  1. Nate Be careful mate, slow down or you'll end up bloody killing yourself If you haven't finished all the dirty work yet, a safer way that works brilliantly is to put the parts in the freezer and you just use a screwdriver to start them off and then they just pop apart. I tried this on some AP thighs and it worked a dream mate. Please, please, please!!,...take it easy,...d'ya hear?!!!!
  2. Paul I don't know if this was the one you were talking about. Can't remember where I picked this up, had to be here or on the MEPD The things we bloody keep hey?
  3. Nathan You bloody tease YOU!! We demand loads of pictures and even then I don't think it will be enough to quench our appetites that you've managed to wet so well.
  4. Nate I'm in the process of putting a sandie together, just taking it nice and slowwwly As mark said, normally you would use 20mm finishing strips for the legs and 15mm for the arms. What tutorial are you following or are you just playing it by ear? Peter's (stukatrooper) AP and T M ones are brilliant mate, he takes you through it step by step, and if you've built armour before you can feel in the gaps for the things that aren't shown. On top of that you'll see some stuff that you didn't even think of before I definitely recommend it mate
  5. No problem matey As for being helpful?, that's what the FISD is all about, sharing ideas, passing on information, helping each other out...sounds cheesy I know, but HEY!, its the bloody truth Ruth!! Right, filler I normally use 3 or 4 different fillers like Easy sand P38, Milliput, Humbrol model filler and car body 'stopper' also known as small scratch or surface filler. For the big stuff, P38 and for the small stuff the Humbrol and or stopper You can pick these two up from Halfords or most Car / Auto shops. Ohh, and I dont know if you have these but its another option for the scope graphics Well you did ask "can anyone help"
  6. Aaron emmm, I think I need a new crystal ball That's not a DoopyDoos, looks like some other cast from a Sterling. Yerrh I know it may look rough, but it does look like its got some great detail You can certainly make this in to a real Bad Boy with a little bit of work OK, some answers to some enquiries The mag plate came out really well mate. How about fitting a small block on to the front of the mag to match it up to the base plate?.That should even it out For the scope and front I'd use fine easy sand filler on all the imperfections. Build up areas where you want to add detail. Use a scalpel or Dremmel where you want to redefine areas. Here's the link to the 'Scope Tricks' post http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?show...amp;#entry58929 The number decal looks brilliant mate, love it Maybe do one in black as well just like the original. Beware the sign of the beast
  7. ...errrm, let me see....let me seeee, front of the barrel all bunged up around the screws,.....end cap and D-Ring a total mess.....and flakey around the mag housing......errrrm, yes,....YES....I think I see it Is it a DoopyDoos Mark1 by any chance? Aaron These can be cleaned up pretty darn nice with a wee bit of effort, let me know if you need a hand OK And as they say on Blue Peter..."here's one I made earlier".... Please don't forget to post up some photos of it when all done mate, loved to see it
  8. Aaron If you haven't glued it yet, how about trying this Ohh, and Araldite 2 pack apoxy quick drying is far better for something like this Now you're talking,...YEE-HARRH!!,.....when in doubt, just bash the granny out of it
  9. Lisa, Thats one of the small prices we some times have to pay when wearing screen accurate armour I'm afraid FX is great, one size fits most (with a little bit of playing around), easy assembly, comfy to wear, not screen accurate but can be modded to look pretty darn nice Where as the more screen accurate armour like AP, TE2, T M, GF, assembly can be tricky for the novice, they may require shims and or trimming for some body types, they're not always comfortable to wear, but.......They do look bloody fantastic Its a fine balance, form over function, style over comfort, there's no right or wrong with either its just what you feel right with. Can't wait to see your completed armour, I've been watching your build up and you are doing a fantastic job
  10. Yerrp, BIG cardboard box makes a brilliant temp spray booth that's exactly what I do. Also I'm lucky I have a loft that's boarded out and as lights fitted, so if I have to do any while its lashing down I just break out all the dust sheet and tape up big polythene sheets as a back drop. Always remember to keep inside areas well ventilated otherwise you'll feel like Jimmy Hendrix after a good night out with the boys
  11. Aaron Take a look over here mate, it shows you how I made a bracket to hold it in place Hope this helps
  12. Someone over on the UKG spotted these and I thought that a few of yous might like to have a little play around with them. They're paper stormtroopers that are real easy to make. Here's the link to the site where they have a whole bunch of different characters that you can make and some are just brilliant http://www.cubeecraft.com/ Here's a copy of the template check out the E11 Hours of fun for all the family, and you could even build your own detachment
  13. Jim What ever you do DO NOT eat those nuts ------------ They are extremely addictive and should be disposed of in a controlled manner. Lucky for you that I am highly trained in such matters so please send them straight to me where they will be consumed in a controlled environment ....mmmmm....Macadamia
  14. Ole Nice set up you've got there mate, well done The only thing that I would show is the right side of your blaster to see that you put the extra T-Track on both sides The rest looks good to go We might just get to that 50 mark before January at this rate.
  15. Mark You can also use some plastic tubing or a pipe and cut it length ways and that will give you a 'U' shaped track that you could use.
  16. Steve Yerrp, you're 100% right (as bloody always ), the pictures came from Brian, I just spotted his post over on the PD. Fantastic photos from a briiliant guy and he even joked about AA maybe replicating the orignal Stormtrooper weapon, .........the 2x4
  17. Jason That's the first thing that I thought..."Why as he got the belt around his knee" It's weird but things look odd, as John said the hand plates, the biseps look like two tubes calves / shins look strage without the trim. The thighs look real, look at the tops only TM does thighs that good other than the originals. If its a fake then its a bloody good one .....And if its real...... Kirk, PLEEEEEESE show some more pictures
  18. Mark and Thayne Do you know if your 'Elite' applications for ESB and ANH will be classed as new and added to the total or will you get additional status information added to your existing profiles? Just wondering, because it might mean that we need 2 new guys to help break that big 50 barrier
  19. May I say in Mr.Ainsworths defence, and on a positive note that he does make some darn good Pedoloes and fish ponds
  20. Mark Interesting hypothesis Sir! But I don't know if that would explain the bumps on molds that were taken from the inside of an helmet (unless they painted them as well ). I would love to hear the thoughts of others on the subject
  21. Edwin Here's a few photo that should help mate. Hope this helps
  22. arrh, ziss is ha phah-fect-lee normal, and common zimmtom of menny-menny people in diss hobby......
  23. Guy Not sure how much this is going to help you but here's the measurements of a TE Man, I just love those asymmetrical features of a screen accurate helmet, nothing matches and its BRILLIANT Good luck with the project mate
  24. Pat I'm not to keen on Hero's but I have a GF Hero with bubbles and the vision aint too bad. I'd never troop in it though,....I just love the look of Stunts too much
  25. FAN-BLOODY-TAS-TIC!!! Mike I am SOOOOO pleased for you, it just couldn't happen to a nicer person you more than deserve it mate. And remember, your friends will ALWAYS be there for you. Well done mate
