TK-8224 requesting ANH elite status!.[46][ap]
Billhag replied to TK-8224's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Lisa Brilliant set up, it looks fantastic The only things that I can see are as follows The only other thing that I would say is your drop boxes, but because of your height I don't think you can do to much about them. Well done matey, it looks the bizzo -
Aaron Marcel had the same thing with his SDS and eventually decided to cut it down Its not an Elite requirement but it does make it look more screen accurate Here's my post to his question I couldn't find the photo of his one that he shortened, but it looks rather spiffin Hope this helps matey Oh and Congratulations Mark for your 1000th, every one a bloody gem mate

how about these boots?
Billhag replied to Daric LaRone's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
They don't look too bad, but as the others have said, you may have problems with your shins riding over the top but they're cheaper than a lot out there ------- If you haven't got a photo hosting account and you want to paste a picture. Right click on the picture, select 'properties' In the Properties window go down to 'Address (URL)' and you'll see something like this which ends with 'jpg' ========== copy this. In your post reply, click on the 'Insert Image' icon (2nd one , next to the smileys) and then paste the --------- in the window. If you've done it correctly you should have these either side off the address I personally think they look good painted, and if they get scuffed up you can just touch up with sneaker whitener or just leave them like the originals -------- If you don't like the elastic to be patchy you don't have to replace them you can lighten them with a diluted bleech soloution prior to dying / painting them. I've done it and it works really well Hope this helps -

clarification - ABS-80 AP helmet story
Billhag replied to Heatshock's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Nate Nice helmet mate It definitely leans more towards the GF look with the bulgy side tubes Heres a quick shot of a GF Hero and when you put it next to a TE2 or AP you really do notice the difference ------------ -
Minimum Number of Stripes for AP Helmet
Billhag replied to mgraeme's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
....in my opinion, 14, 15 and 16 is just plain showing off Anything over 12-13 and it starts to look like the 'kill count' on the side of a P-51 Mustang Keep 'em chunky, keep 'em 12-13's -

new TE2 build - sort of[*TE]
Billhag replied to Heatshock's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Nate Be careful mate, slow down or you'll end up bloody killing yourself If you haven't finished all the dirty work yet, a safer way that works brilliantly is to put the parts in the freezer and you just use a screwdriver to start them off and then they just pop apart. I tried this on some AP thighs and it worked a dream mate. Please, please, please!!,...take it easy,...d'ya hear?!!!! -
Paul I don't know if this was the one you were talking about. Can't remember where I picked this up, had to be here or on the MEPD The things we bloody keep hey?

new TE2 build - sort of[*TE]
Billhag replied to Heatshock's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Nate I'm in the process of putting a sandie together, just taking it nice and slowwwly As mark said, normally you would use 20mm finishing strips for the legs and 15mm for the arms. What tutorial are you following or are you just playing it by ear? Peter's (stukatrooper) AP and T M ones are brilliant mate, he takes you through it step by step, and if you've built armour before you can feel in the gaps for the things that aren't shown. On top of that you'll see some stuff that you didn't even think of before I definitely recommend it mate -
Attaching Hengstler to E-11

No problem matey As for being helpful?, that's what the FISD is all about, sharing ideas, passing on information, helping each other out...sounds cheesy I know, but HEY!, its the bloody truth Ruth!! Right, filler I normally use 3 or 4 different fillers like Easy sand P38, Milliput, Humbrol model filler and car body 'stopper' also known as small scratch or surface filler. For the big stuff, P38 and for the small stuff the Humbrol and or stopper You can pick these two up from Halfords or most Car / Auto shops. Ohh, and I dont know if you have these but its another option for the scope graphics Well you did ask "can anyone help" -

Aaron emmm, I think I need a new crystal ball That's not a DoopyDoos, looks like some other cast from a Sterling. Yerrh I know it may look rough, but it does look like its got some great detail You can certainly make this in to a real Bad Boy with a little bit of work OK, some answers to some enquiries The mag plate came out really well mate. How about fitting a small block on to the front of the mag to match it up to the base plate?.That should even it out For the scope and front I'd use fine easy sand filler on all the imperfections. Build up areas where you want to add detail. Use a scalpel or Dremmel where you want to redefine areas. Here's the link to the 'Scope Tricks' post http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?show...amp;#entry58929 The number decal looks brilliant mate, love it Maybe do one in black as well just like the original. Beware the sign of the beast -

...errrm, let me see....let me seeee, front of the barrel all bunged up around the screws,.....end cap and D-Ring a total mess.....and flakey around the mag housing......errrrm, yes,....YES....I think I see it Is it a DoopyDoos Mark1 by any chance? Aaron These can be cleaned up pretty darn nice with a wee bit of effort, let me know if you need a hand OK And as they say on Blue Peter..."here's one I made earlier".... Please don't forget to post up some photos of it when all done mate, loved to see it -

size question about FX armor
Billhag replied to irishtrooper90's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Lisa, Thats one of the small prices we some times have to pay when wearing screen accurate armour I'm afraid FX is great, one size fits most (with a little bit of playing around), easy assembly, comfy to wear, not screen accurate but can be modded to look pretty darn nice Where as the more screen accurate armour like AP, TE2, T M, GF, assembly can be tricky for the novice, they may require shims and or trimming for some body types, they're not always comfortable to wear, but.......They do look bloody fantastic Its a fine balance, form over function, style over comfort, there's no right or wrong with either its just what you feel right with. Can't wait to see your completed armour, I've been watching your build up and you are doing a fantastic job -
Yerrp, BIG cardboard box makes a brilliant temp spray booth that's exactly what I do. Also I'm lucky I have a loft that's boarded out and as lights fitted, so if I have to do any while its lashing down I just break out all the dust sheet and tape up big polythene sheets as a back drop. Always remember to keep inside areas well ventilated otherwise you'll feel like Jimmy Hendrix after a good night out with the boys
