Hi James, glad to see you started a build thread. Looking forward to your next postings... Nah, he has something better in the mail soon... (though I can not say for sure, if that is meant to be used in this build here)3 points

I have that AM and I’m a bigger guy so I didn’t need to trim them but mine hang fine when I wear it. If you need to slightly trim it I’d stick with the same size/shape and you should have no issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I'll take my submission photos this evening.... Currently e6000ing the flexible hand guards to my rubber gloves so I'll be ready for the next steps [emoji16]. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Actually it depends what silicone hand guards they are, I have had 3 from different vendors and each one needed a different glue, I've used E6000, superglue and Sikaflex silicon. So try on a small section before fully gluing.1 point

Great work Rodney and welcome to Expert Infantry And Sha Sha: Congratz on first Review1 point

Hi Rodney, Thank you for making all of the suggested changes so quickly! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted, and I am very pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for ANH Hero Expert Infantry. On behalf of Tony, Dan, Joseph and myself, congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Beautiful job with your build - just a few suggestions to help you look your best. Starting with the helmet, your vocoder paint could be fixed up to create a bit more definition in the shape: Reference Image Finally, the brow trim, particularly on the left side, looks a bit short. Reference Image Getting into the *really* nitty gritty, the black rank bar is painted just a tad wide: Reference Image Moving along, as others have suggested, you could drop your forearms to even up the black gaps on the arms. You should be able to accomplish this by slightly lengthening the strapping between the bicep and forearm. Reference Image The ab/kidney rivets could also use a bit of touch up paint: The ab button plate shape/size is perfect, but the paint on the buttons themselves is a tad large: Reference Image As you can see, ideally the paint doesn't *quite* cover the entire ab button. Continuing down, your butt plate pops out a bit from under the kidney, but it should stay under the kidney. Reference Image You should be able to fix this with a strapping adjustment. Centurion Suggestions:In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos are requested that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustment etc. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Per the L3 requirements: Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. Yours are close, but not quite aligned with the end of the plastic belt. Most folks put a dab of E6000 or CA glue to keep the belt box elastic in place. Reference Image As for the shoulder bells, the L3 CRL states: There should be a minimal gap between the shoulder armor and the chest/back plates. Your front gap looks great, but the rear is a bit large. It could just be a dressing issue, or you may be able to trim off some of the lower return edge from your shoulder bells to bring them in closer. Reference Image That's it for now! Congrats again, and we hope to see you at Centurion! Note: since I'm new at this, Dan aka @CableGuy is going to press all the buttons to make your status official, but you may consider yourself approved.1 point

Have you gotten the S&T E-11 in hand? It looks like the t-tracks are not inserted into the correct cooling holes. I am curious to know what you think of the airsoft gun. I know there is some inaccuracy with a few things like the hand grip, but the t-track seems like the most blaring issue.1 point

Thank you!!!!! I'm still working on training my Wrangler on stuff like the glove bunching [emoji16]. I do have smaller gloves on order I might try, or might add a strap that would be hidden under the forearm. My centurion gloves won't have that issue though. Painting those rivets was on my list but I forgot to check my list so thank you for the reminder! I haven't finalized the length of the thigh garters so I'll play with those to even them out. Looking great Just a heads up: Bunching of left hand glove. Painting of the side rivets. Nitpicking: Left thigh slightly lower (possibly rounder shape at the top?) To summarize: Send application to GML - get approved - apply for EIB - then Centurion1 point

My Anovos helmet came with a hardhat liner and I did not like it one bit. I used some tactical helmet pads I bought from Amazon ( just do a search, tons of sellers, they all run around $15/20): The pads are already backed with loop velcro. They also came with some round velcro pads to attach them to the helmet, but they fell out after one troop so I replaced them with the industrial-strength stuff.1 point

Ya, I think this one is close but it seems a bit small compared to my Stormtrooper. It will probably end up in the theater room as a prop.1 point

I ordered it late September/early October thinking I would get it for Halloween. I think they claim 72 hour shipping. Anyways it was closer to two months. I’m starting to think these aren’t the most truthful people to deal with.1 point

So the Imperial Gaskets are definitely helping fill the gap between me and the armor. At least with the bicep and forearm pieces. We'll see how much it will help with filling the thigh and calf pieces as they are humongous on me and the main pieces I'm worried I'll have to trim. Also I see now what everyone was saying about the limited mobility with real rubber gaskets. I think I will purchase cloth gaskets for more casual events so I can be more comfortable.1 point

Poo. I couldn't troop in my first event today because the tubing came off my helmet. What's the best glue for that? (The tube lining around the base of the bucket). I am hoping it's something like a super glue/Loctite thing because the needle nose applicator would greatly help, rather than the globs of E6000... I guess the questions never stop, even though I'm officially in!1 point

Yeah, I was quite frustrated to miss my first troop because of it. However, I just got it back on, and will just glue it down. Thanks.1 point

Thanks everyone for the comments and feedback. I have 2 more troops this year, coming up this weekend, then it's back to the bench to fix and correct the items mentioned above. All are simple fixes and shouldn't take much work at all. Such a great community, glad to be a part of it!1 point

Current vision updated as what we had was still outdated by almost 10 years1 point

More progress .... Have officially reached the stage where I can tape things onto myself! The codpiece is currently sitting way too low. The shoulder is very very roughly trimmed. Thought I remembered seeing on another kids tent to be too small if you trim the shoulder Bell to certain place, so I trimmed it very minimally. I believe that the picture below is where the codpiece actually should be sitting. Since I'm doing for the shopping, I'm wondering if I could just make larger elastic so that the top of the chest piece overlap lower. I have tons of elastic and sewing machine is much more within my wheelhouse so that will be a very happy fix! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I get it, someone privately made the shirt so they can choose who they sell it to or who gets included on the run. But no reason to restrict other 501st members. We are all 501st, regardless of our armor makers (so long as they are approved). If someone reading this plans to create their own version of this racing shirt I would request leaving off the Mickey Mouse looking helmet graphic on the back. I think it would look great with just the First Order logo.1 point

Now that there other 501st approved armor builders out there, shirts and any other swag should to be on non-exclusive sales threads. The shirts are neither Anovos or 501st so it shouldn't matter anymore. As for the FB page, that's going to be up to Anovos and their NDA.1 point

FYSA - there is a poll happening right now in the (Secret and by invitation only) First Order Stormtroopers facebook group as to whether or not non-Anovos kit owners (for instance, those who own Jimmiroquai's kit) will be invited in. My personal hope is that they are. If so, then there will need to be enough interest for a second run of the racing shirts (which are only available to group members), but since the initial run was conducted months ago and a lot of the newer members have been asking about it, that seems to be the case. ANOVOS will also have a say (and perhaps even a veto) since the original idea of the group was to provide a place for the ANOVOS kit owners to discuss their kits while not violating the terms of the NDA that we all had to sign in order to even purchase them.1 point
