  1. I'll get in touch with Tony and let him know. What would a good way to let other detachments know (as she's also makes non-TK stuff? Post on 501st forum?
  2. You've made me want to try wireless now [emoji1] Seeing as I already have the Bluetooth adaptor for my in ears, I've just ordered a Bluetooth transmitter. Will let you know how I get on. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01K8ANDCI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_A2T65QGA17M5NPCGXKZ0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  3. If you're looking at apple ear buds I guess that means you're looking at a Bluetooth wireless system(?) I haven't gone that way with my helmet (yet), but you can buy 3rd party adaptors for in ear monitors to make them wireless. I got these for my UE in ears for regular music listening and they worked great. Just got to make sure you get the right connector type for your in ears. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RN6RYPV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_V5YNCHMQFTZEQF7YEP2V?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  4. You've probably already looked at this, but if scroll to near the bottom of the first page I posted the pics of how I mounted my mics https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/47747-ukswrath-hearing-assist-how-are-others-installing-it/
  5. Not using UKSwrath system. Built up the velleman mk136 kit, which looks similar, and is easier to source in the UK. Also, enjoy soldering so was a fun little project.
  6. Ah, hence the apple ear buds. Gotcha. Yeah, the cable is a bit of a fiddle. I know what you mean about the cost. They're good (you'd hope so), but it was painful parting with the money. Amazing how expensive audio stuff can get. Just for research, look up high end studio monitors. Enough to make your wallet bleed!
  7. https://m.thomann.de/gb/ultimate_ears_ue11_pro.htm?glp=1 I did say not cheap!!! (I already had these from my rock gig days, definitely didn't buy them just for trooping). Be interested to know how the jbl's work out if you get them. For more affordable in ears, senheisser make some really good wired earphones, and usually come with 3 sizes of rubber cups to get a good fit.
  8. I use moulded earphones, as they isolate from the fan noise as well giving clear audio, but they weren't cheap. The downside being that if your batteries fail mod troop you're completely deaf. Try putting some padding between the helmet speakers and the helmet to bring them as close as you can to your ears. Even a slight gap reduces their effectiveness. I've not tried them myself, but these appear to be some of the better helmet speakers (going by motorbike reviews), but again, aren't cheap. https://www.fc-moto.de/epages/fcm.sf/?channable=020990696400363131353431383739fe&ObjectPath=/Shops/10207048/Products/Cardo-JBL-45-mm-Speaker-Audio-Set&Locale=en_GB Good luck find a solution that works for you, and getting rid of the feedback. Rich
  9. Thanks Mario

  11. RWA (in the UK) produce all of their armour pieces in XL / Big Boy sizes for tall / large OTTK (and TD / TX) costumers. Their YouTube channel has videos describing the size differences for the different sections. XL Thighs - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLyH1nb4fPQ - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVRn2tAvoig XL Shoulder bells - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qySuQk4DI-Q XL Torso parts - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4W5GQZ-opQ XL Kidney Section - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOo-aTzPJhY No videos on his channel yet for the XL forearm, bicep or shin, but they do make them. I'm 6'4" and around 215lbs, and all of my RWA TK is XL except for the butt and back plates, and its been cleared to Centurion. Hope this helps someone
  12. Hi Joseph, Would you mind adding some info to your post above. Geeky Pinks have told me that they are able to produce all of their items in non-leather alternatives, for those plant based troopers amongst us. In their words, this includes: "...neck seals... pauldrons, gunner bibs, vader suit, imperial knight, jedi or sith items, jawa bandoliers... Basically any item the SW universe could need in leather, I'll make in a vinyl/faux leather"
  13. @Daetrin Could you please update the original post of this thread to show that RWA now produce all of their armour pieces in XL / Big Boy sizes for tall / large OTTK (and TD / TX) costumers. Their YouTube channel has videos describing the size differences for the different sections. 14. Hi Georgia, I'm so stoked for you to have achieved your dream, and its awesome to have you here. Have a good look around the forum for ideas and there's always help here should you need it, don't be afraid to ask questions. Looking forward to seeing your troop pics, and hopefully you higher level submissions in Advanced Tactics Rich
  15. Just caught up with your build, and love how thorough you're being with both your build and your posts. And if it takes a year to complete, well, thats cool too. Its not a race, and it's as much about the journey Don't think I've seen anyone mention this (apologies if I've missed it), but have you been checking the EIB and Centurion checklists? If not I definitely recommend that you do. If you build with these checklists in mind from the start then you'll find achieving the higher levels much easier to achieve with minimal, possibly even no modification. EIB (Level 2) - https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/18-fisd-expert-infantryman-badge-eib-requirements/ Centurion (Level 3) - https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/140-fisd-centurion-requirements/ As for fans, microphones and speakers. There's several alternatives around, but here's one set of options to get you started http://www.tk10116.com/
  16. Serious question Obviously they put something in the ink that makes tattoos addictive ( you and I both know this!) Do they also put something in the abs that makes armour building addictive? Thoughts?
  17. Following with interest Looking at doing my own DLT-19 soon(ish), but can't decide whether to build or cheat, er, I mean buy already assembled. I may be basing that decision entirely on this thread. No pressure!
  18. Hi Piers, Really good to have you here. Have a good look around this forum while doing your research, and don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. We're all happy to help. Rich
  19. You're daughter looks amazing and adorable in that armour. Can't wait to see a mini Phasma!
  20. [emoji1] I guess we've all been there!
  21. Looking really good Aaron. You're well on your way to advanced levels, let alone basic clearance
  22. No worries mate. If your man doesn't have one just send me a message. And I'd always be up for a TK related visit (Had one yesterday as it happens!) Hats off to you for wanting to do it all from scratch. Much respect [emoji106]
  23. Congratulations Matt Looking forward to seeing your EIB application!
  24. This is so cool Tim. Really excited for you. If we lived a little closer (not opposite sides of the country) I'd happily loan you my rivet gun. If no one near you has one let me know anyway and we'll sort something out A lot of the armour is the same between ANH and ESB, so you may find you don't need to build a complete new set; just the odd pieces that need that extra bit of work. Might save you some time and effort. Good luck with this Tim. With everything you've already done with the previous armour you're gonna walk this
