  1. I will be at the launch bay on the 12th if nobody can get there before then.
  2. Haters are always going to hate. With that being said unfortunately we are going to be forced to just wait and see. I admit that I loved star wars as a kid but could care less as an adult, that is until my 5 year old son fell i love with it. We went to Celebration and he was in heaven then we saw the Anovos booth and for $350 with free shipping my wife and i were in, after we saw the Rubies crap kits for $1,000. After that I learned about the 501st as when we preordered all we wanted them for was Halloween 2016. If not for this cheap kit I would have never thought twice of found the 501st or all the good it does so you can thank Anovos for another family interested in the 501st. I have also learned about the details here and builds like the awesome detail Vern has done with the blasters and already ordered two of the Doopy kits. I think we all need to calm down and see what ships. What I am the most excited about is some of the most respected builders like Vern and others that are willing to take the time and show all of us how these can be made in a step by step way to comply with all levels of certification and increase the 501st family and community. Since we placed our order my son can't stop talking about how he gets to boss his parents "storm troopers" around on Halloween and he already has his Darth Vader costume two sizes too big for next year. That is what this is all about.
  3. In the picture you posted in post #11 in the lower right corner is says 5/04 to me it seems that this would indicate this particular tube was manufactured in May 2004. I could be entirely wrong too.
  4. Must be a European thing. Here in the states we can buy it at any local hardware store.
  5. I agree, I have been trying to get one since last week. My guess is not a lot are buying then reading this.
  6. I say we just start our own group and troop together then nobody will know.
  7. UHCoog, looks like I am in the same boat. I ordered the Anovos kit too and am 6'3" and 190lbs. I am sure we can make it work and for the price of the kit it should be worth the little extra work. I would thing it would be more of an issue if you had more girth than height.
  8. Any more discount codes? Please pm me. The shadow trooper is calling me.
  9. Ok, I am weak. They already sucked me in with the original TK so if someone would share their 10% off I am getting the shadow trooper too and will pay my 10% off forward. Thanks in advance.
  10. I have always liked Star Wars but it was never much more than that. Then I went to Celebration with my 5 year old son and he is hooked on Star Wars like nobody's business so I started looking into trooper costumes for Halloween and all that is out there is crap. For $100 you get a junk foam jumpsuit and half helmet or $1,000 for the Rubies crap. I kept thinking about the Anovos booth and how nice their stuff looked so I ordered one and figured if it is decent quality $350 is not bad at all for a Halloween costume that can last many years and make my son happy. So yes, the low price brought me in. Now the more I think about it the charity aspect is awesome add we already have a room dedicated to my sister at the Ronald McDonald House so I will now be going for 501st approval and trooping to help out. Then my wife didn't want to be left out so she just ordered one last night. I might be wrong but it sounds like some of the long time veterans might be looking at the Anovos $350 suits as cheapening the the TK to be "commercial" but I think that as long as it is good quality it will bring some new people into the group that have a lot to offer and were not able to before or even considered it before this low price offering. Also keep in mind that this is the introductory price and it is just going to get more expensive and be priced up with some of the other kits after today.
  11. They also provided this. ----------
  12. Push the EASY button! I just found almost all of their products on Amazon. Love the Inter-web.
  13. As far as pricing they are the same as all the other brands. Availability might be the other issue as they do not sell direct to the public but I will look into our options.
  14. I just received this response from them on some questions. IC-Gel works very good for this. It is used by some as a substitute for Bondo for autobody repair. For smaller areas, Maxi-Cure will also work. Charlee Thank you so much. One final thing is there something you would use for blending pieces together for hiding seams? Most of the guys use bondo as an example to make a glued on handle look like it is part of the barrel. Possibly IC-GEL? I just hate bondo and it can crack when flexed. Brian, Both Maxi-Cure and Insta-Cure+ will work for these applications. I prefer Maxi, but that's personal choice. Using Insta-Set to cure the CA that oozes out is also a good idea. Charlee Smith BSI I have used your CA's for years and love them but needed some help selecting for a new project... First I will be building Star Wars storm trooper costumes for my family and need to bond white ABS plastic to white ABS plastic. Next will be a prop blaster that will be bonding resin replica pieces to PVC pipe. Thank you.
  15. I admit that I am new to this and learning and planning my build but thought I could help some of you here. I have built models and R/C planes and cars for years and although I have no affiliation with them I can't recommend Bob Smith Industries enough for their adhesives. They are a local to me small company that are Big R/C enthusiasts and make the batches themselves in-house here in California. I see here that most of the builders use ZAP products but take a look at the BSI website http://www.bsi-inc.com/hobby/hobby.html. I think some of the IC-CURE and IC-GEL might be great for some of the builders looking for gap filling instead of Bondo. Also their GOLD line will not fog up clear plastics like regular CA does on the eye lenses. I hope this helps someone.
  16. I am sure you can get it at Home Depot. I buy it there in 1 gal cans and even in California can get it. Now good paint and other solvents we are out of luck. Thanks California. Not!
