  1. She's going to the chromer tomorrow!!! Don Valenzuela of Don Valenzuela's Autobody in Clovis is going to be doing it for me. His main business is autobody painting and work, but he's also an artist and has done beautiful logos for some local wineries. I'll be dropping her off after work and then... then I can work on all the other stuff in preparation for when she gets back. Gotta wrap up cutting out all the fleece for the cases I'm making for all the parts while I still have them tonight.

  2. Hi Tanner and welcome to the FISD. It's awesome that you want to aim for Centurion - the extra work is totally worth it. As mentioned above, you will have to apply to EIB first but all the requirements for Centurion are listed in the CRL (link provided above). Also, check out other centurion applications here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/72-request-centurion-status/ To help us out, try to take some pictures with the armour on you as well. You may want to start a build thread and post images and ask questions there. Based on the pictures above, there are a few things that will need to be addressed, so having a dedicated thread to post progress pictures and receive feedback will be the most helpful. Build threads are here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/80-anh-build-threads/ Is the armour FX? If so, there are tutorials on how to upgrade it to EIB in the tutorials section - among many other things. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/79-tutorials-tips-and-howtos/ Good luck!

  3. Dear fellow Staff members, Troopers and future Troopers, As Sarah mentioned in a previous post, it is with a heavy heart that I am stepping down in my role of Executive Officer of the FISD. Over the last few months life has thrown me more than a few curve balls, including personal issues, 2 deaths and a hurricane to boot, which in my opinion have precluded me from having the time to effectively perform my duties, and for that I add my sincere apologies to you all. Those of you who have known me over the years know that this Detachment and the people here have honestly meant the world to me, and it has been both an honor and a pleasure being a part of such an incredible group of folks. Although the dust is finally beginning to settle (at last), it will be several weeks before life allows me to get back into the swing of things here 100% as in recent years, but I promise I will get there. After speaking with Sarah, she has graciously offered that I step back into my previous role as Deployment Officer. This will allow me the chance to serve the FISD in the area that I know best, and I look forward not only to returning to assisting future Troopers, but helping those aiming for EI and Centurion attain their goals as well. A big THANK YOU to all of you for bearing with me. Your kind thoughts/comments and personal PMs have helped get me through the recent months more than you will ever know, and an extra big thank you to Sarah for her understanding and keeping me on as part of the Staff. Also, I'm sure that you will all join me in welcoming Brien as our new XO. He is a true treasure here, and I am sure he will continue to go above and beyond to make sure that this Detachment continues to be the best one in the 501st! My very best to you all, and I will see you on the boards a LOT more. Troop on, Joseph

  6. Hi John, and thanks for your application for EI! Before proceeding, we will need a few extra photos, brother, (listed below... but don't worry, you don't have to get suited up again just yet)! Gotta say GREAT job on painting the traps, ear bars and vocoder on that bucket, and I'm glad to see you went with the double-snap method on your torso. (Better safe than sorry). SUPER nice job on the ear positioning as well! 1. We will need clear, close-up shots of your connections for each thigh and calf in the rear. Please include the entire areas highlighted in blue 2. Your shoulder straps are looking a little askew in the back. Can you add some photos of the front and back of the top of the chest plate showing the positioning of them? Reference image 3. Please add a shot of your forearm openings as well. As soon as you get those in we can begin, and THANKS!

  8. Great additions to a blaster, that already was very beautiful before! If possible, I would recommend to rotate the trigger group retaining pin from position FREE to LOCK. The FREE position was used for disassembling this group.

  9. Guess I’ll try to help out. I’m not Centurion and obviously if you want to get the title of Centurion through this forum you need to explore the option of EIB first. It’s a “rank” based program you need one before the other. Normally people apply for EIB through the EIB section of the forum and you get lots of valuable feedback. You, I assume unknowingly, skipped the step and obviously got none. You can also get your armor to Centurion specifications and not apply for the title just because you want it that way doesn’t mean you have to apply for the title. I’d just advise about calling yourself Centurion without having the forum title, it might get people around here upset. As for the armor itself it looks pretty well made. I’m no pro just a guy answering I some questions but it looks like the bolts on the TD would need to be replaced, cod snap added, hovi tips need painting, probably a few other things mentioned in the CRL I’m missing. Some people will probably say your brows too low, your ears are a degree off as well, but I don’t think that’ll hold you back. Most of it is probably cosmetic but not seeing the pics of you with the armor on makes it hard to see how it fits. The link below should take you to the EIB section (if I added it properly). Make sure to check the CRL as stated above and apply for EIB first. Both titles are going to require an application and various pics of you in armor and close ups of other pieces. Good luck and feel free to ask questions someone will help you out. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/19-request-expert-infantryman-status/

  10. When she was younger it was just like a unique name but now she's all grown up, her name most of the time is recognized as a star wars character. Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

  11. Like, when you call her name, do people recognize it as a Star Wars character, or do they just think it's a pretty/unique name?

  12. Some makers make kits but at that age it might be a bit big. I’ve also seen some of the 48” first order trooper toys broken open and modified to fit a kid but again that’s a young age. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. My cat's name is Falcon, after the Millennium Falcon. Pretty sure she'd make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs based on her morning (and afternoon and evening and night) zoomies. Cat tax:

  15. Not been doing a good job documenting because the past two weekends have been ridiculously busy for me. First had a friend visiting from Texas, then a friend from NY, and I was playing endless tour guide. Luckily though, New York helped me fit the chest plate. However, I noticed that due to my epic vertical challenges, the chest plate is a smiiiidge longer than I need, but I think it can be fixed by curving the shoulder straps a bit more. A little scared of using hot water or a heat gun, considering how klutzy I am. I also shaped and fitted my bicep armor and forearm armor. I did, however, decide to play with the ABS paste and used that to join the seams. Unfortunately I found that there seems to have been bubbles in the paste, as when I sanded they were revealed I think after Halloween I will want to learn more about bondo or something, for now it's passable. I also worked on my bucket the past few days... gluing was a breeze, but cutting the face shield was not. It's currently setting right now, hoping I won't have to adjust it because it was a royal pain. Trying to get as much done this week since I'm going to try and attend the Santa Clara City Library Comic Con that @shashachu invited me to, but I'm just a smidgey worried about transportation and time constraints. Next weekend my parental units are going to be in a town, so eeeeeeverything has to go into the closet: armor, personality, individuality, orientation.... oh hey maybe that's what the Stormtrooper program is like!

  17. I tried on my armor and helmet with the Pauldron with the new mag pouch riveted to the side. I don’t really have much more limitation that I didn’t already have without it. Mainly just more sticky around the chin area because it rubs on the Pauldron instead of the armor, but no big deal. I’ll know more after my first Troop next week. I’ll be taking full body pics for my EIB submission! More weathering incoming! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Forearm mods To try and make the forearms better I did the following. Trimmed the return edge from the part to be modded. Considering it was pre trimmed it was rough anyway. Then I heated some abs sheet. I heated it a few times, progressively shaping it. Once happy, I glued it inside the arm. Then cut another piece to sit on top, bringing it flush to the armour. Before I filled the joint with polytek. It might need a little more shaping but I’m fairly happy with it.

  22. I'll start... I don't have any kids or pets, but I do know 2 One is a coworker of mine named Luke. When I jokingly asked him if he had a sister named Leia, he responded that instead he had a brother named Han and a brother named George. After that, his mom told his dad "no more attempts for a Leia". Another was when I was a kindergarten teacher back in Taiwan. I had a set of Happa (half white) Dragon Phoenix twins in one of my classes. Due to Chinese beliefs regarding Dragon Phoenix twins (boy girl set of twins), and traditional naming conventions for siblings, I already had some preconceived notions what the kids' Chinese names would be. I figured their English names would be more Americanized, since their mom was White and American. Boy's English name was Luke, girl was named Emma. Ok. Then I found out that while the boy's Chinese name was Lei Chun... the gir's name was Lei Ya. Mom didn't even notice until one day I called for Emma by her given Chinese name instead of her English name or full Chinese name. Oh she instantly thwapped the dad, he started hooting. Good on ya for slipping it past her, and he even made Lei the root/sibling character to hide it!

  23. A block of wood with sandpaper wrapped around is a good way to get jagged lines straighter. You may find wrapping tape around the pieces tightly they may come together a bit more. If you are still left with a gap cover strips will sort that out. With shins it's a great idea to add inside cover strips as they are opened and closed a lot so some extra strength is a great idea.
