  1. Also as of the Shadow Trooper release the shins are still numbered wrong. Check yours twice when it arrives. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. That seems very expensive. I bought a tkittle belt and will get the justjoseph hand guards. Most of the Anovos elastic is reusable and I think I have about $50 in all the correct snaps, rivets and glue. Probably $150 for everything to do two suits including the 3 Humbrol paints. 3. I have done two Anovos kits now and nothing was faster than score and snap. I scored with a fresh until knife then made a cut on all return edges with the lexan scissors to create a path for the snap to start and stop. This allows for clean snaps with no bending tearing or cracking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. You could just use the bucket, gloves hand plates and boots. Like a tuxedo trooper. I did that in work cloths taking my son to and from school on May 4th and everyone loved it. Plus easy to pop the bucket and be back to "normal ". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I get anti fog wipes from the motorcycle shop. They are for lexan shields and goggles so they won't hurt the TK lenses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I second the tkittle. So much better than the Anovos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. If you want to learn about Andrew there are many topics here and a lengthy court battle that disputes his claims greatly. You will have to make your own decisions. I would never buy from him personally. Btw I love my Anovos kit approved at 6'3" 200 lbs with no modification and going for Centurion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. What was wrong with the stickers? They should be centurion approvable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. The bucket looks a lot like the Death Trooper to me. Pretty cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Few other details. The drop boxes should be even with the end of the plastic portion of the belt. On the TD the clips should be out touching the end caps and the middle white plastic part should be centered. Great job. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. The best Anovos guide is the sticky here by UKS Wrath Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I have only been here a short time but I still can't understand how the UKG gets away with all these strange and strict requirements for basic approval. How is it that they are allowed to require so much more than the basic CRL. This seems so out of line. To answer your question my wife is a new shadow trooper and a cheap $5 balaclava from Amazon solved all her long hair issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I think they just changed the branding because the Stanley one they list looks exactly the same as the Husky and even has the removable tray.
  14. My wife just bought one on Thursday for Rogue One opening. Maybe they are just out of stock while the Christmas stuff in in the store. After having both of them I prefer the Sterilite 40 Gal one. I can fit everything but my bucket and is is so much smaller and lighter than the Husky.
  15. I had the same issue as yours on two of my kits. You will probably have to remove the Velcro but I taped them down tight with blue painters tape then put them in a big turkey pan with boiling water for about 10 seconds then held them and ran cool water over them. I only submerged the back 1/4 of the shin as to not reshape everything. This helped the plastic relax and take the shape to keep the cover strip nice and tight. The cool water helps lock in the new shape. BTW: The Anovos shadow trooper still has the shins numbered wrong.
  16. For me the plastic plates actually made marks that can faintly be seen from the outside. I wouldn't recommend going that way. I also tried a single snap on 1" elastic but it allowed the pieces to move too much side to side and not stay in alignment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I have built 2 Anovos sets now and I used most of the supplied elastic and 1" webbing from the kit. Along with a bag of 100 Tandy line 24 snaps. I used the 1" webbing to attach 2 male snaps to each "plate" and used 3 of these glued to each joint of armor. Then used the 2" wide supplied elastic to join these with 2 female snaps per joint. So ab to chest is 6 plates and 3 straps. Same for butt to ab, and ab to back. It is very secure and easy to do. The first one I made plastic backed snap plates and riveted the snaps to them before gluing them to the armor. The 1" nylon webbing was so much faster, easier and I think looks better. 18. I know we keep saying this but that's only because it's true. Thank you again Tony. We got my wife's Anovos Shadow Trooper done Wednesday night just in time for our local opening of Rogue One and our first troop thanks to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. That is correct. Align the top and trim the bottom to match whichever one is shorter matching the curve too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. The only way you are going to know how the chest to back plate will need to fit is to get the ab and chest taped together and then tape the butt, kidney and back together and have a helper get everything aligned. This will make sure everything is in the proper place once you start your strapping system. Don't glue the chest to back elastic until you get this figured out. Blue painter's tape is your best friend at this point.
  21. Looks like you are doing great and I feel your pain. I am at about the same point as you with the countdown to Rogue One and my wife's shadow trooper kit. To make the movie I wouldn't worry about the shims for the ab & kidney as you will still look great and can then take the time do get the shims perfect. I think even basic approval allows a gap although it isn't preferred. As far as your cover strip method it works great, especially when you close the thighs, doing one side at a time is very helpful.
  22. Them's fighting words... It's Brian. Or maybe that's the kings English way of spelling it. My wife is from Australia so I am familiar with the way you spell things wrong like colour. Just kidding and thank you.
  23. Thank you. The only thing I am missing for Centurion at this point are the latex hand guards and time to take pictures. Trying to get my wife's shadow trooper done before December 16.
  24. So I finally got approved with my Anovos kit.I thought it was going to be difficult at 6'3" but everything worked out without and modification or shims. Feels good and I can't thank Tony UKSWRATH enough for all his help. Now to get to troopn' and apply for EIB then Centurion.
  25. Just got approved, TK 76131 reporting. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=22905
