My condolences go out to Dan's family, he was a wonderful person and friend, an absolute credit to the Star Wars family, this detachment and his home garrison the UKG. As an FYI, yes Li-Ion batteries if left for a long time will get to a point where they no longer hold enough charge to operate. The same goes for rechargeable version. Li-Ion batteries actually like to be punished to give their best life span and charge capability. Charging them frequently gives the best long term result for life span. Unfortunately you don't have that luxury with the non rechargeable kind. There is no guarantee how old the battery is in your i-comm. it may already be years old when supplied to the maker of the i-comm device, so there is a very likely possibility it is already depleted as unfortunate as that may sound. Of course you may also have a faulty i-comm device, this can't be discounted, but the battery is always the first port of call. The i-comm battery does not run your system, the power of your AKER amp is the main power source. The battery within the i-comm unit maintains a consistent current and allows to functions to operate and holds the memory of your clicks and chirps. 1. are you using the mic that came with your AKER amp? If not, that could also be part of your issue. Microphones also play a lesser part in the potential problems with i-comm units. 2. Are you using an AKER amp? I believe these were originally recommended by the maker of the i-comm system. 3. moisture and the 3.5mm connectors can also play a role in the malfunctioning of i-comm units, so there is a lot to consider. Generally I have found through experience of repairing i-comms for my garrison mates, there are numerous reasons why they fail. Be mindful if using my work around that they are very fussy with the voltage from the power source so only use a 3.6 to 3.7 volt battery if you are going to attempt my mod. I found with the rechargeable options, only purchase the batteries that have the overcharge protection chip in them and only use a digital charger that also monitors charge rates. Other option is as has been mentioned, buy another battery same as is standard and try your luck. Ultimately, I am sorry you are facing these issues with a new unit, have you contacted the maker to discuss, as I am sure they will also have several suggestions you could try. Apologies for the wall of text but I would rather offer you as much info as I have, to assist you on finding a potential remedy so you can enjoy your trooping to its upmost

Ok l have the Wiki Document and indeed the descriptions have been changed. The wording used at the time is below as an example but you can see how the colour is described. A brow of solid gold material spans from the traps over the lenses. Shoulder Pauldron A grey ornament made of rigid plastic or plastic-like material, worn over the right shoulder Chest Plate The chest plate is mirror reflective with gold pigment and unweathered. Back/Yoke The backplate/Yoke is mirror reflective with gold pigment and unweathered. etc etc. Literally only need to add in all the images and this is ready for submission to the LOM team. Of course i will add it all here first so we get more eyes across it and check for errors etc. Make sure you add the correct helmet image (without the black strip above the brow) please Dino.

Totally understand the difficulty, and it was the reason why they covered C3PO in wax when they were shooting ANH. High reflective surfaces look awesome in the flesh but are the nightmare to photograph. We can clean them up to a degree in post so you are not seen in the image, I am also happy to have a comment line in the CRL that clearly states due to the nature of the High reflective surface some post image work was required to remove the reflection of the photographer. I think that will allow everyone to understand the issues, just like any of those with a metalised 3PO costume do. No one will be concerned with approval photos as it is the nature of the beast, but we don't particularly want people laughing at the CRL images because you are in every one lol. Transparency is the key with things like this under consideration.

Almost there kyle, and looking good. maybe adjust the back to kidney strap the lock the side down where you have a gap appearing, also when taking photos for a final submission specially no doubt your pending EI and Centurion apps, just make sure your thermal det is sitting level, aside from that you are looking really good.

The reflections in the cod are really bad, and it may be worth just trying again with the darker background so the light reflects a little differently. The images don"t need to be so close up if they are a reasonable resolution we can work with that, i only need small files to upload into the Wiki document so we are'nt looking for award winning images for the CRL. I appreciate the work to have them cut out but we also have a couple of staff available to help me with also removing images from the background to speed up the process for you. Importantly use the TFA TK CRL as your guide to the way we set out the pieces for photos, this way our CRL's have a level of consistency to them, or sense of familiarity.

I'm pretty sure I already loaded all of this into a Wiki origin document a year ago. I used the TFA First Order TK and Phasma platform, just need to find the link to it and have some time to edit anything that might have changed it will be done.
