  1. Requesting 501st status please TK1650 http://www.501stlegion.org/members/display...php?userID=9611 Many thanks guys
  2. ......."sorry dear I've got to work late AGAIN,..I know, I know,...but it is a new job and I want to make a good impression,....yes, yes my boss is a slave driver".... oh boy, what fun you could have let loose on that beast
  3. WOW! I just thought I'd throw it out there (with a wee bit of tongue in cheek)to see what yous guys thought but didn't expect that!! Personally, I think that they are way off. It looks like he's gone for a boot that he can sell under the guise of Clone/Stormtrooper or what ever other label he wants to put on them I think Ca Boots have very little to worry about when it comes competition from this guy. The Barnstormers Jodhpur's that Terrell recommended are brilliant for the price and they're a really nice fit. But if you can afford it, it's got to be the Loake 290 every time ---------
  4. Looks like Star Fortress Productions have come up with an alternative to CA Boots Here's the link --------- Be interesting to see if they get 501st approval, if they do then at least it gives people another option
  5. Lou A lot of people use the Nokia car kit speaker. Its roughly the same size as the one that comes with the RomFX but the sound quality is far, far better. And guess what?.....they're stinking CHEAP! ....£1.99 + shipping - Worldwide Heres a link for one on the bay, but there's loads out there --------
  6. Derek Great job mate. Really liked the way that you worked the 'knee pad' sections around the shape of the original padding at the top of the helmet.Nice layout on the sides as well. I'd love to see how you've tucked away the sound and fan system amongst that great padding Well done Sir!
  7. Paul EXACYLY!!! Its the 'Special Editions' all over again!! Why won't they learn that us fans want something we can feel and touch, not some fancy-shermansey-multi-layered-can't-I-draw-good INTERPRETATION. RRRRRHHH, drives me mad!! Give me a REEEEEL C-38 anyday! (or a skillfully cast from the original Stomper Special )
  8. Dave This 'Stomper' characters stuff is pretty darn good mate, shipping's not too bad either... if he likes ya that is But if you get lippie with him?, schhhish!. I've heard that some fella in Boise, Idaho as been waiting 18 months for a set of 10 mm washers just because he ask him if he ever wears nail varnish under those black gloves he wears. Trustworthy? .....errm, if we're talking about chocolate cake on the side, spoon on the table, specific orders not to eat it as you leave the room type of 'trustworthy'?....I'd have to say "not a chance" But all other aspects of this mans reputation are impeccable. Oh yerh, just so you know, sometimes his stuff as a rather strange aroma to it when it arrives. I can assure you that there is absolutely nothing to be concerned about (regardless of the silly stories that you may have heard concerning bottoms and things) this is purely a residual affect of some rogue batches of his 'Super-Secret-Rubberised-Compound' that he uses in his marvellous creations Hope this helps
  9. Chris Mike and TM have done you proud, what a fantastic set of armor can't wait to see the full set up together. Well done Sir!
  10. Luis I might be wrong but, I think there was a link to a clone trooper build in one of the posts on here. I'm sure that I've seen it, it might be one of 'Stukatrooper's tutorials but don't quote me on that. If I find it I'll post the link on here
  11. My God is nothing safe!!! I managed to contact this SCUMBAG and he said,....and I quote "I'm only using them for a student project" Yerrh right sure, as IF we haven't heard that before.....tchh!
  12. WOW!!,...Nice spot Mike Have you got that in Hi-res so we can pick out all the fine detail? Apparently the best shot of it is in a deleated scene of when Luke was fixing R2 Perhaps thay might reinstate it in the up and coming Blu-ray release...fingers crossed hey?
  13. .....psst,....psst!! ....rumour as it, that it's being posted on Tuesday Mike, Fantastic set armor Sir, FISD elite for sure.
  14. Arrr Man!!, I've been trying for years to find this sucker. I thought I had it too, when I heard rumours that a so called 'private collector' was willing to let it go. DAGNABBIT!!, missed out yet again Tony, my hat goes of to you Sir, exceptional find.....you truly are the 'DD' expert
  15. Guys If you haven't already seen it, Andy's started an interest list over on a new post ---------

  19. Mark I was thinking more along the lines of Showaddywaddy Here you go Alan, a nice little explanation from 'Star Wars Helmets' The Tour Suits In the mid 1990's Lucasfilm produced a significant number of Darth Vader and Stormtrooper Costumes for various promotions tours around the world. As Don Bies, the Lucasfilm Archivist explains... There were a total of 18 Darth Vader's made for the Fox marketing campaign of 1995, and I believe 32-36 Stormtroopers made. Fox needed so many for different campaigns around the world, so they were sent off to places such as Australia, the UK, Italy, Spain, France, Mexico...A manual created by me accompanied each set (One Vader and Two troopers), explaining sizes of actors, how to dress, and how to act. Unlike the popular myth, the suits were not made for the Special Editions, although many of the Stormtroopers were used in some of the scenes for extra filming, as the many original suits were in bad shape. The ILM model shop, under the guidance of Charlie Bailey, made the Stormtroopers, and I believe they were created using styrene. The molds were fabricated by pouring plaster into existing parts (ESB or ROJ era suits), and cleaned up here and there--though many parts are not as sharp as their originals. Additionally, some smaller patterns were created new, such as belt and knee details. They also molded prop Mr. X. to go with the characters out of urethane. The Vader's were created by my wife and I under our company banner (at the time) of DNA Productions. The mask was cast in fiberglass, and the helmets and chest control boxes were vacuum-formed black styrene. Urethane details were cast to dress the control box, and stock electrical project boxes were used for the belt details. Grant Imahara of Mythbusters fame provided a digital "breathing" soundbox, as well as blinking electronics. The suits were made of fake leather (pleather?),as the budget would not allow anything higher quality. To the best of our knowledge, the costumes all made their way back to the archives and are occasionally still used, though many fan-built suits today are better, in my opinion. Some details and accessories of the costumes were lost (or stolen), but I think everything was accounted for at one time or another. One Vader and two troopers were destroyed in a car accident in Mexico--nobody was wearing them, as they were in a van in their crates when the vehicle rolled over. That suit was returned to the ranch for inspection and replacement, though it was never recreated No motorways or Rock 'n'Roll bands anywhere

  22. Luis Absolutely fantastic job mate You've totally changed the look and feel of the CE and I can see no reason why this helmet would not get 501st approval. Well done Sir!!
  23. Gary It might not help,...but it would be great for watching films in 3D!!
  24. Matt You might want to check out the booklet that comes with the eFX LE as its got some fantastic line drawings of a stormtrooper helmet. ---------
