  1. Thank you all! Aaron, the shoes are polyurethane I believe. Similar to Cal's rubber shoes but from a different maker. I might look into his shoes in the future since his have a bottom and these do not
  2. The one day I was able to attend I was on the floor completely suited up for about 1 hour 45 minutes with no breaks for my first appearance and then I went back out for about an hour later that day. Being my first time in the costume at an event I wasn't really sure what my body could take. In the future I think I could do up to 2 and a half to 3 hours for 1 day or do 2 separate shorter shifts. Overheating wasn't as big of an issue as some of the pain of the costume. I'm working on getting a larger set of arms since those are currently the tightest piece.
  3. I wish I could, unfortunately this school thing keeps getting in the way
  4. After 3 years of gathering parts and assembling I finally got the chance to debut my 3PO costume. Unfortunately forgot to take submission pics when I was suited up, but here's some from the event: There are some more photos at my page on facebook, https://www.facebook.com/pages/KC-3PO/917322388313043?ref=aymt_homepage_panel Thank you all for the compliments and encouragement along the way!
  5. Unfortunately there isn't any video yet. The person who took video was using snapchat to send to her friends but forgot to download them to her phone. As I get more pictures at events and such I will post more! I'm still missing 2 finger tips preventing me from doing submission photos
  6. Thank you all for the high regards! Gazmosis, PM replied to! JohnnyChaos, astromech.net is the R2 builders group. I don't know much about them but from what I have heard they aren't sold as kits. Instead there are patterns and parts available for purchase or use to assemble and cut pieces from wood or styrene, or for those going for a heavy duty build using aluminum parts from runs that occur periodically. As for mine, I've gotten enough comments on the belly that I will probably increase the amount of wiring before I submit photos and make my neck piece slightly larger. Also, gotta grab a nice pair of these to make up for the very slight gap in the sides of the shorts. You enjoyed clicking that link a little too much.
  7. Almost completely finished, here are some more pics from today. My buddy's R2 isn't completely finished yet either. Also made a facebook page for the droid! https://www.facebook.com/pages/KC-3PO/917322388313043?ref=aymt_homepage_panel
  8. Hey everyone! Sorry I have been so absent. School has been doing it's best to kill me for the last year. I had the whole suit sanded by an automotive shop ( I could have done it myself but it would have taken many more hours than what it took them) and then shipped it off to Canada (http://www.vacuummetallizing.ca/index.html) Without further ado, some updated pics for you all: Hands Sizing the belly mat Decorating the belly mat Dead body in my living room Trying some things on And some Abrams effect: The plan is for a more complete suit up this weekend. During this session of trying things on I figured out the belly mat was too small so I have remade it. You'll also note that I'm missing 2 finger tips...no idea where they went to so I am working on getting those replaced. The helmet was finished off today so it actually stays closed now. I will try to remember to upload the finished pictures or whatever shots we take this weekend.
  9. Hi Allen, glancing at Roel's thread (http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/25668-stormtrooper-boots/) it looks like he accepts paypal, though I could be wrong.
  10. Been super busy with school, sorry for lack of updates. I've had this for about 2 months now, hopefully be able to finish assembly this summer. I sent this off in January and it took until about mid-April to get it back. The actually work was finished in February but it was a little difficult communicating with and making the transaction between here and Canada. But it's all good now and Canada is no longer holding my droid hostage! Here's to finishing this after I get through Step 1 of my boards. And finally I did do a little work to assemble the helmet for a presentable picture: So, coming to you late this summer/early fall! Enjoy!
  11. Well, that would depend what the hourly wage is you are willing to work for... =P
  12. Moving in the armor and putting it on takes some getting used to. I think my first 2 or 3 troops people thought C-3PO had put on TK armor because I was walking like a robot. It also used to take me much longer to get in armor and required assistance - I can now do it on my own in about 10-15 minutes. Congrats on your armor
  13. It actually kind of looks like a Rubies and an FX made a baby. I'm not too worried, it is just a cartoon.
  14. The bucket is definitely FX. As previously mentioned that armor will meet the current minimum requirements (though the bucket is missing the pieces for the rank bars on the ears and you'll need to replace the stripes on the cheeks for blue). Good luck and ask away if you have any questions!
