  1. Wondered if that was the case, as its a reasonable gap between thigh and shin. Does the bottom of the thigh armor feel quite tight, or would you say its a good fit? I can see why you'd want to raise the thighs, as it must be uncomfortable having this rub all the time. Have you had any joy with that?
  2. All the best with your build. Hope you enjoy the process as much as the finished article! Might have missed it, but are you building stunt or hero armor?
  3. Lovin reading through your build buddy. Hope you managed to sort this sniper knee
  4. Just checking, do you mean its rubbing on your calf armour, or your actual, human calf?
  5. I have a large head, so had to have zero padding at the very top to not have too big a gap between the my helmet and the shoulder straps. Might be worth waiting till you've got the torso loosely together before coming to helmet wiring and padding. All the best with your build
  6. I've used Humbrol white enamel with my RWA abs armour, and its perfect. Can't comment on how it will be against RS Props armour, but I'd be very surprised if its a problem
  7. Thanks Rob. Starting a helmet collection isn't something I'm going to find difficult I won't be able to do my belt the same way you did, as I'm going to take the outfits up to centurion level, but reassuring to hear about others that have done similar things.
  8. [emoji1] If its useful to you then you can be sure it'll be useful to someone else too, so no worries! Best advice I can find for now would be live in it as it is for a little while, and keep trying the armour on. You may find twisting your arms or your armour in a particular way gives you the reach you need. If you still find that you can't do what's needed then we can try and find other ways together [emoji16][emoji106]
  9. Really glad its getting there. Hopefully a few small tweaks and it'll be enough to do what's needed [emoji1696] Everyone is built different so if it works for you then keep doing it! [emoji106]
  10. That was quick!! [emoji1] Have you tried it on since changing the forearm elastic? If not I'd recommend doing that before changing anything else. You may find it's made enough of a difference. As you said, changing strapping is pretty painless and is reversible if needed (always a good thing!). Not right or wrong, purely an observation... I only connect my shoulder and bicep on the outside area (plastic to plastic, where you have). I don't have a connection on the inside (from elastic to inside of the bicep). It 'could' be that attaching in both places at the same time is restricting movement. Maybe not, but something to consider.
  11. Hi Matt, Good to see you here. Have fun with your build, and you'll get lots of help here, so don't be afraid to ask questions [emoji106]
  12. This is the video I used for where to put my forearm elastic, and its worked pretty well for me [emoji106] Good luck mate
  13. Yep, as Glen said you've got the elastic in the wrong place. This is definitely making your situation a lot worse. Mobility isn't perfect at the best of times without creating other problems [emoji1] Hope this sorts your problem!
  14. Can put post a pic of where the elastic is between your forearm and bicep (just loose armour, not wearing it). Bending your elbow shouldn't be pulling your bicep down [emoji848]
  15. You have truly mastered the dark arts! Yep. I think I'm just put together badly [emoji23]
  16. Brilliant, and much cheaper! Thanks Glen
  17. I'm hoping to order an RDR dlt-19 in a few months (getting the cash together, plus he's redoing his moulds). I was thinking of adding blast fx electronics, and have realised that there's no scope on the standard dlt or anywhere else obvious to fit the screens. Anyone fitted similar kits and how did you approach this? Thanks, Rich
  18. Seem to remember Ross telling me his armour is thin, I think only 1mm abs, so is very flexible compared to most armour. Makes it look easy! [emoji23]
  19. That looks good to me, but.... I'm no DO or armourer, so before trimming check in with someone that signs off on outfits. I'd hate for you to ruin your shoulder bells if I gave bad advice! If you don't have a local/garrison armourer to check with then post that pic and question here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/191-tk-pre-approvals/ For sure you'll get the right answer there
  20. Here's a link where the shoulder bell curve is discussed. Might help https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28085-angled-shoulder-bells/
  21. That bit I'm not sure. Best to run that exact question to someone like a DO to check. When you say shoulder bell strapping, do you mean because your shoulder bells hit against your chest plate? If that's the case then do you have any curve on the inside edge of your shoulder bell, as if not this might help. I'll have a look for some ref pics to show what I mean
  22. Yes, same problem. I am considering trimming a little more in the curve of the elbow pit part of the forearm to allow more easy bending, but its a fine line before you could remove too much. The armour definitely wasn't designed with practicality in mind! I don't have voice system yet, but I do have fans and hearing assist, both of which have controls in the helmet. All I can suggest is to try as much as possible to position your system such that the controls are as easy to reach as possible (easier said than done I realise).
  23. Love it mate. Yep, getting lots of outfits out of the minimal amount of armour is a VERY attractive proposition, so good to know how simple it is, and looking forward to getting stuck in (once my bank account has recovered!). Also, thanks for the tips on HWT weathering; that's going to be very useful. Plus, multiple helmets and blasters mounted in prominent positions around the house has got to look cool, but does require a very understanding wife. Watch this space for future submissions. Thanks Justin. All very much appreciated.
