I would like to add a small personal bullet point that I (at 6'4") did find that adding mobility cuts made my leg parts much more comfortable, so don't automatically assume you don't need / can't have if you're taller. However, it does add more black space at the back of the knee though, which doesn't look as good. Absolutely agree to finish the build first then add only if necessary.

Having the notch (or mobility cut) is fine all the way up to level 3, Centurion. What you need to watch when having a mobility cut is that you don't go beyond the raised area of molding on the shin or thigh (yours is fine). It would benefit from being straighter / more even, and filling the gap below the coverstrip (either a scrap of ABS glued from behind, or filled with abs paste, to stop your black undersuit from showing through). Otherwise, no problem. I'm more concerned about what appears to be a crack in the coverstrip at the top!?

Morgi Requesting Pre Approval Review (RS)
CallMeMrTibbles replied to Morgi's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
Just to add, normally I'd suggest altering the length of the straps. I only suggest moving the poppers because it doesn't look like there's enough length in the strap to shorten it. -
Morgi Requesting Pre Approval Review (RS)
CallMeMrTibbles replied to Morgi's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
I think lifting the popper tab(s) higher up is a good idea. It's a relatively easy change, and can be adjusted again in the future in needed. Just take your time, be careful not to damage your chest plate, and remember to not get glue on the metal parts -
Morgi Requesting Pre Approval Review (RS)

Your comments at the beginning of this thread are very kind Luca. Thank you. I don't have the same level of experience as Joseph, Glen or Tino, but I can see how close you are to a really high level build, and you should be extremely proud of yourself. The purpose of the v tabs is usually more to stop the butt plate from popping out and overlapping the kidney, but it 'can' also pull the sides in to help with the issue Joseph identified. To be honest, I think I'd fit v tabs to every armour I built from now on, as it just helps to keep everything in the correct place, so my advice would be to add them and see what effect they have. The alignment of your ab could be that the strapping from chest to ab needs tweaking a little. You could try to shorten the chest to ab strap a little on your left hand side to bring the left hand side of you ab plate up. It looks like the popper tabs in your chest plate are pretty close to the bottom return edge (can you remove the ab to chest straps so we can see where the popper tabs are?), and this could make the strapping difficult to tweak. You may benefit from adding popper tabs a bit higher up meaning you can tweak the fit using longer or shorter straps. -

Awesome! Welcome to the ranks! -
Hey Eric, Welcome to FISD and the 501st. Don't worry, although it can be overwhelming for everyone at first the guys here and in your local garrison will help you at every step in getting your costume together and ready for trooping. There's no such thing as a silly question, so ask away, post lots of pics, and have a good look around the forum as a starting point to your research. Looking forward to seeing your build and the pics when you start trooping. Rich

So it does. This guy only supplies assembled and painted, but comes very highly recommended.

Thanks (again) Joseph. I'll double check the dimensions against my dimensions as I remember (I think) the pack should be just larger than my waist

That's great Joseph! Thank you [emoji106]

I already think I know the answer to this question (I suspect its no), but gonna ask to make sure... Is the R1 version of the SE-14R passable for HWT? I'm looking good at the RDR SE, and the obvious difference is the scope position. ----------------

Looking great. Good luck with your clearance [emoji106]

Hey Brandon, Welcome to FISD! Best advice I can think of... - Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. even ones you think are silly (maybe especially ones you think are silly!). - post lots of pictures, they speak a thousand words. - have a good look around the forum and do lots of research (have a good look at the advanced tactics section too; it's never too early to be aware of that) - measure twice (or more) before cutting, and take your time. Rushing can easily lead to mistakes. We'll all be looking forward to seeing your build progress and the pics from your first troop. Rich

Hey Ryan, Welcome to FISD. As others have said, you'll get all the help you need here. Don't be afraid to ask, and there's no such thing as a silly question. When asking for help a picture paints a thousand words, so post pics whenever you're able. I find tapatalk really useful for image sharing, and others using sites like imgur. If you get stuck just ask. Don't worry about not having prior experience working with plastics. I didn't before starting on this, and with all the help you'll get you'll be fine. Just remember to take things slow, and double and triple check measurements before cutting; it's better to cut too little than cut too much. And if you're not sure, just ask (there's a pattern here [emoji1]). Have a good look around the forum before getting started. Its a really good idea to look around the advanced tactics section right from the start too; can make things much easier for you if you decide to go for that later on. I'm looking forward to seeing your build progress and the pics from your first troop! Rich

TLJ / TROS CRL Update Work Flow
CallMeMrTibbles replied to ukswrath's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Legion webmaster just put a new post up about possible disruption on 13th September, in case any CRL changes/uploads are planned around that time. https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=68&p=1384437#top -
Gonna replace bottom right box with this (as it should be closer to ideal size, and I'd prefer it to be obvious I've not used the same box twice). https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0000AN4CI/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_6F6BPFAZ9CDBE99JSNK4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Ordered these for the 4 black rubber buttons on top left box https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DPMKQWC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_SH8A1113Y220QQEQ1AHA
