  1. Keep in mind this is a TV series on their new paid site for Disney streaming. So the budget is going to be less than a featured film and they will have to do what they can to keep the budget reasonable. If I had to guess I am sure they are going to use what costumes are available to them and given that Rogue was not that long ago and there are TK’s and Death Troopers they probably shared costume departments. I am sure with all the future plans for the franchise the Mouse is to smart to trash costumes after every film. I am sure there will be some fun surprises but those in the know are under NDA contracts as typical. Once it airs I am sure the boards will be blowing up. But yes, Favreu and Filoni are going to do an awesome job and I am sure they know how much the 501st puts the fan in fanatic.
  2. It probably won’t matter, they will just say they haven’t heard anything from the production department. I seriously think it might be two different companies because that’s the answer the customer service gives every time.
  3. Well you know how they feel about their customers when they can’t even tell us why they are delayed again and I’m not just talking about the FOTK kits. I also have s Kylo on order from them and there was no explanation or anything even a word as to why it was bumped from fall to winter. What a bunch of an impolite person hats.
  4. It’s no secret that they are way behind and making excuses. That being said I wouldn’t expect to start shipping until February at the easiest, shipping into March if their estimates have any shred of truth. On the Kylo REN they have been saying it’s done and heading to the fulfillment center for almost a year now and they just changed the estimate from Fall to winter so they are just spinning lyes now.
  5. Nothing has changed. They gave these dates months ago people. Complete shipments before Celebration in April was their exact words. They did update their shipping estimates by putting them directly on the product pages towards the bottom.
  6. I use the motorcycle helmet bags from amazon.
  7. I can't say on their Classic TK boots but on the FOTK and Kylo boots I ordered from them they ran a little big. I wear a 12 in everything and their 12 is a little sloppy so I am going to add sole pads and thick socks.
  8. I have the Icomm and the Aker speaker and mic. If I were to do it again I would get the Icomm only for the static burst but everything else from@Ukswrath. The Aker takes up a lot of space and the included mic is uncomfortable and a pain to get positioned correctly.
  9. Sounds about like me, 6’3” at 198 lbs. I fit in the standard Anovos kit with no shims, just adjusting the gaps and fit for me.
  10. Nope. Still no word on my Kylo since September 4, 2018.
  11. I would agree that "suggested" on the elbow gap would be fine but should not be a sticking point. As I said earlier I am 6'3" with long arms and legs so for me to have no elbow gap looks super funny at my wrists with almost all of the glove cuff sticking out and freakishly long wrists. I can get some pictures this weekend if that helps. There needs to be some wiggle room for different body types and not just a hard rule saying no gap. To give you some idea, I have the Anovos Classic TK kit and with no mods or shims I have no gap in the kidney, back or butt or any other parts but to get it to fit me I have a larger gap at the elbow and knees. Like I said long legs and arms should not bar me from Centurion.
  12. There is no recourse here because all of these are made without disney/Lucas approval with the exception of Anovos. Since they are all technically illegal you can't legally protect it.
  13. Looking good trooper! I would suggest dropping your biceps down a little too as there is a lot up in the shoulder bells and they should be closer to the elbow to close the bicep/forearm elbow gap.
  14. I think I see what you are saying now. Without derailing this thread further I guess my only suggestion would be to make sure we are not taking this so far to the smallest little detail that it becomes unreasonable. Centurion should be what we all strive for but if it becomes so detailed and narrow I think most people might not even bother and that would hurt all of us as a legion. It would be amazing if the majority were Centurion for the legion.
  15. I guess I don't understand this comment in that why would it be too easy? I thought the goal was for all of us to look the same and movie accurate. If the EI and Centurion percentage is high isn't that a good thing for the legion? Why should it be a super difficult and low number thing? I would argue that because most EI plan to go Centurion and you are required to go EI before Centurion these higher percentages are not unexpected.
  16. Don't get me wrong, I fully understand that this discussion is for the upper two levels and specifically Centurion which is totally optional. What I am saying is let's not get so involved in the tiniest little detail that it becomes out of reach for a reasonable person to modify their kit to achieve. As the Centurion requirements are now they are very good in my opinion and not that difficult to follow. When we get into the ears being a certain degree of tilt and the milimeters the brow should be visible I feel that is going a little too far. In the end it is up to the officers approving these details and I doubt they are going to be taking a scale and calipers to the pictures to see if the ears and brow are within the last degree or millimeter to be approved. Simply saying a visible space should be seen between the brow and eyes should be enough and not have to get into the 5mm-10mm specific measurements. There is a big difference in this and having to paint a snap white or using coverstrips. We don't want to get to the point where Centurion requires every gap to be closed or every coverstrip to be exactly 20mm wide. I hope this does not come off like I am going after the ones that suggested the brow and ear revisions. I know we are not the only ones that have issues with the CRL's and it is an evolving thing. There are some other costumes that even basic is very difficult and do not even follow canon but a few people have held to the CRL as "their" creation and law.
  17. Thanks sharkbait, that's the point I was trying to make. Trust me, I know what you are saying about the general public first hand. My wife is a Shadowtrooper as you can see in my avatar and every troop she is either called a Tie pilot or Darth Vader.
  18. I have to say that I think the proposed changes are going a little too far in my opinion. I built my Anovos kit to Centurion spec using all the correct materials, snaps, screws, paints and closing every gap the best I could using the awesome guide from Tony. I just got my silicone handguards from Justjoseph and after reading this feel like all the work was for not and a little frustrated. I will say that I am a perfectionist and love the little details and can't help but pick other's armor apart in my head on troops or just make a simple suggestion that might help them look better but we are arguing about the minutiae here with millimeters and degrees. As said before this is not an exact replica group of the screen used armor but the Centurion should be as close to ideal as reasonable using all the correct snaps, paint colors but should still be attainable to all troopers. The reality is that the screen used armor was abused, damaged and not everyone was exactly the same even though some like to believe it was. On the flip side, what happens if for some odd reason I built my armor to the exact spec, gaps and clearances of a screen used armor but it didn't have the exact brow gap or elbow gap as the proposed Centurion changes? How would that not qualify for Centurion, baring obvious things like gaffers tape and open shins? I am still going for Centurion but I am 6'3" tall and 198 lbs so no, I can't possibly get every gap perfect and am not going to buy and mix an match every brand of armor to get every little gap perfect due to cost and none of the colors will match and look even worse. Trust me I have tried, if I close the gap completely on the elbow as suggested then my wrists look like they are about 4" out of the forearms and that looks way worse than a gap at the elbow. The same goes for the shins, if I don't have a larger gap at the knee then my boots are out of the bottoms and again just looks worse. I know the goal is perfection but don't use the idea the John Q public is going to know the difference at all. They don't even see the difference between Stunt, Hero, ROTJ or ESB. I guess my actual point in my rambling is that let's not take this too far that Centurion isn't reasonably attainable.
  19. Merry Christmas to you all as well. The FOTK was no surprise but none of their other items that were set to ship by the 21st went out either and no communication as typical Anovos.
  20. You all realize they were not shipping the FOTK on the 21st correct? They posted over a month ago it wouldn’t start shipping until spring wit a completion before Celebration in April.
  21. What are you painting? The OT TK Anovos kit isn't painted, just polished plastic.
  22. Well we aren’t the only ones frustrated. I was just a Disneyland Launch Bay yesterday and was talking with one of the supervisors and they brought up a Anovos. They said that when they were selling the Anovos helmets and costumes they got so many angry customers from late or no delivery they pulled the plug. So sounds like the Mouse isn’t too happy with them either.
  23. Agreed, I can't believe how a Anovos can say we are ontrack to ship Spring 2018, then the Kylo is ontrack to ship Summer 2018, then ontrack to ship Fall 2018 and now still no word. Who the heck is manning the wheel there?
  24. I think they are too busy shipping out all of the Kylo sets at the moment since the shipping window closes on the 22nd. I haven't heard anything on that or any updates so I am assuming they are shipping them as we speak. They wouldn't miss their shipping window without notifying us right?
  25. I have Justjoseph’s hand guards and the nomex gloves he recommended and can’t be happier. For canon events I have the rubber ones but the nomex are more comfortable at any temperature.
