  1. I would agree. I am already thinking a nice aluminum backing plate with holes drilled and bonded to the underside with Plastic Welder 2. Just like a much larger and longer version of your shoulder bell bracket. We already know filling and paint are going to be needed no matter what. The same could be used for the sides.
  2. That isn't correct. The very first line says orders from now on. The Refund Issue This update reflects changes that pertain to orders placed on and after April 11, 2019.
  3. Wonder what gaskets will really ship? I just noticed the Pre-2019 orders shows the Latex gaskets but if you look at the Post 2019 pre-orders it says cloth gaskets. The cloth ones shown on the new pictures look horrible.
  4. So if I read that correctly they didn't have enough staff to get orders out before and they aren't going to add more staff to get shipments out and only ship on Monday and Wednesday so...... nothing is going to change? It still doesn't explain why something in stock should take 10-14 days to process even with a small staff only shipping on Monday and Wednesday, remember this is processing, not actually shipping it out the door. I especially like their fake comments by Anovos employees... Kevin T. Kolbe said: My experience with you guys has always been pretty good. One minor quibble (you didn’t put captains rank braids on a red velour female TOS dress), but it was an “Uhura” style anyway (and my wife doesn’t really care). So it wasn’t a big deal. Your shipping is usually pretty close to estimate, and your quality is about as good as it gets. There are a LOT of con artists out there (individuals AND companies with websites)-ANOVOS is NOT one of them! You guys are top notch! Really? When has their shipping ever been close to estimates? Not con artists like a lot of other companies? I sure hope they come through.
  5. Little bit of an update here. I just chatted with one of the CS representatives that I have built up a little bit of a rapport with over the last 6 months and asked him about the newly shipping FOTK. He said that one of the biggest issues it the manufacturer and their inconsistent shipping which somewhat matches with what we are seeing. Basically he said it was their understanding that they had been informed that the shipment had a good number of FOTK kits, the Kylo Ren costumes and some other odds and ends. However once it arrived a couple weeks ago there were only a few FOTK kits, probably why we are hearing the 40-50 number being thrown around, the Rey costumes (not Klyo) and some of the Star Trek items. It also sounds like the FOTK kits will be trickling in rather slowly. I told him that I was at the end of the pre-order right before it closed and he told me I was more than likely looking at August. WOW! August? That is a long way from "Completion by Celebration". You would think at this point they would have an Anovos employee in China actually verifying what is and isn't being shipped if the manufacturers are that inconsistent but I have no Idea how the overseas manufacturing works.
  6. The reason is that a lot of people here recommended them when I was looking. So I really don't want to trash brand new ones.
  7. It is mainly the stitching that is on all seams. I'll try to get a picture.
  8. I am not saying that the CRL should change per a manufacturer, I am saying that maybe basic shouldn't be so restrictive. That's all. THere are lots of EIB and Centurions too but that doesn't mean everyone has to be. And the CRL for Basic on the OT TK isn't screen accurate in all aspects either. They are based on screen references. I think you are missing my point of at the Basic level
  9. So after a few years trooping with the Anovos undersuit and finding out the dye bleeds the hard way I have switched to the suggested Eastbay ones. The fit is great and the top is fine but the pants have grey seams and lettering. I tried to cover it with Sharpie but after the first wash the seams were back to grey. What do you suggest to permanently hide the grey seams? Thanks.
  10. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand the CRL and no seams because the movies didn't have seams but even on the OTTK's Basic level there is a lot of gray area that is allowed that was not screen accurate. I am just saying that maybe seams could be allowed at Basic level since the general public will not notice and Basic is meant to be the minimum to get you in. Just like you can have overlap, butt and coverstrips on the Basic OTTK. Also Basic OTTK allows seams on the boots when the movie didn't have seams, EIB doesn't allow seams. I have built all my stuff for Centurian level and that is what I personally will be going for but that being said I have seen some really poor armor get Basic approval so I am not sure the Basic FOTK should be so restrictive. Either way there are going to be a lot of these kits flooding the market in the next few months/years and a large majority of them are going to be built by people that can't professionally paint them and completely hide the seams. I would hate for the 501st to be out of their reach. Honestly I would prefer to troop with some new excited members that have a few seams nobody will notice than none at all.
  11. I don't know how the CRL's are approved but will there be any consideration with the actual functionality of the costume? It seems to be a very big issue with the FOTK kits cracking on the shoulders since there are no seams. I know it doesn't look as good but to account for constant cracking and repairs could the Basic CRL allow shoulder seams jus for useability? Obviously for Expert and Centurion no seams should remain. This shouldn't be an issue since on the OT TK basic all kinds of discrepancies are allowed.
  12. Anovos management is full of crap. Remember two years ago when they told us the same BS and how they were going to stop pre-orders and start only selling things in stock? I don’t believe they are going to change anything but I hope they do.
  13. That may be true but these were promised as complete kits years ago during the pre order and all the way up to the non-existent March 19 date. So really there is no good excuse to only ship the plastic pieces. And how many years ago did the Alpha and Beta kits ship? Plenty of time to get all the other stuff ready especially when they made completely new bucks and other delays. All these other parts should have been ready and waiting since they redesigned and delayed the abs parts.
  14. Don't get me wrong, I am super excited that Anovos is shipping some kits, that the actually do have a real product and hope mine will arrive sooner than later but when there are hundreds on order and 3 years later they ship out a very few incomplete kits I can't help but still be more than a little frustrated with them still. I am still cheering for them to come through but talk about coming out with a fizzle and not a bang.
  15. I am honestly not sure if Anovos even know the difference between their lies and the truth anymore. I know for a fact their customer service department isn't given that info.
  16. THe Kylo has been delayed until Summer now. They said it was on the boat with the FOTK and would ship first then when the March 19 date passed they changed their story again to Summer 2019. So that is three times now the Kylo was on the boat over 2 years but it never arrived. Straight up lies at this point. Keep in mind that so far their only has been one confirmed FOTK kit shipped and it was not complete.
  17. Nice to see but the rumor was only 40 went out and I am not sure where that info came from. Hopefully it isn't a wait for another cargo ship to arrive before more start going out. It will really suck since they were so vague saying that the shipments will continue throughout the year. So did we get 40 kits total and now months before more even start going out? It would be so nice if they just spoke the truth for once.
  18. I talked to them on the Kylo and they said it’s pushed back at least another season at minimum and didn’t know why but two weeks ago they said they were on the boat and would go out before the FOTK kits. So all we really know is customer service doesn’t know jack squat.
  19. Well, the 19th came and went without even a whisper from Anovos. What a sh!t!y company.
  20. It's not looking good my peeps. I just inquired about my Kylo costume that was on a ship as of last week along with the FOTK kits and would would probably ship before the FOTK kits as of last week to be told today that they are pushed back to Summer 2019 with no explanation as to why other than that was what customer service was told. Unfortunately something is going on at Anovos and it isn't good and customer service is either not being told or can't say anything. I have been waiting for months on In-stock items too that haven't shipped.
  21. No, they are done with boots and only getting rid of what is in stock.
  22. I just emailed TK Boots too and this was their response.... " I'm very sorry, but it looks as though we're shutting down TK Boots. We're still building armor, but even that may die-out soon. There are simply too many low quality builder flooding the 501st."
  23. Yes, many of us ordered the Anovos kits in 2016 and now here we are with nothing to show for it but less money in our account. They are the worst and keep pushing the delivery date every time it gets close. But alas we continue to wait with a small glimmer of hope someday might arrive. I’m 6’3” also so I’ll let you know if I ever get my FOTK but until then I am enjoying my Anovos Classic TK.
  24. I just posted asking about the not screen accurate shoulder seam. We’ll see if it gets approved but I doubt it.
  25. I have been using the chat quite a bit lately and it sounds like the customer service department is very limited and they don’t get much information at all. As we know Anovos in general has a horrible communication problem with customers and apparently within too. The CSR’s always say they are asking for the information and can only give what the production department is giving to them. In my opinion it’s the production department and their lack of communication with everyone that is driving Anovos down. It sure would be nice if upper management would address customers and fans at a Con or something. I wonder if a small group of customers went to an Anovos booth at an event with posters listing our first hand experiences with Anovos, wait times and lack of communication. Something civil and factual like “Hello I am an Anovos customer and am still waiting on my order/refund for 2 years now and still no hard shipping dates”. Maybe that would get their attention.
