 1mm higher than the last one but not as high as my first attempt. I have also incorporated a way of fixing the rear of the rail that I have copied from Andy. Hope you don't mind Andy

I had no idea he was going to use them. I only sent them so he could see the type of caps I was after.

I noticed that a couple of pictures have been used there that I sent him for reference for the caps. If they need to be taken down just let me know and I will contact Mr Mullard.

Good point Paul. We spend our lives trying to make things look as good and neat as we can then it is difficult to do things how we would not normaly choose to do them. I am going to make a second rail tonight that is lower and then I'll post some more pics. Thanks for yoyr input mate

Of course, everyone has their preferences but I just think that the curved rail looks a bit sloppy. Like it was made quickly and didn't fit very well. On real guns you never see a curved scope rail as the scope has to be on the same level as the gun. It's just my opinion but I like the neater look of the slightly raised rail.

Bloody hell this all gets confusing! Thanks for the help everyone. I'm glad there are people here that know a LOT more than me. Thanks Andy for the info about the differences between the rails of ANH and Empire blasters. I certainly did not know that. I have fixed down my rail and the gap is 6mm not 7mm. The rail sits on top of the little flip down sight. If I were to flip the sight back and have the rail sit on the sight housing itself then I would have a gap of 3mm between the rail and the barrel.
