  1. It's funny, all my life I've wanted to join the 501st, and when I could finally afford the armor, I spent every weekend trimming, fitting, gluing...then I hit a wall, put on some weight, and now my half-finished armor is waiting for me in a closet, judging me. I intend to finish one day, but I can't seem to find the motivation. On the other hand, I've come into a healthy chunk of disposable income over the weekend and I'm debating switching to a different kit. Does anyone have tips for getting back on the horse, or kits that don't feel like they're fighting against you?
  2. I never knew that other makers don't have a raised ridge, huh. That picture helps a lot though, thanks!
  3. How large of a cover strip can I reasonably get away with?
  4. https://i.imgur.com/c10id1R.jpg https://i.imgur.com/xbche0J.jpg I'm really having trouble here. I have a huge gap in the back of the left thigh and I havent even trimmed the back of the left shin, and they just barely touch. What do I need to do here?
  5. Hows this looking? https://imgur.com/a/jEEyXrb
  6. I'd imagine so, if it was long enough. Those logos do tend to rub off after repeated washes though. I'll experiment when I get home to see if i can peel it off.
  7. Yeah, I was afraid of that. I guess I'll have to shim the back after all then?
  8. That's exactly the pair I got actually. Those pants do have a pocket but unless you actually put your phone there, it shouldn't be too bad.
  9. If you look up Target activewear, it's the All in Motion collection.
  10. I can't guarantee for every state, but our local Target just put out a huge supply of long-sleeve activewear. You can get a variety of solid black compression pants/shirts in varying fits and thicknesses, even a shirt with thumbholes! It cost me about 40 bucks for a two-piece.
  11. That's what I did for the arms, should be an easy fix.
  12. So I got my undersuit and now that the front is dried, it's not as big of a gap as I thought. For a comfortable fit, there was a small gap in the back. Do I need to shim or can I just make that strip an extra 1/4 inch or so? (Dont worry, I'm going to trim the top of that front strip.)
  13. I'm on the shorter side, just barely 5'9" with shoes. Most likely gonna need the cuts either way. Apparently I have thick thighs, but I might be able to get away without a shim. I have the front of one thigh gluing since yesterday. once I'm off work I'll take some pics so I can get a better idea.
  14. I've hit a bit of a roadblock with my thigh fitting. I have an ATA TK set, and after trimming the return edges on the inside and leaving extra material for the cover strips in the back, it still seems like I don't have enough space. Either I need to add a shim or I have them placed too high. Should the bottom of the thigh be placed right at the knee or a bit above? It's a bit hard to tell from reference pics because the knee itself is covered by ammo or sniper plate.
  15. Is it acceptable if my forearms use the same mold? I messed up my first pair and either I asked for the wrong side or got the wrong one sent.
