  1. Congratulations trooper and welcome to the EI ranks and first of the next thousand

  3. They look like press studs not snaps?
  4. A bit easier here, we only have 3 cases and they are in hotel quarantine, we haven't had community transfer for months so we have a lot more freedom compared to many other places
  5. I hate running out of supplies when you are on a roll, luckily enough I have a store close by. At least you have other work you can continue with, which is something.
  6. Looking good, for the base I trimmed to suit as you have marked. For the top I've seen both ways done, here are a couple of AP centurion applications for reference I like the stepped down look as it is more screen accurate but it's all up the builder
  7. Nice work, a chore to wait for glue to dry
  8. I think we will have to wait until the 30th October for clearer images, but in regards to a new CRL or addition to the CRL that is ultimately up to our DL @Sly11 the more references available the easier it is to make decisions
  9. Thank you once again Paul, I thought this deserved a place in the EI section so it doesn't get lost in the newsletter. Some great questions you have posted, I won't spoil the fun for everyone by answering them
  10. Welcome back Dave, looking forward to seeing your build progress, good luck
  11. No I didn't, any link with a preview is left for the time being, too big to tackle in one go, a great idea
  12. Great news, looking forward to seeing those BBB photos. Now after the pleasure of seeing that nice white ABS sit back and let the panic set in "what have I got myself into" Good luck with the build, remember measure (research) twice and cut once

  14. Nice work, you have to think at times, will the sanding ever end
  15. Here is the post from our DL: "We have finalised the update on the CRL with an extensive re write and the addition of more approved accessories. Please note that if you are currently working on this build, you have an option on which version of the CRL you follow as we will have a 3 month grace period to cover you. Expires 17th December Option 1. Continue with the now outdated CRL (only available to those who started their build before the CRL update) prior to 16th September 2020. Option 2. Work to the new CRL."
  16. Nice work, should fit over your bells well
  17. Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks
  18. Well that's certainly a little different from what I have seen before, nice work.
  19. Well if you have the ideal body shape and height a commission could work for you, many find they still need to do some adjustment. Building from scratch can be very rewarding and you have a sense of pride that you built yourself BUT it does take a lot of research and work. There are pros and cons for both, really comes down to price and experience, if you can build a plastic model kit you can pretty much build a Stormtrooper Good luck which you decide, remember you have a whole detachment ready to help if required
  20. Looking good, you may need to adjust the cut lines when adjusting, tilting the faceplate to backplate can lift and lower the brow, can also make the opening larger and smaller, there is also fitment of the ears and their angles.
  21. Congratulations to our 1000 Expert Infantry With our 1000th EIB and March to 1000 now complete we take a look back to where it all began, bare with me as a lot of information is buried deep down and some has been lost over the years, I'm sure @Daetrin can chime in but this is what I have uncovered. Initially conceived by our detachment founder Paul "Daetrin" TK8020 back in 2006, here is the first outline of the program https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/5-expert-infantryman-badge-eib-program-overview/ In January 2007 a name had to be found https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/560-we-need-a-name-for-deployment/ discussed and a poll went up https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/633-poll-deployent-name/ the winning name being "Mark" (IV, V, VI). This name stuck for a little while but in August 2007 there was another poll https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/1347-deployment-name-poll/ this time it was decided the program would be called "Elite". In March 2009 a new poll went up to come up with a new name https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/6378-changing-elite-to-something-else/page/5/ with now outcome and in the end our detachment founder Paul decided on the name Expert Infantryman https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/6378-changing-elite-to-something-else/?do=findComment&comment=82088 his post below: "In the end I decided to re-brand our program as "Expert Infantry", with Elite troopers becoming Expert Infantryman. This is based on the Expert Infantryman Badge in the U.S. Army - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expert_Infantry_Badge for more info." Program name changes Mark 1-5 Elite 6-65 Expert Infantry 66-1000 EIB graphics Now on to some graphics and much of this had been discussed in staff areas, but here are just a few of the early designs It was suggested to keep it more to the military style, here is the military's Expert Infantryman Badge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expert_Infantry_Badge And from there came And finally Current day Some of the programs to help get the numbers of EIB's on the rise: The Road to 300 https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/18434-the-road-to-300-fisd-eib-that-is-stormtroopers-achieved/ The March to 500 https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/33547-october-2015-newsletter-road-to-500-expert-infantry-badge/ The March to 700 https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26126-the-march-to-700-expert-infantry-in-2014/ The March to 1000 https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/49177-only-18-spots-left-time-to-step-up/ Previous Deployment Officers: (sorry if anyone was missed, please let me know and I will edit) Paul "Daetrin" TK8020 Scott "Scott M." 22. Great news, welcome to the ranks trooper
  23. I use a heat gun all the time BUT you do need to know what you are doing, it's a tricky beast to use with ABS and you can go from pliable plastic to molten mess in less than a blink of an eye. LOTS of practice or safer to use a hot water bath. See how you look once you have all the armor strapped and test fitted, you may find it's really not an issue at all.
  24. I have never had issues with snaps and E6000 reacting and I've used various coated snaps, there must just be one type that unfortunately react. You could probably trim down the painters tape on the corners so it gives you a little more surface for the glue to adhere to the nylon.
  25. Looking forward to seeing the progress, the second time around goes much quicker
