  1. In that last pic the helmet looks lower and much better. With the bells, maybe you could get the tops of them to sit closer to the shoulder bridges? I can't tell from the pics but do you have elastic in the bells going around your bicep to hold them tight to your arm?
  2. I think it looks fantastic. You can't help being tall and I think you done a great job of keeping the black parts showing to a minimum. All I would say is that the helmet needs to come down more if you can and the shoulder bells need to be pulled in tighter to you. The belt could also do with coming up a bit. Excellent looking build mate.
  3. It will look great and add some nice authentic detail.
  4. That's fantatsic Mark. What an achievement! Well done.
  5. The mic tips are painted black. The white that you can see around the rim is just weathering. This is where the paint chipped off of the originals.
  6. Yeah I found that. Very tight indeed. You have to be so careful to not round the head off as they are brass.
  7. On mine I just unhooked the the spring by hand, the mount swung open and I undone the two screws underneath.
  8. I can do it for you. What would you like it to say?
  9. I found one pic but it's not very good By bsac15 at 2012-04-08
  10. Cheers Andy. I'll take a couple tonight. Unless Sergiu wouldn't mind posting one for me if he has one to hand
  11. Phwew. Really glad I haven't messed it up yet. This is the one prop I want to get as right as I can. Thanks for the input guys.
  12. this is all pointed out in the spirit of troopers helping troopers. with a smile and a cheerful nod to accuracy! Indeed it is Vern and I salute you for that. But remember, these pics are of one example. The wires were not all the same. ------- The OP asked what houshold items could be used and I gave him just one example of something that I think doesn't look bad. Not the most SA as Vern has pointed out but it was never claimed to be. Thanks for the close up pic Vern and the great explanation of how they were attached. Very useful info.
  13. With the amount of differences between each E11 seen on screen I very much doubt that every one of them had 4 coils per side. As for WAY to many coils. Your pic has four and mine has five. Hardly WAY more. But granted, mine is idealized.
  14. The wire in that pic looks way thicker than battery box wire to me. This is the shaver wire that I used. I don't think it's far off. -----
  15. The wires you get with electric shavers or car phone chargers.
  16. Thanks for the great pics Andy. That second one is super clear! I may have mounted the scope just a couple of mil further forward than I would have liked but I'm happy. I have also made a bit of a change to the rail so it slopes ever so slightly. That is rail MK5 and I think I am done with it now. By bsac15 at 2012-06-12 The display stand parts I made myself. I like to make all my own stands. Normally I make MR style stands but with perforated sheet aluminium instead of mirror on the base. I am trying a new design for this one. It will all be made from aluminim for a more modern look
  17. I recieved my M40 scope today and just want some opinions on the location. I haven't drilled the rail yet. The scope is just resting there. How does this look? By bsac15 at 2012-06-12 By bsac15 at 2012-06-12
  18. What a fantastic build! Almost indistinguishable from the real thing
  19. I've seen quite a few screen caps and and new builds lately that are like position 4. This is something I have been thinking of doing with my build. Although I do prefer the look of position 1
