I have submitted for EIB, and while taking those photos, I set up some lights and got an action shot with a red rim light. This is what the armor looks like edited into an appropriate setting:3 points

Hello, all. My name is Eddie, I’m a healthcare worker in Chicago. I’ve been a SW fan since ‘77, and remember drawing TKs for my friends in elementary school. Could never get that TK frown just right. Last Thursday, a big rectangular box and a much smaller cube-shaped box was delivered to my apartment with contents described as “Fancy Dress Costume.” This is my second full commission TK, my first from RS Propmasters, who have created an INCREDIBLE work of art, a vast improvement from my previous TK armor, a “full commission” store-bought Ben Cooper TK Halloween costume back in 1979. During the past few months, I’ve been browsing the forums for general costuming ideas and information on the 501st and what they do. I was impressed by the organization’s camaraderie and support, but mostly by their purpose of “bad guys doing good,” and it’s something that I would love to be a part of. I have some past experience with creating period clothing for Renaissance Faires, and I am aware of the impact a costume can have on the wearer as well as the individuals he/she encounters. No matter how young or old you are, there’s a certain magic in meeting a character from a different place or time, or in this case, a different galaxy far, far away. It encourages people to dream, escape the mundane and doldrums of everyday life, or simply puts a smile on someone’s face. I am looking forward to hearing your stories, sharing advice and experiences, and eventually joining you all in putting a smile on someone’s face, because we all know that the world could use a few more smiles right now!2 points

Great to hear Brian. We have been sitting on this for many months lol, obviously eager to launch it but in no way did we want to dilute the March to 1000 campaign and Victory celebration. When we ran the numbers and did some background due diligence I think we were all surprised at how close it was as well. It'll be touch and go, but we may actually make this by years end,. If not, it will be a great way to round out this term for the Detachment, specially in such a trying year for so many.2 points

Hot off the heals of our Victory1000 celebrations, FISD are proud to bring you our next target event. We are fast approaching another milestone and another chance to celebrate victory as we hit 500 Centurions approved. This miles stone will also come with another special Centurion only piece of merch for the first 500, in the form of a pin to match the Expert Infantry exclusive. Our very own gmrhodes13 (Glen) has outdone himself yet again and put together the perfect introduction for this milestone event so without further adieu, FISD brings you. THERE ARE ONLY 7 POSITIONS ON THE GRID, SO IT'S TIME TO HIT THE ACCELERATOR, SHIFT INTO HYPER-DRIVE AND HELP US BLAST ACROSS THE LINE! Now that we have reached 1000 Expert Infantry, It's time to once again become part of FISD history and enter the "Centurion 500" We are aiming to have 500 approved Centurions by the end of the year. We only have 7 to go, so in order to reach that goal we are asking that you read over the CRLs for your particular armor, (this thread will help) make any necessary adjustments and post up your submission! Photo Checklists - Link here Apply here Questions: 1. Not sure if I have what it takes to reach Centurion- You don't know until you try, and you have not only the D.O. staff but an entire Detachment to help! 2. I need some repairs/fixes first- This is why we are here! We honestly want you to succeed and are here to help in any way we can. 3. I am happy with the way my armor looks, so why bother?- It not only makes you look more screen accurate, it instills a sense of pride and "esprit de corps"! 4. What if I don't make it? No worries, we will provide detailed suggestions on how to reach your goal! Benefits: 1 Bragging rights for being one of the "Original 500" 2. You get a cool badge under your name here on the FISD (full forum version) 3. Access to Exclusive Centurion500 pin for those in the original 500. 4. Certificate for your accomplishment. 5. You will have a more screen accurate looking set of armor. Now that the entire Staff and those who have reached Levels 2 and 3 are here to help in any way we can, you are more than welcome (and encouraged) to ask any and all questions you may have here on this thread, or contact Joseph, Sha Sha or Mario. Let's get up to speed, push that throttle and prepare for lightspeed, you can do it troopers Your Deployment Officers, Staff and the whole detachment crew are standing by ready to assist If you'd like to show your support on FB here is the link to the Centurion500 profile frame www.facebook.com/profilepicframes/?selected_overlay_id=3313206512859641 point

Hola Michael . De acuerdo al CRL para el TK Hero For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met. FISD Defines additional, optional levels of costuming excellence. In the page below, requirements for Level 2 "Expert Infantry" are listed in blue. Requirements for Level 3 "Centurion" are listed in red. Para primer nivel de aprobación 501st , puedes utilizar solamente el Sable , sin blaster ni holster ya que es opcional . para niveles EIB y Centurion es requisito presentar el Blaster con las especificaciones en Azul EIB y Rojo Centurion. Hi Michael, According to the CRL. For Basic level 501st approval, you can use the Laser Saber alone, without blaster or holster as they're optional. For EIB and Centurion levels it is required to present the Blaster with the EIB Blue and Centurion Red specifications. Pura Vida.1 point

Hey trooper, Yes, you can definitely take quite a bit more out of the eyes. I’d suggest you use the gallery section of the forum and get some of the reference images of the eyes. Then, use your Pic Collage app to compares the reference photos with your work so far. That’s a great way to see how yours is looking in comparison. :-) As you are doing, using a knife (carefully) can give you a much more authentic look. Too much sanding and smoothing can take away the ANH charm. ;-) If it helps, I also built one of these DA Props HDPE lids a while back; https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/47447-cableguy%E2%80%99s-hdpe-anh-stunt-helmet-da-props/1 point

Dude, your build is so awesome. I hope it all works out for your approval1 point

Nice work Mark, enjoyed your build, just watch your drop boxes as they are on an angle on the side images, see how you go you may need to lengthen the elastic a little if they keep catching. Belt is on a slight angle, may be the way you are standing, just double check the positioning. I can't see anything that would hold you up for basic approval in my opinion. Good luck, hope to see you approved soon.1 point

Wow, I didn't realize how close this milestone was. Still celebrating the EIB 1,000 goal. I think I can push a few more troopers in my garrison to go the extra mile for this.1 point

Welcome aboard, Paul! I’m a newbie as well and have been doing the research thing as well. Can’t read fast enough! I’ e just completed a bucket build and am working on my waistline for the rest of the build. We all don’t have perfect bodies to become the shiny white space soldier we all know and love, but one thing’s for sure. Everyone here is SO SUPPORTIVE and helpful to help you reach your goals. Keep posting! They won’t let you fail. Hang in there, take care of yourself and family and work a little bit here and there on your armor. You’ll get there!! I’m looking forward to joining the 501st with you someday soon!1 point

Thank you! Yes, you've picked up a good issue here - adjusting the thigh height (also mentioned by Tarok) will fix both the gaps and the drop boxes issue (they seem to have snagged on the thigh edges). Thank you again! Sent from my Imperial Communicator1 point

I think I'm nearing the end of my build now. If you have time, I'd love feedback on what I need to work on or change before I post in the pre-approval thread. Thanks in advance for your help and a mighty thanks to everyone who gave me advice along the way. What a ride! Note: I'm yet to make mobility cuts and after today's full fitting will shape the shoulder bridges a little more to get them lower at the back. I may also put some padding inside the AB plate so the kidney plate and AB plate stay aligned on the right side (the bottom seems to swing in a little when the belt is on). PS - I love the wonky sniper plate!1 point

Got some more painted this weekend and was able to assemble almost all of the upper pieces. I am going to need to figure out how to keep this scratching easily. I will take Glen up on the advice of putting the foam pieces under the yoke to abs so it does not scratch so easily. Since these are fiberglass, it does not give as much. If this keeps happening, I might need to go with the ABS yoke and abs. I am ordering the boots and gloves for Giovanni. Cape will be from Geeky Pink, once I get clarification on the border (silver or no border). Biceps will be next, I have some rework to do on the seams first (need the etch in the lines better and fix my overlap issue).1 point

I went with a 12 W because of the longer battery life. I'm very happy with it. I hardly ever turn it up more than one third of the volume. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
