  1. Well. a little while ago Daetrin (Paul), our esteemed founder and all round bloody nice guy , ask me the question “How the heck aren't you Elite yet Bill?” and at the time I promised him that I would try to get some photos together and submit them as soon as I can. So here goes But first, I'd like to thank a few people for their enthusiasm, encouragement, and all round bloody ‘niceness’ So , in no particular order;- TK-4510(Mike), HPDblues (Tony), Smitty(Chris), Stomper(Tony). Riveting(Steve),Ghost(Scott), TD-252(Rolf), Dutchy & Ray, Daetrin (Paul), SuperTrooper(Terrell), TK1491(Scott), EVO3 (Andy),….and so many more But my biggest ‘Thank you’ as to go to Paul – T M , because if it wasn’t for this extremely talented and wonderfully kind man I probably wouldn’t have rediscovered my passion for one of the most stylish icons of 20th century . Please excuse the quality of some of the photos, and also the fact that my belt holding the garters for my thighs just so happen snap after the first test pictures was taken. Hopefully this won’t effect my submission too much. Body shots Front Right Left Back Split
  2. ".....OK Boss, then you can call me Eye-Gorrr....."
  3. Paul I've got a very similar thing that I use, a leather neck wallet. You can get every thing you want in there and it just sits under the chest You can pick them up on the big auction site for $12-$15 and they're well worth the money -------
  4. John No wonder you always smelled bloody nice!!
  5. Yerrp, never leave home without one I love 'em
  6. No body MOVE!!, I'm just going to get the pop-corn!!!
  7. sanitise a TE2!!!!..... I......I.....I just can't watch
  8. Andy I've posted this a couple of times so I apologise to folks who've seen it before If you want to go down the screen accurate route then Jodphur / Chelsea boots are the way to go. The original used in the films were black, painted white , make unknown.(although someone, who will remain nameless, [no not me ], as managed to track down a pair made by the same manufacturer after years of meticulous investigation) Here's a picture of a pair of original screen used ones ----- The closest thing available to the original syle are Loake's 290-B's ------- A good budget alternative to Loake's are these ------ If you just want the 'look' then there are plenty of others out there, just do a search on 'Jodphurs / Chelsea boots' and you'll find loads ranging from $20 up to $300-$400 One thing to bare in mind is the height around the ankle. The lower they are the more chance of them popping out of your armour when you move As for dyeing them, if you take your time they can turn out great. You can never completely change the colour from black leather to white. I've spoken to a few upholsterers who restore top end cars like Rolls Royce's and they said its impossible because the colour will eventually bleed through, BUT!, you can keep it looking white with a little maintenance every now and then And anyway, take a look at the originals and see how many scuff marks you can see ------ Hope this helps mate
  9. Martin Look no further for armour building tips, all that you need is right here on the FISD. The FX lid is BIG regardless of how tall you are, thats why most folk are going for the MR CE as a cheap and viable alternative. Here's a couple of comparison shots from starwarshelmets.com --------------- Hope this helps mate
  10. Mark You can get screw rivets in loads of places in the UK mate, just do a Google and you'll see tons of sites where you can pick them up in different sizes, widths and lengths The snap method works just as well and I had no problem with getting the snap to go through the canvas belt or the leather holster strap Hope this helps
  11. Zym, errm, I think you should listen to Peter because he is 1000% RIGHT Your Way The Right way
  12. Thomas Brilliant job on that chest plate, its looking darn fine to me Have you put a return edge on it?, if so any chance of some photos because I know that a lot of people are extremely interested in this mod. Fantastic work Sir!, can't wait to see it finished
  13. Zym Heres a list of the Humbrol colours for helmet and armour if that helps Sorry don't know the Testers codes....but I'm gunna make that my next mission...oh yes
  14. Mark Looks like I'll be joining ya ------------ Gino Nice one mate, That says it all
  15. Mark I think there goes your membership to 'Propaganda' Nicely put though ---------------- *EDITED* My apologies, No offence intended to any other forum members for quoting Mark - Billhag
  16. James I had the same problem mate, but it fitted just fine after the hair cut Sorry mate, couldn't resist it , You could try triming off some of the padding from the backs of the pads until it sits right. That should do the trick
  17. Mark Nice choice mate There are some great tutorials on here, so you'll have plenty to read while you're waiting for it to arrive Don't forget to check out Stukatrooper's brillant AP build page because Peter knows his stuff and tells it like is. Here's the link;---------- ...ooow,..and don't forget to post some pictures up when it comes, we'd all love to see 'em
  18. Pete Frigging AWSOME beard mate,....love it Got my fingers crossed for ya fella, and hopfully we'll be trooping together soon Quick question, have you got a strap betwean your butt plate and your cod?, because it looks a little bit odd in the photos
  19. BRILLIANT!!!...I love a good riddle --------
  20. Hi JT Still laughing at that comment, as the originals were black that were painted white You can find Jodhurs / Chelsea boots virtually anywhere. The closest thing that are nearest to the originals and still available are Loake's 290 B's but if you just want the 'look' then you'll find them out there ranging from $20 to $200 As for your lenses, you could go with clear and fit them with 'Mirror film' and that should do the trick. Try over at the 'Special Ops Detachment' and bound to be able to steer you in the right direction ---------------
  21. Kevin Yerrp, mine just rap around the belt with a smidge of glue to stop them sliding about. A nice alternative is to use snaps to attatch the ammo belt and boxes the same as Curtis did on his AP build a while back, and Firebladejedi did on his post for his belts. Here's his link and some pictures. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=854 And thank you for compliment on my armour, but I'm afraid that all credit for that incredible detail should go to its astounding creator who over many years as endeavored in hes unyielding pursuit of the perfect armour.Without sounding flippant, I think that its impossible to look bad in Paul's stuff even if you tried, And may I say, that your creations are also held in the same esteem Sir!.... Smitty, Paul(Daetrin), thanks mateys, I'll try to get some pics together and submit them when I can.
  22. Nathan Nudge up a bit, if they shoot you, they can take me down with ya mate Liz Moore sculpted the helmet and Brian Muir created the armour Mark As Nathen and David said, there's no disputing that AA produced the armour for ANH but our Mr Ainsworth is trying to take the credit for far, far more than he is entitled to. As well as denigrate all those talented people who WERE involved in the costumes conception. Today's ruling by Mr Justice Mann in the High Court of Justice, Chancery Division, affirmed that Lucasfilm is the sole owner of all rights to the iconic costume designs. The court held that Ainsworth infringed Lucasfilm's rights when he reproduced the Stormtrooper helmet replicas and sold them under a false claim that he had created the designs, which were used in 1977's Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Ainsworth was a plastics manufacturer who was hired in 1976 to reproduce designs created by a team of Lucasfilm artists, including costume designer John Mollo, who won an Academy Award for his work on the film. Mr Justice Mann stated that the description of some of Mr Ainsworth's evidence as "inaccurate and misleading". All this as been covered on many, many forums and serveral posts on the FISD. And its definitely worth reading the judges findings regarding the case as it certainly makes an interesting read (if you don't mind wading through the 150 pages ) Here's the link;- ------------- As for the helmets that he produces now, Paul's post says it all (and PLEASE don't even think about disputing Pauls credibility and knowledge on the subject ) Mark, if you like your armour and helmet then that is good enough mate. It'll be a dull old World if we all liked the same things . But please keep an open mind when it comes to the claims of its manufacturer.
  23. Chris That's the eFX LE, which is the same lid as the MR LE, eFX took over from Mater Replicas when they lost their marketing licence for serveral Star Wars products. Here's a link to there site mate eFX Collectibles
