  1. Send Paul a pm mate, he is a member here. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  2. Paul- I have seen two different versions of the calf closure- the style you are doing with the hooks pointing inwards and another style with the hooks pointing outwards. The ones where the hooks point outwards mean the elastic is more out of sight and the calf can close more tightly whereas the inward facing mean the elastic is in between the two pieces and achieves a less flush look. Is one right and one wrong or is it personal choice? For the record the outward hooks are on a 'replica' suit but the logic of doing it that way is why I am asking.

    A Salute to TM

Great post Steve!! Paul you are a great asset to this hobby of ours and long may you continue to help and support us all. Thanks mate!
  4. Thanks Eric- found it and am using it!! We have had this for the UKG for a while and now FISD my life is getting easier- thanks for doing this guys!
  5. It is not showing up when I search.
  6. Paul you just keep on raising the bar!!! Thanks for sharing!
  7. I'll think you'll find that Mark-Firebladejedi introduced the idea of covert fixings with poppers way, way back in the day And Mr.Haggis (Billhag) posted a splendid explanation / how to back in the good ol' days of 2008 http://www.whitearmo...opic=4553&st=20
  8. I can't believe what I am reading!! I agree that the defence offered does look similar to that that a certain Mr A offered and we all know the story there. I believe that the truth always comes out!
  9. Paul I am lucky enough to have met and trooped with you. You are a true gentleman and a very sincere and genuine guy. Your passion is unquestionable and your dedication is beyond reproach. Very few can even imagine the time and work you have put in for us all and the rest you are now facing is well deserved. I personally and sincerely thank you sir and look forward to trooping with you again soon!! ( About time you came here!)
  10. Paul put me down for a couple of sets please mate. Try Plasti-dip paint - it is special paint for latex and will really do the trick mate. http://www.plastidip.co.uk/eStore/index.cfm?type=Domestic_Solutions/Plastidip&stage=1&gclid=CNqgzI7j064CFcImtAod0VBacw
  11. I know that Billy (Billhag) swears by the use of talcum powder on the sock when he's modifying armour with a modelling iron. Seems to work pretty good when you see the fantastic results he gets.
  12. Billhag's HF pimp http://forum.whitear...l=&fromsearch=1
  13. I followed the same route as Simon as per his advice and it works perfectly.
  14. I just wanted to update everyone here. Here are some pics of one of our troopers Darren Langthorne presenting the Helmet to young Owen. He was totally blown away by the surprise and by all accounts this was absolutely the highlight of his birthday!!! Again many thanks to the guys at RS who so generously provided the helmet kit and many thanks to Pete ( Stukatrooper) Brebner for building it to perfection and of course to Darren for taking the time out and presenting the helmet to Owen!! The pics really speak for themselves!!
  15. Thanks for sharing Rob. You pointed out that the joining strips were different sizes, do you think they are both the original strips as the one that has been riveted on looks as though it may have been a replacement?
  16. Steve I think I may be on my own here but I am not sold on the eyes. I see where you are going but I think they need to be trimmed a little more, for me the way they are at that moment seems a little exaggerated especially as you are trying to recreate the trooper in your avatar.
  17. To one and all.... well almost all eh Matt
  18. I would like to say a very sincere thanks to both the guys at RS props. Recently at a large event in the UK, the UKG had the privillege of helping an organisation called the Starlight foundation make a wish come true for a very sick little boy. He spent the day with Batman, spider-man, Supergirl as well as the best the Empire could provide including of course Stormtroopers and Lord Vader. At this event there was the RPF table and Rob, from RS, showed Owen, the little boy around the displays including the RS suit that was on display. Owen fell in love with Stormtroopers and has not stopped talking about them. His Grandfather wanted to get Owen a helmet for his birthday in January and approached me through Starlight asking my advice. I called Rob and explained the situation and the RS guys boxed up a kit that arrived this morning free of charge!! It never ceases to amaze me how kind and considerate we as a community can be and I wanted to share their good deed with all. I plan to get a coouple of our UKG TKs to delliver the helmet on his birthday so as to make the day extra special. Again a massive thanks to Rob and Si you are true gents!
