1. Pretty sure they will only contact you if you signed up for the interest list for the FOTK.
2. LOL, I have the opposite problem. My wife has bought all our costumes and I have been told I am giong to build them, wear them and have fun doing it.
3. Just saw that some people on the Anovos TFA site were recently contacted and offered an invoice for a spot in the FOTK line. Hopefully that is a good sign progress is being made. They were offered it at the new $850 price with no soft goods or bucket.
4. I am not sure where the Summer of 19 would have come from. If signing up now for an empty spot from someone canceling that should put you in their April 2019 (Spring) window since you would technically still be part of the first run although at the end.
5. September 2019? I hope that is for the next order window and not for the orders already pending. I damn sure hope they stick to their Celebration 2019 (April) date and aren't already stretching that another year to September 2019.
6. That is actually the window they gave back in September 20th on the update newsletter, Jan-April 2019. THey just aren't smart enough to update their update page as it still has the old FALL 2018 window.
7. I agree with all above. I am still waiting and will continue to wait because it isn't something I have to have, if I did I would order from someone that is actually shipping. I do have fun checking the thread and the occasional jab at Anovos though. The common theme here is that yes Anovos is painfully slow and there is always the question of if and when they will ship. The single biggest thing they could do to help their reputation is better communication and updates. We all knew there would be a long wait because that is how Anovos operates but 3 years is pretty long. As the legend Gene Wilder put it.
8. Just to keep this going........ September marks 3 years since the Anovos Beta kits came out. Yes, 3 years and still nothing.
9. Get the Kittle in white. It is a perfect match for the Anovos armor and is centurion correct.
10. Yes, nothing new. Last excuse was the 5 month delay to change the bucks to steel and I have no faith they will make their Fall 2018 estimate. Even funnier and/or sad depending on how you look at it are the updates for their Kylo Ren costume updates, now follow me on this..... March 9th, 2018: This item has completed production and is on its way to our fulfillment center. We anticipate receiving these items into our fulfillment center in March and have adjusted our schedule to Spring 2018 shipping to customers to reflect this. Ok, great it's finished with production and on the way to the fulfillment center on March 9. June 10th, 2018: This Ensemble is currently undergoing safety testing and remains on schedule to begin delivery to customers in Spring and into Summer 2018. Ok, June and it must have arrived at the fulfillment center and is undergoing safety testing. August 23rd, 2018: This ensemble remains on track to ship Summer 2018 into Fall. The final approvals are currently in process and we expect these items to arrive to our Fulfillment Center very soon. Once a firm date has been established that shipping to customers will begin, you will be notified via a separate update. Wait, What? In march they were finished and shipping to the fulfillment center but now in August, 5 months later they are going to be at the fulfillment center very soon. This is a very slow boat. Latest Update: September 4th, 2018 The production of these items has been completed this season. We are awaiting notification from our manufacturer as to when these ensembles will be loaded upon a ship to be delivered to us, a journey that may take several weeks. As it is unlikely that these items will arrive to our Fulfillment Center prior to the end of the Summer season due to this transit time, this ensemble is currently on track to ship Fall 2018. Once I have a firm date that shipping to customers will begin, I will notify you in a separate update. Again, What? These were finished and shipping to the fulfillment center in March, then August and now in September they are waiting to see when they will even be loaded onto a ship. Damn, at this point Anovos get your stories straight. I haven't minded waiting from the start with them and still don't but you would think someone there would get their notifications and stories straight. I like Anovos but their communication is the worst.
11. Damn it! I ordered my kit with the TLJ bucket, guess I have to keep waiting..................................
12. Just got my FOTK Imperial Boots yesterday and they are a little larger than the TK Boots. The 12 is a little sloppy in size but I am going to add some nice insoles so it should still be good.
13. So those gloves are great for EIB and Centurion approval but suck for actual trooping.@justjoseph has the link for nomex gloves that are much more comfortable and get a second set of his silicone guards.
14. Thanks for clarifying as to why. If i ever have issues I'll give the magnets a try. I also guess you wouldn't have to worry about it getting dirty like the velcro either.
15. Why not just use the tried and true Velcro method? I have done troops and even a few charity walks and have never had to worry about my Velcro shins.
16. I agree, join a local garrison and you might be surprised once the word gets out that you are in the military and on a budget as someone might have some old armor around that you can get cheap. Also keep an eye out in the junkyard here. The last thing you want to do is wast money on something that isn't approved. When I first got into the hobby I bought the Anovos Tier 1 kit for $350 with no knowledge of the 501st. With boots and a blaster and supplies I probably have at most $700 into it and I don't think there is any way you could do a basic to centurion build any cheaper than that but unfortunately that same kit is now $1,100 and overpriced in my opinion. I have been getting interest from friends to join the 501st for cheap and the best I could find is someone in the Georgia Garrison was approved as Kylo Ren "Matt the Radar Technician" from the SNL sketch. I have not seen the CRL but apparently there are 3 now approved and it is super cheap and hilarious. Aviator glasses $15, Gray Dickies overalls $35, Black work boots, First Order patches for the shoulders $20, wig $15 and the most expensive piece is the orange utility vest on eBay for $50. So you would have an approved costume for $135.
17. Maybe we can all pitch in a couple bucks and get Tony one so he can show us step by step how to do it correctly, LOL.
18. Well, as I am as anxious as everyone on this, I check the Anovos website quite often and it appears that something must be happening as the price just recently increased from $600-$850 for just the kit and $1,000 for the kit with the helmet. In the past they have updated this pretty close to the time that thing are going to start shipping so the next wave they can increase the price. It also shows shipping Winter 2018 on the armor page even though their calendar still shows Fall. Fingers crossed this is a sign and yes, my fingers hurt from being crossed for so long.
19. I tried reaching out to R2Dan about supplying the hardware kits from here in the US as he was having issues sourcing them but haven’t gotten any response.
20. When I did mine the standard was for everything to be satin black and the grip to be gloss. I chose to weather mine with a little silver showing on wear areas and the bolt and brass showing on the scope. -----------
21. Nobody has gotten the Anovos armor yet, we are all impatiently waiting.
22. I had a similar issue. Hopefully you used E6000 glue. I removed mine from the chest plate then put the armor on with blue painter's tape from the underside so I could see where it actually fit me. I then put the shoulder straps on and marked where they needed to go. Mine were skewed to the outside a little like yours need to be then took the armor off and glued them down. The elastic holds them down but I don't think it will correct yours when you are actually trooping.
23. I had a similar issue as I am 6'3" and had to shape the back plate too. You need to cut that return edge down to about 1/3 its current size. Then you can shape it much easier. Heat in boiling water and bend a little then heat and bend and heat and bend, don't try to do it all at once. To fix the crack as said above but I would reinforce it with some spare trimmings of the ABS on the inside then use the Acetone/ABS paste to hide the crack on the outside.
24. Actually it looks great! You should apply to the 501st.
