I would like to thank all the staff involved in assisting in getting this CRL to completion in a timely manner. Also many thanks to the member who was adamant this should be the newest CRL for FISD. The LMO's agree, he was onto something. This is the perfect costume for my fellow Aussies as well. I'm sure we have loads of members who can not wait for summer to start building this new costume and joining our ranks. Awesome work team and to the the Orange County Squad, who share a very similar climate to me. This is a personal favorite.

I haven't seen one in our archives, most of the information Glen went through when we basically lost the old EI gallery and he spent a very long time creating the new one we use today. Old was lost due to forum upgrades. As you know Glen is pretty darn thorough when he does something, and he found discrepancies building the new which we adjusted appropriately. Just make sure when taking the photos for CRL images that the coloured backdrops don't change the colour of the pieces visa reflection. need to try and keep them looking as gold as possible so the dark background might be better for that. Experiment perhaps and post some comparison shots of say the cod with the blue and the red for the images we intend to use for the CRL. This is looking beautiful Dino, beautiful!!

While Novus is great and specially designed for plastics, general car polishes work too. I can't see why headlight polish would be any different considering modern vehicle lights are all plastic these days. Like any compound I would always test it in an inconspicuous area first like inside your chest plate to see how well it shines it up.

I would agree on FROGTAPE, I use it myself. It has some glue tech or Paint Block as their patent states, that seals the edge so you don't get bleeds.

Not dead, we have a member who has built one. I spoke briefly with them recently and am waiting for photos to be able to create the CRL.

On to the ears! For some, this is a stressful stage of an OT helemt build as you want to find a good fit. Over trimming is probably the biggest cause for concern, so i take the mind set of A little is a lot when shaping the ears to a good fit. Again with the trusty pencil, mark out a trim line that sits away from the mold lines. I use the tin sheers to take this excess off as the ABS is 2 mm thick. These make it easy going to remove what isn't needed. Note they are trimmed still away from those pencil lines. Lexan scissors with a curved blade are ideal for cutting around the shape of TK ears, they are slower going, but simple to carefully trim right up to the pencil marks I've now marked the ears with pencil lines following just below the mold /actual ear shape. Again, leave room to refine these as you begin to test fit, mark and readjust your trimming to get those ears fitting nicely to the sides of the helmet. This is where the process slows down. I shall take my time removing material and going through that test fit stage i mentioned before. More to come soon.
