  1. Thanks for this Justin. Fab news. It was seeing your costume list that actually gave me the idea of doing this (Its a slippery slope all this costuming!!!!). Doesn't the HWT require light weathering on the armour? How does that work if you want to switch back to ANH (etc.)? Re the blasters... So, as long as I have the correct holster and holster fixings, I can substitute the E-11 for the DLT-19? (Just checking I understand) Looking forward to seeing you take Glenn's crown for the most outfits! lol
  2. My ESB TK has recently achieved Centurion (yay!), and I'm now looking at ANH stunt and hero. I know I'm going to need 3 different helmets, 2 different E11 blasters, 2 (maybe 3) different holsters, 2 different pairs of gloves, and 3 different belts. That still leaves most of the armour the same between outfits (I think). Can I share the common items between outfits and still retain lvl 2 and 3 status on each one? If I have a DLT-19 with the ANH stunt and hero does that mean I can do without the ANH E11 and holster and use my ESB belt (no holster fixings)? Thanks, Rich
  3. I'm 6'4" and bizarrely have needed mobility cuts (can't really explain why, just that it's far more comfortable). Don't like that it's left large gaps at the back of my knees, but still managed to pass centurian, so can't be that bad! [emoji1] Important thing with mobility cuts, if you want to go for lvl 2 or 3 they must not extend beyond the raised ridge.
  4. The poppers I just got from amazon, and the canvas (actually nylon webbing) was a random Google search. You don't need an exact size for the material part, as long as its fairly strong, and big enough to get a fair amount of glue on. If you have a store near you that sells items for making clothes (such as Dunelm in the UK) you can likely get both items you need from there. This is the kind of kit you want for the press studs, as it has the tools you need. You'll also need a hammer and belt punch (some kits a punch is included). https://www.trimmingshop.co.uk/4-parts-press-studs-button-with-fixing-hand-tool-for-leather-crafts-jackets.html https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-leather-hole-punch/p/0343445
  5. You don't want the snap fixings for the bottom right hand strap to be visible from the outside. Make up something this... Glue this to the inside of your armour using e6000 or similar. Be careful not to get glue on the metal parts, as chemical reactions can cause the metal to heat and may warp your armour. Easy to avoid as long as your careful.
  6. This is how something called the practical popper method is usually installed. Your armour may be put together differently, but you could still do this for the extra Strapping on your right hand side. (Images are as looking at the inside of your armour)
  7. I think I've got it. You say that your right hand side has only one snapping point. Most suits I've seen (including mine) have a second hidden snapping point towards the bottom. I reckon that if you were to add that then it would solve your problem. Here's a pic of the inside of my armour, and I'll dig out a 'schematic' showing common strapping asap.
  8. In my experience you won't find a more helpful bunch! Only thing I can spot right now is that your belt is sitting pretty low at the front. Ideal position is that the top of the plastic part is just covering the bottom edge of the lowest buttons. I'd be surprised if that in itself is causing your issue, but it's the first thing that jumps out to me.
  9. Cool. Be good to see the other pics. Also, congrats on basic clearance [emoji122] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  10. Are you able to take a pic of the other side, and the strapping inside. Also a pic without the belt on at all. I'm very new to all this, but those pics may help the more experienced guys come up with ideas to help. Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk

  13. Got my kit installed behind the ears. Hope this helps someone Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  14. Can't speak from experience as I didn't need to remove any print on mine. But, I suspect any grade of sandpaper is going to leave scratches that are going to be a [emoji2959] to remove. Hopefully someone with experience can say more, but I'm thinking either something like t-cut (gently) or a solvent like white spirit to see if it dissolves the print, maybe even gently with brasso(?). Whatever you do go gently and sparingly!!! As with anything, test on a small, not visible section first, an offcut would be perfect, and ideally hang on to see if anyone else has ideas first. 15. Just a suggestion (won't affect any level of clearance, I think)... Pop a bit of Velcro (the soft side) of the back of your td clips. It'll stop the metal scratching your plastic armour. Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  16. Looking forward to reading you EIB and Centurian applications Damo! [emoji106] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk

  21. Thank you SO much!!!! (It's 2am here, and I keep waking to check my phone!) Thank you to all the D.O. team (and beyond) for your help and guidance. You've all been so warm and welcoming the whole process has been a pleasure, and I'm actually sad that it's come to a close. Huge thanks to Dan again, my UK armourer (sp? [emoji6]). Without him launching me on this path I would've been lost. Finally (this has become an Oscars speech!), I need to thank my wife. Aside from being a fantastic photographer, she's been not only supportive and understanding of my various man child hobbies, but also extremely tolerant of the time and money I've spent on them! [emoji1] Again, thank you all, and I will do all I can to assist anyone up and coming where I'm able. Thank you x Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks Mario. This is the most nervous I've been for a while!! Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk

  24. Hi again Tony, Have you ever tried mounting the mics inside your hovi tips? Could your hovi tip speakers work in reverse as poor man's mics? Thanks, Rich Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
