  1. Holster on the wrong side- promo pic from ANH.
  2. We would sincerely love to have you guys visit!! I hope you make it happen one of these days, I promise we will look after you.
  3. http://www.flickr.com/photos/89batman/s ... 68/detail/ The UKG were at The London Expo last weekend for the new Mem- Expo event. This was an amazing troop and we really stole the show. Three days of hard core trooping!! It was great to see everyone together and we were joined by the CO of the UK Rebel Legion and the R2 owners club! We also were joined by several new recruits who some may say had a trial by fire, talk about in at the deep end. They all loved it though and appear to be hooked! On the Saturday we were asked by the Starlight foundation to attend and make a wish come true for a lovely little boy who is sadly terminally ill. It was an honour and a privilege to be able to be a part of making that little boy's dream come true. The event was huge success for us and we were able to show off some of our new and old props. Some of you may recognise the Death Star corridor from CE but the speeder is new. Renovated by the Vectis Remnant squad led by our very own Matt Sparling. Matt and the guys really stepped up to the plate when the speeder was going to be sold off or worse still scrapped!! I am sure that you will alll agree they did a fine job and it was a huge hit at the weekend. This led to them receiving one our highest honours, The Graham Campbell award, so named after our founder. I had the privilege of presenting this to them at our annual ball on the Saturday evening. This is probably the largest event in the UK and looks set to grow and grow. I hope maybe some of our brothers from overseas may be able to join us next year.
  4. The FISD is a great tool for anyone who is embarking on the long road to all things TK. as such spreading the word to those that show an interest can only be a good thing. As long as you take into consideration all the suggestions that have been brought forward I am sure you won't have a problem. If it were me I would get my spotter to give them a contact email. That way you can pass on a myriad of info to them should they get in touch and you also know they are serious because they have bothered to email you. Either way enjoy the EMS and make sure you have someone there to look after you.
  5. Sorry I don't go over here anywhere near as much as I would like these days but I have to say the old place is looking great!!! I love the new look.
  6. Alex I apologise if this has gone off topic, I wish you nothing but success with your application and would be happy to help with any advice I can. I am sure you will reach the standard you desire in no time with the help of everyone here. Keep at it buddy.
  7. I have to say I think the issue here is EIB and Centurion. No one is criticizing the armour as is but if we are to set standards, achievable standards I might add, that mean we gain EIB or now also Centurion then these standards should reflect the achievement surely. If, as is my belief, that centurion is supposed to represent screen accuracy then it should do just that or why bother? Using the CRL etc to justify something that is wrong does not make it less wrong. If you are suggesting that finishing strips are only for ESB and ANH therefore it is acceptable for ROTJ suits not to have them then by your logic this suit should also have trim, bubble lenses, no split backplate, different ab buttons, different andplates etc. What we need is continuity and a willingness to say no. Be prepared to be honest and tell someone that their armour is great but is not yet up to the standard they are striving for. Then help the trooper get there armour up to those required standards. I, like many others, worked hard and jumped through hoops in order to achieve Elite/EIB and there are many who no longer frequent this board as they feel the standard has been dropped in order to increase numbers. Me I would rather have fewer EIB but have the standards be the best possible- isn't that troopers helping troopers? It takes a real friend to tell you the truth.
  8. In this instance the exchange rate is not an issue as he is based in the UK, as for the wait time, I have dealt with Paul alot and have never had an issue, there is good communication and let's face it the end product is worth waiting for! TM all the way bro.
  9. Just a quick update for you all- we have been trooping all weekend at the London Comic-con Expo and have sold over £400 worth of tickets so we are getting towards that goal with still a while to go! A big thanks to all here who have helped by purchasing tickets please feel free to tell friends or buy more!! And of course thanks to CFO for supplying free of charge a set for us to auction.
  10. Thanks to everyone who is supporting this- it is for a very good cause! Troopers helping troopers help others!
  11. I'm sure that we can arrange tickets for anyone that wants them - the draw is on August 28 so there is plenty of time- I'll get some details and post asap.
  12. http://www.ehow.com/how_7878216_install-split-rivets-guitar-case.html Have a look at this mate- it seems you just bend them!
  13. Thanks Brian!! And Paul- appreciatte the compliment sir!! We do our best!
  14. Assuming it is an intentional detail as we all seem to agree, why? It seems a very odd and irrelavent shape to have.
  15. Wow! How dumb are they???? TK boots are going to put them out of business on price alone!
  16. Hope this works out for you Paul. customs have there place I know but ... well you know.
  17. John I personally think your first instinct is correct, a Stunt set up of some sort. Look at how the crotch and legs are trimmed allowing much more movement than would generally expected in armour. Also when you factor in the fact that he is clearly doing a stunt in this pic it makes it make even more sense. I seeem to recall a theory a while back that some of the armour, Thighs I think, may have been rubber on the stunt guys. Did this only ever stay a theory or was there any evidence provided? looking on the thighs on this pic it seems possible as they do seem an odd shape.
  18. You just can't beat TM! I'm really going to enjoy watching this come together.
  19. Congratulations Paul on retaining the post that I know you hold dear, and thanks for being there to do the job mate, I am sure you will guide us smoothly through the next year.
  20. Ultimately aren't we trying to acieive a uniform standard? Yes I am sure there are many variants we can all site but they are not EIB approvable in my opinion. Much as I would encourage anyone to push the boundries and challenge the norm I believe EIB has a set of standards and that is what you need to acheive in order to aquire this award. Just my two cents.
