  1. Hey Brady, Great start! And some super advice above. :-) Depending on how “deep” you want to go into the finer details (I’m a bit obsessive over the little touches), there are a couple of things you could consider for that out and out ANH Stunt feel. Firstly, you could consider squaring off the eyes a little. Example below; The mesh on your Hovi tips could sit at the front, rather than recessed; If your helmet kit came with two sets of ears, you could consider trimming one set down a little more. As it stands, yours are a little thicker than screen used which makes the helmet appear wider. Trimming the ears, as suggested below, would require the whole ear cap to drop down a little, so new holes would need to be drilled; The lower ridge on the chest is where you might leave up to 10mm, for example, as that’s where the originals have the bracket system. The sides, highlighted below, could be trimmed to perhaps 3-5mm return edge; Reference of a screen used suit and that lower chest return edge; If it’s helpful, I covered many of these areas in a recent video along with reference photos and descriptions. Here’s the link; ALL of the above are just suggestions, or things to consider. None of these is mandatory. :-)

  2. Here I am again. I was first approved back in 2017 with a First Order Stormtrooper and given my 501st number. Over the years and other kit builds later here I am again, a newly approved with the Imperial Stormtrooper (ANH Stunt). During that time with many troops under my belt my journey has me living my dream and seeing the smiles that I can bring. It has been a totally awesome ride!

  3. Hey troopers, I think we all know that this very forum is a hot bed of experienced troopers and helpful information. Years of experience and TK knowledge. To that end, here are some of the key features, (sometimes subtle, sometimes obvious), that I feel really make an iconic ANH Stunt Stormtrooper, all in a simple, easy to digest video. Topics include; -brow height -eye trimming -ear trimming -vocoder painting styles -hovi tips ...and more Enjoy the video, and please feel to ask any questions or comment. :-)

  4. Hey all! So, I finally got my ATA kit ordered, and he was kind enough to send the bucket out before the rest of the kit so I could get started on that. Not my first TK bucket build, but after my last one ended up as more of a display piece than anything approvable, I’m taking this one a tad slower.

  5. I never knew that other makers don't have a raised ridge, huh. That picture helps a lot though, thanks!

  6. Y'know I literally said we should make one of these to Andrew like a week ago. Great timing.

  7. It looks like you also have space between the brow and the face plate. Try to line up the front edge of the trap with the edge of the eye, on each side, since you can pull the face forward to do so. I'm also not sure exactly how the WTF helmet fits together compared to other helmets, but it looks like you could angle the back and cap forward more, and pull it backwards and down slightly, to help close the gap with the tubes. It could be that the holes are misaligned now because you drilled and riveted both at the same time. You could always do one side first, and rivet it, and then that'll give you an anchor point to drill the hole on the other side. Either way, good luck with the helmet rivets, and the build looks great so far.

  10. Thanks, I'll trawl through my emails again as I must have missed a step somewhere, as have been approved by my GML and on the 501st forum, 501st ID: 18474

  12. Had to adjust my side strapping system since the new rivets are where my old snaps used to be. Once the glue to my snaps and my painted rivets dry I can take some pictures all suited up and if all looks decent I will prepare to submit for pre approval. Fingers crossed this is the last thing before I'm good for pre approval and basic. Sent from my SM-N970U using Tapatalk

  13. Okay, so I got the two parts together in a way I found pleasing, and fitting to the tubes. I gripped them together with magnets and clamps and drilled the holes for the rivets. But when it all came out... The holes I drilled went in higher than I thought I was drilling. And when riveted, the tubes aren't matching up. Looks like I'm drilling them out

  14. So sorry to hear you contracted Covid-19 but happy to hear you have come through it ok. I know it's hard leaving projects halfway through, I had a fall before Christmas and injured my shoulder and elbow and I'm biting at the bit to be able to do some building. Looking forward to seeing the updates, hopefully you'll be able to get back to it in the not too distant future.

  16. Sweet! The paint color on the lower half really pulls the whole thing together. And the black wash gives it that real world weathered look. As always, fantastic work Tino. Its fun trying to imagine what the rest of the armor would look like.

  17. That is a question for your GML (garrison membership liaison) some will allow large cover strips some will not so I would definitely contact him/her and discuss. I have seen some approved If they do not allow you would have to add some plastic to the sides, with ATA having the raised ridges it is a little more difficult, you would need to cut next to the raised area, then add a triangle of plastic, fill joins with ABS paste, sand and polish (paint if needed) An example: Example thread here Other makes don't have the raised areas like ATA so they are easier to add shims to
