  1. Ok, cool news as i'm a fan of the Daft Punk, but i just hope the helmets won't be cheap ones!
  2. Those two threads might help you in your process: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/14216-e-11-model-x/ http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24149-international-source-for-e11-receiver-body-metal-pipes/ Good luck! That's an interesting project
  3. This is how i would trim to correct that gap: Trimming the rounded section is the key to fix the curve, as not being afraid to tighten the bottom screw very hard
  4. I wouldn't recommand you to use a nail for the front sight. Just wait for your armor and then use a bit of ABS. It's easy to shape to form, it will be more accurate and not really more fragile if glued correctly. For the groove, i can't remember but i guess it goes all the way through. In the end, just give it some depth and once painted the result should be the same.
  5. Good luck on the DVH kit! It requires quite some extra work compared to the Doopy but once it's finished, it looks nice
  6. Very minor flaw, it would be better if your screws had an hexagonal pattern on the inside:
  7. Update: As i want to keep this thread the most possible up-to-date with my armor i'm making this post. So last time i wheatered my armor, however the weathering i did for my helmet was a bit to faint for me so i decided to re-do it. Pictures : I also modified the strapping of my left shoulder bell which finally fixed my issue with it. I just shortened the length of the strap to the shoulder bridge. You can see the previous and the new location on the pic below: And i also received and glued my flexible "Alternative" handguards from Karin. Big thank to her! And to finish a little pic of myself next to a rocking Slave Leia look alike You can also see that the belt has been raised on the abdominal plate That's all for now Cheers!
  8. Good luck with this project! Here's a thread from AJCG, who also made a replica of this helmet, which might be helpful for you http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/20687-tantive-iv-tm-hero-helmet/page-2
  9. Yeah, they provide this d-ring since quite some time but it's a really cheap one. As Karin i wouldn't advise you to use it The Doopy also comes with no "magazine clip pin", a tiny piece which goes along the magazine, would be great if they add it in the kit in the future. Oh, and please don't put any "-e" at the end of my first name, it makes it becoming a female name... and a very old-fashioned one
  10. Damn, it took almost 10 minutes to understand that this pic has been taken from the inside! Nice optical trick But keep in mind to always cut away from the lines first and then adapt to your helmet's curves. BTW the ear on top of the pic should be the left ear. And on this pic, this is a left ear (set on the right side).
  11. It's nice to see confirmed that Doopy now has a single piece folding stock. Great improvement for the kit
  12. It would be good to post a clear side picture of the ears on your helmet to sort out if they're or not reversed. Because on the second pic of your post above, the ear looks right, but on the third it looks reversed. Here's a coulpe of pic from Stukatrooper albums on flickr to show how to position the ears:
  13. Your tears black lines look more like claws than actual strips right now. I think you should either narrow the top, or widen the bottom, or a combinaison of both.
  14. I guess if you have enought clamps/magnets i can be glued as it is right now; but if you have a heatgun it can be a good time to use it
  15. I wasn't referring at the Sniper knee plate but at the Ammo knee belt. The thing localized at the bottom of the right thigh. Here's a pic to explain what i was saying:
  16. Jancelot had the same problem during his build. You can look at his build thread about how he handled it: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/17863-tk-0393-ap-buildap/
  17. About the right ear, i would trim more at the back of the curved section. This way it should allow you to close the front when pressing the ear against the helmet. About the left one, IMO the only way to close the gap would be to drop the ear a little lower (like your right one BTW). But as they are now, i think you did a pretty good job ! NE ears seem to be really bad to fit properly.
  18. Edit: Panda handled it
  19. I understand you, i had the same problem and damn my collar bone was sore at the end of the day! About your last video (6.5) and the strapping of the drop boxes, i think it's more accurate to use 1inch white elastic than nylon webbing: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/18031-original-and-replica-prop-stormtrooper-belt/
  20. Indeed, the CRL says 8 teeth should be cut out, and it looks like you've cut 10 of them. (Even though some troopers hadn't eight teeth cut out.)
  21. As blasters are optionnal, i think you can submit your application without any blaster and get your EIB.
  22. If you've asked Paul to build it for you, your armor will be Centurion ready out of the box.
  23. If you need to add shims to your sides then the split rivets should be set on the shims. Basically people set the split rivets on the abdominal plate normally, then placed the shims on the kidney plate and once the left shim is set, the split rivets onto it. For the rivets placement, follow this pic the closer you can:
  24. Yep, you look fantastic! Perhaps you could just even the top of the thighs back cover strips: Also try to heatbend a bit the butt plate ends to avoid too much flaring out. And move the sticker which is inside your left shin, i can see it on your back shot
