  1. Congratulations Tarkan, and welcome to 501st. Looking forward to seeing the pics from your first troop
  2. These pics look outstanding! Can't wait to hear more about this.
  3. Looking really good Jacob. Best of luck with your application [emoji106]
  4. Perfect. Thank you both! Much appreciated [emoji106]
  5. Soft parts questions for the DOs (in readiness for higher levels): Pauldron. Does it matter what colour the poppers are at the neck? CRL pic shows them as dark finish rather than silver. I'm ordering from Burkbench, and they normally seem to fit silver Also, seen a thread from last year by Nada where there were issues with a visible rivet near the neck, which burkbench pauldrons also have(?) Ammo Pouches: There's 2 different patterns. Does it matter which one is used? And should the shoulder pouch have the small tool pouch attached?
  6. Oil drain pan chopped in half to remove uneven profile. I'm planning to glue wooden batons to the inside edges so that I can attach a sheet of black plastic with a hole for the OII. The half hole at the bottom will also be blanked off. 24" tube for scale
  7. Just to add another UK option for commission builds.... https://www.facebook.com/TrooperStuff/ These guys use RWA parts to create commission builds, and RWA make all of their armour parts in both standard size and XL (if you're tall or chunky, or both). RWA is very popular in the UK Garrison because of its good quality, and Ross gives excellent customer service. Whichever supplier you go with, however much research you do here (or elsewhere), always have a conversation with the supplier letting them know your dimensions. Most of the independent suppliers will be more than happy to have that conversation.
  8. [5] Visit the Vulcan - Southend 22nd August 2021 Family day for kids and enthusiasts to get up close to one of the last few remaining Avro Vulcan bombers, plus other jet cockpits and exhibitors. Fairly quiet, but made up for with enthusiasm with kids really getting in the character role playing. http://www.avrovulcan.com/
  9. It was this page I was trying to link to. Is this acceptable to all levels?
  10. Glen, Would this guys method be OK for all levels (depending on how well I did it of course)
  11. I'm certainly up for having a go if you have the templates and I can get the material. Thanks Glen
  12. So, turns out the UK company that said they could make faux leather ammo pouches, can't (sounds like they tried, but it just didn't work out). I've contacted Geeky Pinks for a quote as they've also said they could make them, but there's then the additional cost of international postage. I can get canvas pouches for £40 each, and was thinking of painting them in matte PlastDip, then weathering to give a leather appearance. Anyone tried anything like that before, as no idea if it'll actually work(?)
  13. Rough placement of parts to get an idea if sizes and boxes will work. (Still need to source the bottom right funnel assembly, aerial tube still not cut to length). The oil pan is 14.5 inches wide, and is the widest pan of this type I could find in UK. Pretty sure not as wide as the usual wedco pan :/ The 3 sandwich boxes aren't trimmed yet, so will have a smaller footprint. Blue box has correct(ish) measurements, but looks too big relatively, so may replace. Think the other 2 will be OK. Top centre cylinder will be shortened by about 1.25 inches. The large radio box is too big. Will either resize or source another. Considering flattening off the bottom of the oil pan too. I'm comparing to these three pics (believe one is Joseph, not sure the other two), as well as the game screen grabs.
  14. That's cool. Same width all the way. I have a plan [emoji106]
  15. Oil drain pan turned up today. Does it need to be the same thickness along its full length, or can I leave it shallower at the top than at the bottom? Just weighing up a few alternative ways to approach it.
  16. Glen, do you mix dish soap with the water for these grades too?
  17. When you get your kit approved you'll have access to the 501st forum as well, and they have another for sale section. You get everything from complete outfits to a box of parts in all for sale sections, but even a complete kit will likely need some adjustment to fit. Def worth a look. Can't offer suggestions otherwise (I'm only familiar with one manufacturer at the mo), but good luck with your search [emoji106]
  18. Have a look at this post. A little way down there is a description of the levels of wet and dry to use. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/51192-morgis-anh-stunt-build-first-build/page/3/?tab=comments#comment-724624
  19. Hey Stephanie, You're making excellent progress! Keep at it, you're going to be a pride to your garrison
