  1. Hello and welcome aboard, plenty of info for you in the Getting Started section. Some great female builds Here is another thread full of info for the first timers
  2. Hammer, philips head screwdriver to help split the post, then standard setting tool works for me.
  3. Hello and welcome aboard, just to let you know although TK's are similar that the TX (black stormtrooper) is covered by Spec Ops, you can find their forum here https://forum.specops501st.com/
  4. Here's an image of the strapping pack (although may be a little out of date) video It does come with the metal bracket system, a lot of people use this as they are screen accurate but be aware they can make cracks in the armor due to strain and movement over time, many add supports behind. Bracket supports How to here A lot of people make their own strapping, double snapping is a great idea for areas which will have strain on them with movement, customizing your strapping allows you to make any adjustments which can be difficult to do with the original bracket system
  5. Congratulations and welcome to the EI ranks trooper
  6. Getting very close now
  7. Hello and welcome to the forums trooper
  8. Quite a few in Myer city store here in the west before Christmas but I doubt there'd be any left now at that price (that's $153 US for you overseas folk ). Thank you Santa and the friendly elf who had staff discount
  9. Hello and welcome back, RS is a very accurate set of armor, it is a little thin for some and can get some cracks over time from heavy trooping, much like a lot of other thinner armor but can be fixed and strengthened. Building yourself does give you a sense of pride and accomplishment, it can seem daunting at first but with research and helpful folk here on FISD to lend a hand you will soon wonder what all the worry was about. You may find with a commission build that you still have to make some adjustments, but some don't. You are right, very little in the way of armor parties with all that is going on in the world but having a build thread here on the forums you will still have many jump in and offer help. A great thread full of helpful info Good luck with what you decided.
  10. They could very well have been informed another supplier of helmets will no longer have a license to do so, perhaps they stepped up their accuracy to fill that gap, who knows they may be supplying Disney parks as their would be a gap in supply there too. They definitely have stepped up their game from some of the early helmets offered.
  11. Very nice work, looking forward to seeing one of these printed
  12. Happy New Year, hope it's a much better year than the last for a lot of us
  13. Hello and welcome to the forum, SDS does need a little work to get it up to specs especially if you want to achieve EIB or Centurion levels, here is a pre approval thread and a rework thread on an example of SDS and updates: Another build here
  14. https://trooperbay.com/abdominal-plate-masking-template Here is a different way to add paint to the buttons
  15. I'm pretty sure KB has updated a few parts in his kits, one being a TLJ specific cod, which are slightly different in shape to the TLJ Here is some comparisons of the cods Also the insides of the forearms a cut a little differently
  16. I use a hole punch and left over decal sheet to make templates, it's handy when you have a lot of tools in your shed
  17. You don't have to have any return edges on the biceps but many of us with smaller arms keep some to stop them moving around as much. A few of us have to also use foam inside to stop them moving. You can trim to match the bottoms of your shins, also remove any return edge so they don't rub on your boots.
  18. Exciting times, remember research is the key, measure twice and cut once, when in doubt check out the gallery sections https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/category/24-anh-tk-reference/ Good luck with the build
  19. Some references
  20. Here is an updated how to use Imgur Also if you are an approved 501st member you can request higher access here
  21. For any areas under strain I leave for at least 48 hours to make sure they hold fast.
  22. Exciting times, looking forward to seeing your build thread soon
  23. I use Humbrol No5 with Dave M stickers and hasn't been an issue. Many don't use the side rivets and opt for bolts in case they need to adjust the angle/height of the helmet, depending where you fix the sides does make a difference, using magnets is a great way to play with the positioning before final riveting/screwing
  24. Many of us use a suit case, fits in most vehicles, all the parts will fit inside the torso so fits easily in a suit case, helmet carry separately
  25. There has been a lot of talk on FB about it. First time I've seen the battery pack hidden on one of their helmets, the whole underside ring comes off to reveal the battery area. For anyone down under these are available in Myer Interestingly they added the TLJ clip specific detail, larger clip area recess Some comparison photos with movie used TLJ helmet sold through Propstore. You will notice the helmet is a little broader and not as sharp in the teeth corner area
