  1. I think it looks either too tall or too narrow, also the originals seem to taper towards the top. Of course this could all be the angle of the shot. Really glad to see we will soon have an original style neckseal Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  2. I don't believe the troopers wore balaclavas I also don't believe the original ANH helmets had frown mesh either. Just putting this out there, has anyone seen these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-6-Scale-Hot-Toys-Original-Predator-1-Neck-Collar-/170668403633?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item27bca12bb1 I know this is a toy but it is based on the one they used in the movie and is not disilmilar to an ANH neck seal.
  3. Pete it looks amazing mate and having seen this and helped a little I know it does not need any changes to the build. Screen shots and archive photos back up the build and it is in my opinion a 'no brainer' for EIB and Centurion.
  4. Loving this thread. The last unknown! Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  5. I think David hits the nail on the head- the Star Wars universe was not clinical and pristene it was gritty and used. Stormtroopers fitted right in! Personally I go for a more accurate screen look but it is all about choice. The information is here for you to devour and then decide. If you want a more clincal TK then it is your costume you should go for it. Personally I would be worried about mixing parts too much particularly such main parts as I susppect it may look odd, the different sculpts may not compliment each other and the colours will probably be very different.
  6. Like most people I totally bought into AA's stories when SDS first hit the scene and I remember when I first saw the Battlespec and indeed bought one, I thought it was the most amazing thing, actually cast from an original helmet, made by the original maker wow I was in heaven! Now when you look at the pic's it is hard to figure out why I was taken in by all of the lies and didn't see it back then. The SDS looks really wierd now and the add on ear caps and vocoder are just odd. Seeing the RS next to it just shows how far away from the truth AA's stories are. Great comparrison shots.
  7. Happy to contribute to FISD. Great forum, great info anf great people! Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Please hurry it was a great way to keep up to date on the latest stuff, I am really missing it!!
  9. When belt questions pop's up on the UKG our Cheif Armourer Billhag (Billy Haggis) normally puts up these little rough guides. I hope they help
  10. Its a resin re-cast of a Master Replica, these have been doing the rounds in one form or another for years now (Maker Of Things being just one of them). They are quite brittle and don't stand up very well for trooping but they can make a good display piece. Doopy's in my opion is a far better option.
  11. Having seen that up close I can say that is an amazing helmet Steve! It is the perfect Luke replica. Paul your work and research is just amazing. Personally if I had to pick one of the two for myself I'd go high brow, it just looks cool.
  12. Frank Sometimes the glue method doesn't always hold up, especially on some thicker armour plastics. Our Cheif Armour at the UKG, Billy (Billhag), came up with this simple but effective way to tackle this problem that some guys were having http://www.whitearmo...showtopic=18483 Hope this helps .
  13. I still do not understand how Jedi Robe get away with what they are doing- they totally misrepresent what they are selling and are phenomenally over priced!
  14. Mate I have never seeen anyone with a broader smile than you after that troop! You looked great mate.

  16. Looking great- love the Brian Muir autograph. He is such a nice guy.
  17. Thanks Rob. I have never really asked this and have theories but does Brian know who built the suits? Did AA supply them ready made or was it Mollo's team that trimmed them and put them together when they were delivered to the studio. My guess is that Mollo's team did the strapping etc.
  18. Do we have any idea as to who made this suit? Was this one of the Elstree suits or one of Ainsworths? My understanding, and I could be wrong, was that Elstree made some suits prior to AA. but the Vac former was not up to the task of making 50+ suits. The idea that Sandies had only one snap makes sense and falls in line with the fact that changes were made when they got to the studio, ab buttons, sniper plate why not an extra snap for adjustment. I guess we will never really know as the documentation doesn't seem to exist although I live in hope that some more discoveries will be made.
  19. Thanks Paul! Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
