  1. Did you get another suit?
  2. Yes it can- G4Tyrant ( Graham) Has it set up that way. I think the Rom is worth saving for and is actually good value for money in that it does exactly what it says it will do, this was developed by our own UKG co-founder John May and is still, in my opinion, essential trooping equipment!
  3. Is indee me and Pete who met some of the original TK's and the first thing we were both struck by was their height.
  4. John's right Ricky, there will be some local events for you I assure you but as he says it is also worth trying to get to some of the weekend troops like the NSC, Mem or Expo where you get a chance to troop and socialise with a greater number of members. As Brian suggested you can save money by getting together with one or more to lessen the costs share the driving etc. Also as Mark and John have both said if you get the chance to go overseas to troop that is a wonderful experience, fortunately 'Stormtrooper' is the same in any language.
  5. Hmmm interesting, you seem to be almost advocating the lowering of standards? Setting the bar too high? I don't believe the bar is set too high and I don't believe that working to the lowest common denominator to facilitate greater membership of EIB is the way to go. Remember EIB is a choice and in no way compulsory and please correct me if I am wrong but I don't believe it affects your membership of this detachment. I do believe that helping and encouraging those troopers that are of a mind to go EIB to go the extra yard is what we should and what I always thought we were about- Troopers helping Troopers!. Yes the idea is to take our TK's to an above legion level but your suggestions seem to imply to me that we shouldn't be the best we can be. The information now available to us is phenomenal and the kind of upgrades that are generally suggested are rarely that expensive, as you point out yourself with your example of elastic at Walmart. I personally will try to help and encourage in the way that I was helped and encouraged when I was upgrading my armour to EIB standards. I am extremely proud of my EIB award and have always valued my membership here. I don't think any of this is unrealistic in any way and I will continue to help where I can, that is the FUN of this place for me! Sorry for the Hijack Paul - you look good buddy but that Ab-button definitely needs addressing so are you going to go for the triple???
  6. ----------------I used these as they have the advantage of Chicago screws and the look of rivets.
  7. Looks like the earcaps have been upgraded.
  8. Phew you had us worried there for a while.
  9. The originals had no strapping to keep the back and chest together they were strapped independently of eachother- the back was connected to the Kidney and the chest was connected to the Ab plate. Also I think you need to raise the belt as it is sitting a little low, then you will be able to see the split in the Kidney/butt without having to remove the belt. You could also glue the shoulder straps on at the front and leave the rear free floating with white elastic loops holding them in place so you lose the velcro which makes them sit a little proud of the armour, these, along with the handplates suggested by Brian, are real quick fixes and I believe will enhance the overall screen accurate look of the armour.
  10. I would agree his armour is larger but I have not found that to be the case with the helmets I have seen, my friends RT is smaller than my TM.
  11. I'm sure it will be price prohibitive for many of us! I wish SGB would do another run, I have seen Billy's SGB concept lid up close and it is a work of art.
  12. QFT LOL
  13. Can't be UKG Steve- they have their lids off!
  14. Check out the thigh armour on the background TK- His left one is turned around and his right one has flexed at the top! Almost looks as if it is made of rubber!!
  15. Rich that is outstanding mate! You really have nailed it, and kudos to your better half for such great pictures to show off the armour at its best!
  16. I have met many people who have their height listed on sites such as IMDB as one thing where in actuallity they are another. How many times have you been to a con only to be surprised that the actor you see is not as tall as you imagined.
  17. I don't believe for a second Mark Hamill is 5'9''. For the record I met some of the original troopers this year at an event and I was shocked that they were generally not tall guys.
  18. That is amazing work! It is so amazing I think I would go the next step and paint out the dial and the green Sonix sticker, more like the originals. I know this would hide some of the incredible detail that you have included but somehow that would make it even cooler that you painted it.
  19. I'm off the board for a couple of days and Wow!!!!!! Looks great mate!
  20. Congrats mate!!! Just a thought it might look better if you shorten the holster straps so they don't show over the top of the belt.
  21. Nice job!!!! You just can't beat TM IMO.
  22. Paul if anyone deserved to see you did! Nice one mate;)
