  1. thanks thayne, you're the reason I'm here!~
  2. perhaps a member of the legion should step in, and correct the situation from the 'command level'
  3. carlos explains well why I purchased blemish TK boots at 30$ shipped it was a steal, they didn't have size 12 US from any jodphur company and the accuracy is key.. 60 $ total with dye and polish
  4. I have always received parts from DD's in a timely manner... UK parcels are usually 2-3 weeks in transit.
  5. I just ordered and received a blemish version of the TK boot, and plan on having them professionally dyed black for my TX. constant contact offered great service. this is my 3rd pair of boots, and I must say they're the best!
  6. lookin pretty sweet. mind if I share some thoughts? trim out the eye tops more, across the forehead. trim out the bottom of the ear caps near the neck trim, just until you can't see the lip. and I don't see any ear black edge trim/ rank bars/ switch trim. you did a good job of capturing the stunt look... should look great with neck trim, and those little finishing touches? yes?
  7. just an awesome paint finish on those! ah... the original parkerized metal bumps... sweetness! rubber T Tracks? nah... it's been confirmed that they are indeed hard plastic drawer runners.
  8. I put on the table these ideas: the mentors concept. (a section/map where people can sign up to help other troopers. and where troopers can sign up to be helped.) a mission statement crawl for the intro. the FISD logo boldly on the front page. EIB for Stunt and hero ANH. a better way for the EIB page to display the individual trooper when clicked (right now it sometimes has broken links, no card graphics on some troopers, and when it's clicked it does not always appear in front of the area where you've clicked- making it hard to navigate. a charity section. ( a section for FISD charities and tools to spread the word about official FISD charity works. including links, widgets and donation buttons ) my leatherwork added to the reception center?
  9. how are you going to have the remote fit into a blaster? it looks pretty big.
  10. well, all of these questions will be handled by several mentors on this site... expect some great answers to come. if you'd like a guide, I have the ATA kit. and I can help out in any questions you may have.
  11. having both a mic for the outside world, and a pa for the trooper's voice? is that what you originally were thinking about?
  12. I make the complete blaster. I have all the parts. doopy do's makes the blaster components and steve makes the greeblies. I have them all in stock, and I can build a finished blaster in about a week. I have all the parts needed to finish a blaster in hand.
  13. horizontal undersuit on the spec ops is kinda cool!
  14. i say cut more. cut it down to screen used size!
  15. I have a blaster ready to make, with all those parts and the doopy do's kit. PM me if you want to make arrangements for me to make it up. check out my signature for my blaster builds.
  16. panda has done some really excellent work, and the AM kit is like getting a large sized excellent start at modeling your own variation on the basic shape of a suit of armor. I just think that it's a lot better if a person can look more closely at the size of a stormtrooper and you can clearly see that there are some tall and thin troopers in the film. if you can afford the more accurate armor from the start, it makes it easier in the long run. if you're looking to do a lot of extra detail work that can be part of your decision as well. I mean, if you've seen the TM armor that's been coming out recently then you'll probably want to go all the way! it's worth it... AM armor is fine if you have a large set of arms and shoulders, and more of a barrel shaped torso.
  17. I think AM armor is too large for you, 175 lbs is very thin. you should be able to fit into a 'screen accurate' version of armor. look at the following makers ATA, AP, TM, and then finally at AM. AM armor is for people 6' + tall, and 210-240 lbs. your size around your torso is the only element you'd want to consider, in making armor at your height. and if you're 175 lbs then you're thin enough to wear better armor. AM is for really large people, not just tall people. you'd probably have to cut off INCHES of plastic all around to get it to look right. better to get a more accurate suit to begin with, than to buy cheap and then have to mod, and cut ton's off. my 2 cents!
  18. while garters work fine for some people, it's also a good idea to use 2 snaps and velcro in a combination. I've made snap tabs using leather, and they work like a charm! using leather allows you to make a larger footprint for the snap tab and it curves with the armor well. I think that garters make the thighs shift in vertical position when the garter slides up or down your torso, which adds up to just one more problem. if you have a tight belt, and a well harnessed design for your AB plate setup then attaching the thigh straps to the AB plate with snaps and velcro usually does the trick. the glue that you use for the elastic usually should have something that the elastic can flex around. snaps work well because they travel through the elastic and keep it in place much better. fabric snap tabs, and you should be good to go.
  19. looks like messaging is down...
  20. one of my brothers in black! nice job! you're ahead of me by boots and a belt!
  21. thanks mason!~ complex thinking goes into computer programming! great job!
  22. you have provided 3 cannon sources for approval. DONE DEAL. so how does one go about correcting such an error in judgement on the part of a GML?
