I'd like to also note this character is based off TFA armour and there fore you are making and assumption there are no seams on the abdomen. The shoulders /back you would never see so that one make sense to me, but you have some convincing to do on the mid section I would wager Edited to add an additional thought as I ponder this costume, You mention the figures with square ends, which I get, but you need to choose a path not mix and match. Real world finger tips are round so if you go that real world route, then you need to continue with continuity and assemble the armour as seen on screen like all other game related characters have materialized as CRL's, or choose a game version and build it like the pictures. For the record, square ended gloves wouldn't look great in my opinion lol.

Firstly, you need to be able to take a joke Justin. You have also edited this post numerous times adding in and changing details, which doesn't bring the topic back up to the top so discussions could be continued easily. Personally I am glad you chose to make the edit you made just now, yes Isaw it and it remains in the edit logs of this thread. Secondly the CRL needed a costume builder, which at the time we did not have. Now it seems we do, and so a CRL can be created. It also seems you have more references now also, so the task of making the CRL requires no guess work on details we can't see. I think initially all we saw was the trailer for the game as it hadn't been released, cant say I have time to actually play these games sadly so many are reliant on what we have here. Creating the text for the CRL is the easy part, having all the images and doing the photo shop work to cut from backgrounds etc is where the time is taken up, so once you are ready with your photos, they don't need to be edited, we can certainly do that for you, then we can get serious on making this a reality and another costume for our catalogue and members.

Excellent Logan, your hard work has paid off. Now what we need are the photos of all the parts separate as per how the R1 TK CRL looks. Us it as your guide when taking the photos , we do this for consistency across our CRLs. Check it out and if you can supply me the same similar set of images, i can get to work removing the backgrounds and building the complete CRL, of which you will be the CRL model. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM so we can discuss. Exciting times are now very close.

Stormtroopers Are No Longer Largest Approved Legion Member Costume
Sly11 replied to gmrhodes13's topic in Announcements
I do our roster maintenance a couple of times a year. Feedback from legion is several detachments do not do their maintenance remove retired members and adjusting their access. I wonder when the JRS roster was actually maintained last?? They could be living a false dream if it hasnt been touched in a few years. Its a monumental task to for the record. I spend at least 5 hours each time I update ours, not fun, so I understand when dets don't do it. -
Only requirement is no logos can be seen and the stitching is black. I purchased off ebay, but there is local compression gear available as per the above post.

Stormtroopers Are No Longer Largest Approved Legion Member Costume
Sly11 replied to gmrhodes13's topic in Announcements
I fired shots back earlier today, but lets remember, this is all in good fun, and everyone commenting, please be respectful on social meadia etc. They can have a joke about being able to sit, we will soon have a CRL that also easily allows that in the Imperial Commando. All our costumes are also In universe, none are made up like the Tie reserve so let them have their fun and moment of artificial glory that was a joke by the way. What can we do to increase numbers other than creating something that doesn't exist. Easy, lets focus on building our new Imperial Commando CRL to assist in getting members more easily on their journey to approval. usually we wait for a builder, but nothing is stopping us from writing the descriptive side of this CRL and gathering everything we have and know, to putting those pieces together. If we get that down and publish the skeleton on the forums in the new area, we are guiding our members to an easier build. We are also 3 photos away from Pyre going to the LMO's and bang that's another approval and CRL to inspire others. Lets get it done and keep having fun. Don't take this rivalry be a set back, lets use it to build momentum and lets keep pushing The 1500. This months catch cry to start with the Newsletter is The 1500 Strength in numbers! Kind of ironic actually but lets go for it. We got this FISD we got this. -
Welcome back Gwen, we have plenty of horses so take your pick. This community is here to help you in every way we can and it would be great to see you come full circle with your armour or a new set. Also make sure to hook up with your local garrison for some close to home support as well. If you don't know who your local garrison is, let us know what area or region you are in and we can get you those contact details. Welcome to FISD!

Looks like 850 armor works to me Glen.

Its still above the top of the eyes so it should be ok. No issue for basic approval, check in with our Deployment offices if you wish to go for Centurion level approval. @Chemi @TKSpartan Keep up the solid work Tim.

Should I stick with Elastic loops or go to Snaps?
Sly11 replied to Zinfer's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
In time brackets can crack out of your armour due to the small amount of material they have to go through. Snap plates and snaps with elastic are very durable, easy to replace and i always carry a few spares with me on troops. Double snaps is the way to go in case a single snap fails, at least you still have the other to hold things together and keep you in the game. I've successfully used snaps and elastic now for 9 years with only one failure which I was able to fix on troop in a matter of minutes. -
With many of the FO TK kits you need to glue and paint as well as fill in seams etc. ABS paste is certainly a way to reduce or avoid in some cases, the need to use other bonding and filling agents which require painting over. Generally you need to keep all your scrap cut offs from trimming your armour, and use some acetone to melt down the ABS pieces to create ABS paste which is either the same colour as your armour or only a touch off it. Here is a Link to the thread on ABS paste, have a look and experiment with some scraps to see how it can work. Of course it will require sanding after applied to give the smooth finish, then some polishing to buff it up to a good shine.

The ears are looking great, what a great fit. The only thing to me is they are still a bit thick and could be trimmed down some more but follow those trim lines as that is going to be a very nice fit to the helmet. Probably only 2 - 3 mm more off at most, that way they sit around the RS original and the Lucas archive helmet ear thickness.

TK-21103 Requesting ANH (Stunt) EIB Status [RWA] (1062)
Sly11 replied to Sean PK's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Congratulations on your Expert Infantry approval Sean, great work sir. -
I think most of what I have to say has already bee posted above. There can be bad eggs in any group that don't necessarily portray the ideal roll model for a club, and we are not free or exempt from that. There are more good eggs in the 501st carton than bad that is for sure, but there are many many elements and opinions that can occur to have some one say you are all bad because of x or y or z. Something we do here on FISD is take pride in making sure our forum community is supported, we have a friendly environment and give plenty of reason for people to come visit us here and see what we do and how we assist in making dreams come true and changing peoples lives. We don't tolerate bulling, we don't allow politics as a general topic or anything really that can divide our members, we focus on uniting our massive family in a positive way and this is part of the reason why we have the most active forums in the legion. It's not just what people experience out on the street, it is what they experience on all avenues, like our social media platforms etc, and that is why we also don't tolerate the above mention things anywhere. We are the same where ever you visit FISD and can only hope those who are our members do the same when out on a troop or meeting the public face to face.

TK 26476 reporting for duty
Sly11 replied to TK 26476 - Marz Elson's topic in Newly Approved Members - Sound Off!
Congratulations Marcel, One of us! one of us!! -
To also further clarify the EIB and Centurion, you assemble your armour to Centurion level from the outset if you intend to apply for centurion. You simply need to apply for EI first, so the deployment team can assist you in making any adjustments or fine tuning before you then apply for centurion. The aim of this is indeed to get you looking as good as you possibly can for that final approval to Centurion. Hope that makes sense for you, but we are all here for you every step of the way.

The spacing looks good as long as you have sufficient flexibility, well, as good as you can in TK armour lol. Definitely follow what Glen suggested above, things start to move a little once you are fully kitted up, and you will soon know what needs repositioning and adjustment.

Exploded views are very cool, helmets looks fantastic.

Everything is looking good so far, keep up the great work.

Pyro's Imperial Armored Commando WIP
Sly11 replied to Pyro's topic in Imperial Commando Build Threads
based on a screen cap, it certainly looks like a fabric belt Jarred. Also from the front they seem to sit quite twisted and crooked at times which also backs up a softer material for the belt.
